☺︎︎ Chapter Fifty-Six
"Why'd you call me here?" Furrowing his eyebrows once he enters his abandoned apartment.
He was with Jeno earlier today, spending time with him since it's currently the weekend.
All was fine until Lucas had ran up to them in the park, panting as he wasn't in his werewolf form.
The tall basketball player didn't went straight to the point about what his main concern was, all he said was it's important and if Jaemin can please make time for it, it'll be great.
Obviously Jaemin was contemplating if he should cut his date with Jeno short or if he should apologize and make time for Lucas' concern tomorrow.
But Jeno being Jeno, sensed Jaemin's hesitation and sighs. He turns to him, letting go of his vampire boyfriend's hand, and cups his jaw.
"Jaemin hyung, if this is really important–" he pauses to glance at Lucas who was standing there awkwardly yet also impatiently.
"Which it probably is considering Lucas hyung ran here from who knows where." He continues and faces his vampire boyfriend again.
"We can cut the date short, no need to worry, okay? I think you really need to go with Lucas hyung for this important thing."
"But, pup–"
"Jaeminie hyung, seriously, we can go on another date tomorrow or something. Or even better, continue later tonight," he cuts the older boy off.
Pursing his lips, he shyly smiles at him. "Give me cuddles later?" Tilting his head to the side.
The vampire prince softly smiles back, caressing Jeno's waist with his thumbs. "Of course, pup." He promises.
Sharing a long kiss on the lips, Jeno hums and mumbles against Jaemin's lips, "I'll call my friends to see if they can hangout if you're wondering."
Pulling away, his vampire boyfriend chuckles. "I'll trust and warm up to them this time, make sure to not wonder around without them and wait for me back in the apartment."
Nodding, the younger boy leans in to kiss his jawline, "I'll wait, take your time. I'll understand since it's important," he reassures.
Humming, Jaemin gave one last kiss on Jeno's forehead– he can't help it, alright? Attack him if you want.
Heaving a sigh, he turns to Lucas and nods his head at him while Jeno was already taking out his phone and ringing up his friends.
"Turns out, Mark and Haechan are in the store around the corner over there." Jeno announces, pointing at the direction on his left.
"I'll see you later, hyung." He waves goodbye and doesn't forget to wave at Lucas as well.
Jaemin waves back, "remember to call me if anything is needed." He quickly shouts at him and earns a thumbs up.
That was a few moments ago, now, he's here in his abandoned apartment– which they had made into a hangout spot– with Lucas behind him.
"Long story short, your parents called." Yangyang informs, standing up from his seat as he crosses his arms.
Hearing that, Jaemin almost instantly groans and pinches the bridge of his nose.
It's not like he absolutely hates his parents, he in fact is okay with them. It's just the dumb and stereotypical legacy he has to carry if he sticks around in their dimension for too long.
His parents, grandparents, great grandparents– basically his whole bloodline, were great rulers and are well known vampires if not royalty.
He just feels a little too pressured about it, as dumb as it sounds, he doesn't want to fuck it up once he gets crowned king.
There's a lot of thoughts circling his mind, and all he can do before he walks out and have his friends call for him again is to think of Jeno.
Jeno and his reassuring words, his beautiful smile and great personality is what made Jaemin calm again.
He looks up once he snaps out of it and gestures for Yangyang to say more.
"Hendery visited his parents for a quick moment a few days ago, and I thought he was lying at first." Yangyang starts off.
They turn to Hendery who was throwing away a blood pack to the side as he walks over to them.
"It's like– a war– no, almost like hell there, Jaem." He emphasizes. "There are certain areas that are damaged, some vampires are wilding and are fighting over things."
"Luckily your family's palace is protected with the royal guards, some people are being idiots and throwing shit there."
"What are they fighting for?" Jaemin asks, wanting to find out and getting straight to the point.
Hendery and Yangyang look at each other before turning to him, "for your throne." They said in sync.
"But that's... Almost impossible, right?" Lucas spoke up, quirking a brow. "Jaemin's the next in line, why would they be fighting over it when it's kinda already reserved?"
"That was decades ago, Lucas. Jaemin's fucking old." Yangyang retorts and rolls his eyes.
"Oh right." The alpha werewolf boy scratches his nape awkwardly.
"Besides, we're talking about vampires here. Our kind can be... Selfish, vicious and all that shit." Yangyang adds.
"Imagine it as... arrogant Alphas– especially purebreds, fighting." Lucas grimaces at the words Yangyang said as he could instantly imagine what he meant.
"Damn." He said almost breathless.
"Anyways, the main point is, Jaemin's parents called and wants you to visit them." Yangyang said turning to Jaemin again.
The vampire prince who was a little bit dazed from the information, blinks furiously at him. "Why?" Is all he could blurt out.
Yangyang rolls his eyes, "it's already fucking obvious, your highness." He said in a mocking tone, getting annoyed.
"Your kingdom and your people are being animals. Over your throne." He emphasizes as Hendery gently pulls him back, sensing the frustration this situation is effecting them.
Jaemin then scowls, "it's not my kingdom and they're not my people, and it certainly will never happen." He grits through his teeth.
Yangyang scoffs at him. "Please, you're being your old shithead self again, like when you were in denial of Jeno being your soulmate and being in love with him." He comments.
Lucas pulls Jaemin back when the latter was about to step forward, he wasn't necessarily going to hit one of his friends.
But he guesses that the way he moved and from the tension in the room, it's easily misunderstood.
"What's so hard for you to understand, Jaemin?"
"Why me?!" The vampire prince snaps, "that's what I don't understand, Yangyang. That why it should be me." He breathes heavily.
They all went quiet, Yangyang silently frustrated as Hendery was calming him down.
Jaemin deeply sighs and shrugs Lucas' hands off him, "I'm leaving, this conversation is over." He announces, walking over to the doorway.
Before he finally leaves, he quickly glances over his shoulder. "Tell my parents I'm unavailable. My apologies."
"My dear soulmate, why do I sense... Anger?"
"Pup, I need you to calm me down."
