(A/N. There was originally a MayxDrew chapter planned for today, but I got so excited about this one I just HAD to upload it)

*Five years after the events of Sun/Moon*

Setting up parties was difficult. Moon generally enjoyed parties, though she generally never was the one co-hosting them.

The party was Hau's idea, naturally. He wanted to commemorate the five year anniversary of Moon's championship victory. She was fine with it, of course...until she had to invite everyone and set up Iki town.

"Hau are you sure you sent the invitations to everyone?" Moon asked, worriedly.

Hau sighed, "For the 27th time...yes Moon, I did"

Moon nodded, "Good"

"Worried your boyfriend won't show up?" Hau teased.

Moon blushed, "I was more worried about people like Mohn or Hapu getting their invitations, but sure"

Mohn practically lived off the grid, and Hapu was always traveling around, of course she was worried about their invitations! She wasn't worried about Gladion not coming. Since Lillie got back from Kanto, he came to more and more social events or just coming to hang out. Truthfully, however, she feared he may not come to this party because there would be so many people other than the four of them. Gladion, however, was not her boyfriend.

"We've still got some decorations to put up" Moon said, changing the subject.

Hau nodded. "I wish we had a couple extra hands..." Hau's face lit up, "Maybe our Pokémon could help?"

"Good idea!"

Hau chuckled, "I always have good ideas"

Moon rolled her eyes and sent out her Pokémon and Hau did the same.

Primarina, Incineroar, Lycanroc and Moon were on balloon duty, Raichu and Oricorio were hanging streamers, Leafeon and Lurantis were cutting the streamers into perfect lengths, Ninetails was keeping the drinks cold, Silvally was lighting the torches surrounding the area, and Komala and Hau were...sleeping?! Moon couldn't believe her eyes! Hau's Pokémon were working (most of them, anyway),and he was sleeping?

Moon tied a balloon and handed it to her Lycanroc, who held the string in his mouth. "Hau! Get up!" She yelled. Hau was laying on the opposite side of her on the battle platform.

Hau raised his hand, "The Kahuna needs his beauty sleep" he argued.

"It hasn't worked before. What makes you think it'll work now?" Moon retaliated. Her Lycanroc used stealth rock to give the balloons something to be tied to.

"Tsk tsk tsk" Hau began, "You never were a believer of good looks"

Moon rolled her eyes and tied the balloon to one of the rocks. "Just make yourself useful"

Hau sighed, got up, and went to help Oricorio and Raichu with the streamers.

The party had started around five. Lillie, Gladion and Lusamine were the first ones there, naturally. Lillie likes to be early.

"Lusamine, I'm glad you could make it!" Moon chirped.

"Oh dear I wouldn't have missed it!" Lusamine answered.

"Moon! Congrats on five years!" Lillie said excitedly, hugging Moon.

Moon returned the hug then pulled away. "Thanks! Can you believe it's been five years?!"

"I'm not surprised" Gladion cut in "You are the strongest trainer I've ever met"

Moon blushed, "Aw thanks Gladion. I always try my best"

"Dear I hate to be a bother, but do you happen to have anything to drink?" Lusamine asked.

Moon nodded and pointed at Ninetails, who was across by Hau's house.

"Ninetails is keeping them cool until Hau gets back with a cooler. He should be back by now, but he did just earn his Kahuna status. People are probably all over him" Moon said. Lusamine nodded and walked over to Ninetails.

"Wait for me, Mother!" Lillie called, going to catch up with her mom.

"She's changed quite a bit, hasn't she?" Moon asked, referring to Lusamine,once the pair was out of ear-shot.

Gladion shrugged, "As much as someone can change in five years"

A lot had changed in five years. Moon's hair had grown a tiny bit longer (she liked to keep it short, however) and she never wore her hat anymore. Instead of her blouse and shorts, she sported a plain yellow dress.

Lillie had gotten taller and came back from Kanto with two badges and a Wartortle.

Hau had gotten much taller and became Kahuna of Melemele, just recently, on his sixteenth birthday.

Gladion had changed quite a bit too. He was more social and open to relationships, but he never made any friends other than Moon and Hau (even if he never really considered Hau a friend). His hair had grown longer, covering the entire half of his face. He was the tallest out of all of them, he had gained more muscle, but he was still pretty skinny for his age.

Gladion and Lillie had also taken on Aether Paradise for their mother. Lillie said it would be best for Lusamine if she didn't have so much power.

"A lot can change..." Moon breathed. She and Gladion stared at each other. Gladion must've realized he was staring and looked away.

"Hey! Guys!" A voice called. Hau was back.

The party only got more crowded as the night went on. Moon invited practically everyone in Alola. She couldn't count how many "Congratulations on five years!" she got.

Halfway through the night, Hau came up to her.

"Hey Moon, when're we gonna start the battles?"

"Getting anxious? Flirting with Lillie getting too boring?"

