Before we start I want to say I'm sorry for the darksteel moment in the last chapter. I didn't really do much research into these characters so I didn't know what their passions were (well I did just not enough) so I've rewritten this entire chapter. Again I apologize.

"GET BACK HERE YOU TWO!" Steven shouted, but he was ignored just like the last ten times he shouted it. Steven has chased them through a forest, a meadow, and now a rocky terrain. Cynthia was chasing Lance because of his comment earlier and boy does he regret it! "LANCE!" Cynthia roared "CYNTHIA IM SORRY I SWEAR!" Lance said then stopped and braced himself, she was just about to hit, when a rock broke under her, stopping her in her tracks. Steven stopped as well, catching his breath. Then he saw Cynthia and panicked "Cynthia." He warned "No sudden moves." She nodded, not moving an inch "Ok listen. I'm going to walk closer. When I'm close enough, you jump towards me, ok?" Steven instructed, Cynthia nodded. Steven's plan then sprang into action, slowly but surely stepping closer and closer towards her. Cynthia was about to jump when the rocks broke under her, and she started to fall "CYNTHIA!" Steven shouted, then without thinking he put a hand on the edge then jumped off and caught Cynthia. His hand was still on the edge, so they weren't falling. Lance then sprang into action and helped Steven and Cynthia get up. When they finally got up, and got a safe distance from the edge, they were all breathing heavily. After all a near death experience will do that to you. When they finally caught their breath, Steven was the first one to break the ice between them "Are you ok Cynthia?" He asked, worried "Y-Yeah just started." She stammered. "Thanks." Steven nodded. "Well I think I'm going to head back to the suite." Lance said, then he threw a pokeball, dragonite coming out of it, and he flew off.  Steven started to chuckle a bit, making Cynthia curious "what's so funny?" Steven then turned to Cynthia "His Dragonite. It reminded me of the first time we met." This made Cynthia even more curious. She never knew how they met, Steven noticed this

Flashback
Steven's POV
"Alright!" I shouted "A new rare stone, this seems like a moon stone but a slightly different pattern and a lighter shade of black!" I was looking for stones when I happened to come across a moon stone like no other. It had swirls on it and literally looked like a moon. It was also a lighter shade of black and a bit bigger in size. I was so excited, I immediately ran towards the exit and went to my cottage. My cottage, on the other hand, was a mess. Well not really, every room was well organized and clean. Well every room except mine. They're were stones scattered on my desk, the floor, even my bed! There was piles on piles of books detailing evolution stones and the history of the Hoenn and the other regions, they were charts and maps on the walls, paper scattered on my desk, and notebooks detailing notes on rocks and the deep rich history of all the regions and even how some parts are connected. It was the true setting of a restless, curious learner. "Alright now where did I put those notes-." I stopped when I heard a crash outside. I ran out to see "Lance?" I asked "What brings you here?" Lance perked up and saw me "Oh, Steven." He said, sounding like a idiot "Hi..." I then looked at him, dragonite, and the upper half of a tree on the ground "Crash landing?" I asked and he nodded "I have a first aid kit, please, come inside." I offered, which he accepted. When we were inside I had Lance settle on the couch while I grabbed a first aid and a glass of water. "Here." I said as offered him the glass of water, which he took. I then went back into the kitchen and gave dragonite some Pokémon food. "Thanks Steven." Lance said, gratitude in his voice. "You would've done the same for me." I responded as I got out my medical kit. I then handed it to him and he wasted no time applying ointment to his wounds. When he was finished he put his cape on "What's with the cape?" I asked "I wear it to look nice. I mean I am the legendary dragon mastermind! Champion of Johto and Kanto!" Then he did his signature pose, making me chuckle a bit. "Alright well take care Lance, your always welcome here." He nodded then flew away on dragonite

Flashback end

"And that's how I met him." Steven finished, Cynthia chuckled a bit. "So that stone you were talking about." She started "Was it really moon shaped?" Steven nodded as he proceeded to explain that moon stone was a special one that could somehow change a Pokémon's colors during evolution. (Basically it was a moon stone that turned a Pokémon into a shiny Pokémon.) Cynthia listened in awe. "Well that sounds interesting." He nodded

"Hey Cynthia I was wondering."

"Yeah?"

