Blues P.O.V

*Ding* Blue's phone sounded, he picked it up to see he had a message from Red

"Hey, want to hang out tonight? :)"

Blue smiled softly to himself, he loved spending time with Red but tonight he couldn't.
"Sorry, I have to finish this paper so I can give it to Gramps in the morning"
He placed his phone back on the desk looking back at his screen, he began to type again but kept glancing at his phone at the side, impatiently waiting for Red to respond again.

It had been a little while when his phone received another notification.

"Sorry about the late reply, could you believe Pikachu got his head stuck in a box of Pokémon treats xD
We can still hang out though"

Blue laughed,
"No way xD
How?"
He set his phone back down but not a few seconds later a video call request came through, he accepted

"This is how!"

Blue laughed again in response
"Of course, is Pikachu okay?"

Red moved his camera down, pointing it at his chest as he was now lying down.
"Yeah he's fine see, he's just resting now"
He moved the camera back up to his face as Blue set his phone on his desk so it was stood up facing him

"That's good"
Blue responded

"Yeah, how's your paper coming along?"
Red asked.

"It should be done in a couple of hours, at least I hope so, it's already gone 9 pm and I would like to sleep tonight"
Blue responded, focusing his gaze back to his computer.

"It will be, you got this!"
Red cheered him on, Blue laughed again
"And I'm here to support you"
Red continued, Blue glanced back down to his phone at him, Red with a ready smile on his face.

Blue blushed a little but luckily Red couldn't see since his room was mostly dark beside the light emitting from his monitor,
"I know, thanks" Blue smiled softly.

"No worries, I'll always be here for the people I care about!"

Blue felt a warmth in his chest
'He's so caring and so damned cute'
Blue thought, he'd been crushing on Red for a while but didn't know how to tell him, he didn't know how Red felt about him so ultimately decided to say nothing no matter how it pained his heart

"Blue, you okay?"

Red broke him out of his thoughts
"Ah yes, sorry just thinking about what else I should add to this paper"
He responded with a nervous laugh

"Of course, don't let me distract you"
Red responded.

"It's a little hard no to be distracted"
Blue let out quietly in a breath so Red couldn't hear,

"Sorry, I didn't catch that"

"Don't worry about it, just talking out loud"

For the next hour they conversed about small things, Red rambled on mostly but Blue didn't mind, he enjoyed listening to Red's voice, it was a sort of comfort to Blue.

Then Red yawned, "You should sleep if you want to, don't let me keep you up" Blue said with a small laugh as he continued to type.

"No, I said I'd be here to support you and support you I shall" Red responded in a jokey tone but was completely serious

"That's fine with me, but don't complain if you're tired tomorrow" Blue joked back.

"I'll be fine" Red grinned, then began talking about their time as kids, competing in the Kanto league.

It brought back some pain for Blue since he treated Red bad, he wasn't exactly sure why and Red doesn't bring it up.
There was a small silence then Blue quietly let out a sigh,"I'm sorry"

"Huh, what? What for?"

"I'm sorry I was such a dick towards you back then, I know an apology is a little overdue but I just wanted you to know.."

There was another silence and then he heard Red let out a sort of sympathetic laugh "Blue, please. You didn't need to apologize, I already forgave you...

You-you came back to me as a friend and that's all I needed" Blue didn't know what to say, he felt his eyes full up, he held back any tears and laughed through them.

"That's just typical of you, always so sympathetic and forgiving, it's going to be your downfall one day if you're not careful" There was another silence then a sigh,

"But yeah, I'm glad I turned myself around otherwise you wouldn-" Blue looked at his phone because he hadn't heard anything for a little while from Red

"You've gotta be kidding" Blue rolled his eyes and laughed, Red had fallen asleep, he picked up his phone "Goodnight Red.."
He paused, then his voice lowered,"I love you"

He ended the call feeling a wave of embarrassment but also some relief.

He finished his work around an hour later, turned off his computer then headed to bed having nothing else on his mind now but Red.

When morning came Blue woke to the sunlight shining through a crack in the curtains.He picked his phone up to check the time and saw he has a message from Red. He opened the message and had to read it over a couple of times as his eyes adjusted to the day.Suddenly it was as though time stopped, his face felt warm and he experienced an unusual emotion as he read those words

"I love you too"
