MoonxHau

Hau rubbed the back of his neck, "Look Moon...it's okay to not be okay."

Moon hugged her knees to her chest and dug her toes into the white sand, "I know..." She sighed.

"This-" Hau waved his hands about, "That job wasn't everything!"

"It was to me..." Moon sniffled, hugging her knees tighter.

Hau sighed, "I know you loved being Champion but...there's so much more you could do!"

Moon looked up at her friend, "Like what?"

Hau frowned, "Like...you could get a 'normal person' job like Sun, be an island captain or Kahuna, a professor, or you could work with Gladion and Lillie at Aether Paradise!" He listed.

Moon sighed.

"The point is, there's lots of opportunities for you! You were the first Champion of Alola! You saved Alola from the Ultra Beasts! You taught us all what being a trainer means..."

Moon blushed softly and Hau threw an arm around her and pulled her close, "You're the best, Moon! This isn't the end for you- I know it!"

"Thanks Hau..." Moon said, wrapping her arms around the boy.

Hau hugged her back, "No prob, kiddo!"

Moon giggled and pushed Hau away, "I'm two months older than you!"

"Technicalities." Hau groaned.

Moon rolled her eyes and kissed Hau's cheek, "Thanks again."

Hau blushed slightly and scratched his head, "It's still no problem." He chuckled.

Hau stood up and dusted the sand off his pants, "Let's get you home. It's getting late."

As Hau offered her his hand and pulled her up, Moon said, "I can walk by myself!"

"Well of course you can," Hau agreed, "But I'm headed that way anyway, remember?" He asked as they began walking.

"Right...race ya!" Moon yelled, running off.

"Hey!" Hau protested, running after her, "No fair!"

As the two reached Moon's house, they both doubled over. They tried desperately to catch their breaths, agreeing that they needed to lay off the malasadas.

Hau leaned against the stair railing, "I gotta start working out." He puffed.

Moon bent over and put her hands on her knees, "Me too," she wheezed, "Remember when we were kids and could run forever?"

"No," He laughed in between breaths, "I don't remember ever being able to do that."

Moon stood up straight and put her hands behind her head, "Man this blows."

"For sure."

"I'm going inside." Moon breathed, starting to head up the stairs.

Hau waved half heartedly, "Okay bye."

"Hau?"

"Yeah?" He asked, turning to look up at Moon.

Moon chuckled nervously, "Thanks."

"Quit sayin' that!" Hau groaned, "I told you it was no big deal, Moon."

"It was a big deal to me..."

Before Hau could realize the sudden closeness between he and his friend, their lips were touching. Strangely, he didn't mind. He even found himself kissing her back and wanting to pull her closer. As they pulled away, they both suddenly seemed to realize what happened.

Hau blushed profusely and turned away, "W-Well that was...different."

Moon turned red and laughed nervously, "For sure!"

"Not bad though!"

"No not at all!"

"But different!"

"Yeah!"

"G-Goodnight Moon!" Hau chuckled awkwardly.

"I love that book!" Moon responded. She facepalmed, "I mean...goodnight Hau!"

"Bye!" They both said, walking away.

Moon rushed into her house and closed the door behind her. She covered her mouth with her hand and leaned against the door.

Sun looked over at his sister from the couch, "Hey sis. You have fun with Hau?"

"I don't know! Shut up!" She defended, rushing to their room.

As she slammed the door behind her, Sun frowned.

"That was weird."

Hau put his hands behind his head, "Oh shit..."