"When you kissed me earlier. Was that supposed to mean anything?" Cynthia blushed at the question
"I-It was to say t-t-thanks for helping me." She quickly replied as she mentally face palmed "Great job Cynthia you are now a magikarp" She thought. Truthfully, she had developed feelings for him during the past few months but couldn't express it. But then she realized something.
"More importantly why did you return it? Why didn't you just try and break off?" She countered, now it was Steven's turn to go red. "O-Oh Umm I....have no idea" he replied "It felt nice so I didn't want to break off." Cynthia blushed "!!" Steven just realized what he said and mentally face palmed "Umm What I meant was umm....ok I meant that" he sighed in defeat, Cynthia turned away to hide her blush and her smile "Well as long as were on the subject, it also felt really nice." Cynthia and Steven exchanged a look. Then they both realized that they were so close their noses were almost touching. Cynthia sighed "Ok I didn't mean it as a Thanks. Well not entirely." She then put her hand on top of his and made eye contact. "I meant it as a confession." Then she looked to the side and played with her hair. Steven was both happy and shocked. But he dismissed it as he held her hand. She stopped playing with her hair and looked at him, red as a tomato. Steven whispered something in hear ear which made her mentally jump for joy. Cynthia gently caressed his face with her hand and she leaned her head forward, closing her eyes. Steven did the same

Then they kissed

When they broke off, Cynthia got an idea. She moved forward a bit and sat in Steven's lap, her legs wrapping around his waist and her arms wrapping around his neck. Now she was looking straight at him. Steven also got an idea and wrapped one of his arms around her back and one around her waist, and he pulled her closer to him. Now they were resting their foreheads on each other. "This in kind of like a dream come true." Steven admitted "Never thought the Sinnoh champion would go for a guy like me."

"Your not just some guy your the Hoenn Champion and the person my heart yearns for." Cynthia said "Your the most generous person I've ever met. Ever since you took me and the other champions to the mossdeep star show I've had feelings for you." Steven blushed at the comment "I don't know about that. But I do know I'm the luckiest man on earth. Your so smart and talented. I've loved you ever since we started researching together."

"Lance is going to freak when he finds out about us." Cynthia said as Steven chuckled a bit, thinking of his reaction "Well what he doesn't know won't hurt him." He said and she nodded. Cynthia was about to speak again, but Steven was faster and kissed her again. She returned the kiss, loving every bit of it. When the broke off she unwrapped her arms around his neck and wrapped one of them around his back, the other clenching his shirt. They kissed again, but it was brief. Then Steven kissed Cynthias neck, making her blush. He also kissed her again, when they broke off Cynthia immediately lunged forward for another kiss.

*30 mins later* (you can probably guess what happened)

"We should get back." Steven suggested "Lance will get worried about us."

"I was enjoying this though." Cynthia pouted as she sucked her cheek in.

"Don't worry we will pick up where we left off." He said reassuringly. Cynthia sighed in defeat as she got off him and stood up. Steven did the same. "Well then let's get going." Cynthia said in a sad tone. Steven noticed this and decided to give her a little surprise. As she started walking Steven grabbed her legs and pushed her up, catching her off guard. Now she was sitting on his neck hanging on for dear life.
"Steven Stone What the Arceus are you doing?!" She said, Steven chuckled a bit. "Well I thought that you would like a better point of view." She then looked around, seeing the lakes, the forest, the mountains, and the pokemom. She then smiled "I guess I did. Thanks"

Steven nodded as the he walked back to their hotel, Taking in the scenery.

2 hours later

"We're finally home." Steven whispered. It was midnight and Lance was asleep, you could hear him snoring. After they went into the bedroom, they took turns getting changed "Well if off to bed." Steven said as he yawned. When he got in bed, he was surprised to see Cynthia getting in bed with him "I thought you wanted to keep this a secret?" He asked "Well yeah but Lance can keep a secret and your warm and cozy." She responded as she laid down on top of him. "Alright." Steven said as he wrapped his arms around her. "Good night." She whispered, followed up with a peck on the cheek "Night."

It was morning now and sun was shining through the window. Cynthia eyes opened to reveal a sleeping Steven. She started to panic, then she remembered the events of yesterday and calmed down. As she looked at Steven, she noticed his shirt was up a bit. Out of curiosity, she lifted it up a bit. She blushed as she saw his 8 pack. Not wanting to go any further she lets go of his shirt and lays back on Steven, trying to fall asleep. When she was doing this though she felt Steven move and his eyes slowly open. "Morning sleepyhead." She teased "Morning." He responded, followed up with a yawn. As he sat up, Cynthia got off him. "What do you say we get some breakfast?" He suggested, Cynthia nodded. When the walked out they noticed Lance making pancakes "You?Cooking?" Steven said, dumbfounded. "I'm the champion of Johto and Kanto! I'd be stupid if I couldn't cook!" He retorted "Anyways here's your breakfast lovebirds. Don't worry I won't say anything." As he proceeded to give us are pancakes he got a phone call. "Hello? What's up? I understand? Ok I'm on my way." Then he hanged up the phone "Sorry guys I need to go. There is some business need to attend to." Then Lance got changed and walked out of the door, leaving Steven and Cynthia alone, eating breakfast. When they finished they watched some TV "How long do you think he'll be gone?" Cynthia asked "I mean we could pick up where we left off."

"And risk getting seen by Lance?" Steven cut in "Arceus no." Cynthia chuckled "Well as long as I get to be with you I'm happy." Then she gave him a quick peck on the lips "Couldn't have said it better myself."