Hau's face reddened "N-no! I mean- I wasn't- Ugh, let's just get on with the battles"

"Sure tomato face we can start the battles" Moon laughed, walking away.

Just as Moon was going to go up the the battle platform to announce she would be taking battles, someone grabbed her wrist. She turned to see the person.

She inhaled sharply. Gladion.

"Moon can I talk to you?" He asked, cheeks tinted pink.

"Sure...but can it wait? I told Hau I'd battle him"

Gladion sighed and let go of her.

Moon got onto the platform and attempted to get everyone's attention.

"Everyone! Um, listen up!" She struggled. Hardly anyone paid her any notice. She looked over at her Primarina and mouthed help. Her Pokémon nodded and moved over to her. Primarina took a deep breath, and a high pitched noise came from her throat. Everyone covered their ears and turned to the creator of the noise.

Primarina stopped. Moon pet her head as she said, "Sorry!"

Moon took her hand off her Pokémon's head "Now I'm going to be taking battles. Anyone who wants to battle me is welcome, but first I'm going to battle Hau"

The crowd cheered as the new Kahuna walked onto the platform, Pokéball in hand.

"Ready?" He asked.

Moon looked to Primarina. "Ready"

Moon won battle after battle that night. They were only one on one battles to not tire her Pokémon out so much.

"Okay I think I'll take one more battle" she stated. "Who wants to battle"

"I will" a familiar voice said. The owner of the voice stood on the opposite side of the platform.

"Okay Gladion, lets battle"

Gladion sent out his Crobat. Moon sent out her Silvally.

"Who gave Moon a Type: Null?" Lusamine asked her daughter.

Lillie rolled her eyes, "Lover boy up there"

"Ready Silvally?" Moon asked. Her Pokémon roared in excitement.

"Crobat use Cross Poison" Gladion commanded.

Fast as lightning, Crobat's wing glowed in a purple light, and made a direct hit to Silvally. Silvally kept its ground.

"Silvally, Swords Dance!"

"Crobat, Toxic!

Silvally became surrounded by an array of sword shaped light, boosting its attack, but just as soon as the attack ended, a purple light enveloped Silvally, poisoning it.

"You can do it Silvally, use Dragon Claw!"

Silvally lunged at Crobat, claw glowing with a teal color, making direct contact. Crib at was knocked to the floor, but got up.

"Crobat, Venoshock!"

"Dodge and use Crush Claw!"

Silvally dodged the Venoshock and hit acrobat with a devastating Crush Claw.

Crobat hit the floor again. This time it did not get up.

"Silvally you did it!" Moon cheered, rushing to her Pokémon and hugging it. She gave it a pecha berry to help with the poison and returned it to its Pokéball for rest. Gladion returned his Crobat and walked over to Moon.

He shook his head and smiled. He smiled that rare smile she had only seen a few times. The smile that tied her stomach in knots.

"Looks like you beat me again"

Moon felt her face heat up, "Thanks for the battle, Gladion"

He stepped closer. "Remember when I said I had something to tell you?"

She nodded. She did remember. She remember he touched her, which was not something he normally did.

"Well I was thinking of telling you now"

Her heart dropped. It must not be that important if he was willing to tell her with everyone watching.

Moon nodded. "Go ahead" she said, attempting to mask her disappointment.

Gladion did something she would never expect of him. He stepped forward and kissed her.

It was short. He didn't give her much of a chance to react before pulling away. He kissed her.

"Moon I-" he began. He was cut off by Moon throwing her arms around him and kissing him. He seemed shocked at first, but wrapped his arms around her and kissed her back. The kiss was a bit longer than the first one.

Moon pulled away, but she was still centimeters away from his face. "I've been waiting to do that for five years" she whispered. Gladion gave a small laugh.

"Ahem"

Moon and Gladion looked around them, as if forgetting the crowd was there. Gladion's face turned bright red as he let go of Moon and looked down at the floor, awkwardly.

Moon gave a nervous laugh and grabbed Gladion's hand. She pulled him off the platform and away from all the people.

She brought him away from the party, to the edge of Iki town.

They stood close together, staring in each other's eyes, trying to read the person in front of them.

"Moon," Gladion exhaled, "I...like you"

"I'd be surprised if you didn't after that" Moon answers. Gladion let out a small laugh and looked down to hide his red face.

Moon brought her hand up to his face and moved his blonde hair away from his face. His eyes looked up at her, then he brought his whole head back up. Moon continued to keep the hair out of his face.

His green eyes gleamed like broken glass. Those years with his mother before she reformed had broken him. The two years he spent alone had broken him. He still puts up a wall to keep others out so he can't get hurt again. Well Moon wasn't going to hurt him. She lowered her hand and his hair fell upon his face again.

She wrapped her arms around him and put her head in his chest. Gladion rested his head on top of hers.

"Gladion?"

"Hmm?"

"You have beautiful eyes"
