On a quiet night in Vaniville Town, four trainers slept peacefully. They were all quite excited for the next day, as it would be the start of their pokemon journey as assistants of Professor Sycamore! This meant that not only were they free to travel and explore Kalos, but things like hotels would be paid for so they wouldn't have to worry so much about living expenses while on their journey. However, not all was as peaceful as they'd hoped. In the middle of the night, their dreams twisted and lost shape. Soon they found themselves in a dark open field, all four able to see each other and a massive figure in the distance. The shape told them of a great danger ahead, and that it would be up to them to save Kalos and the rest of the world! But first, they were to be tested. If they refused, they'd simply forget all this happened. The test was simple, but challenging. A "Nuzlocke" the figure explained. They were to grow close with a few pokemon rather than a massive plethora. They would even be allowed to speak to them. However, if they should fail as a trainer to keep their partners safe, they would no longer qualify to join them on the journey. This included if the Pokémon should lose before being caught. Reluctantly, the newly trainers all agreed. And so, they were all returned to their own individual dreams, only to wake up the next morning with a foggy memory to last night's events...It was time to meet up with the others to retrieve their first pokemon.
