Rocket lay at the entrance to the cave staring out as the rain drenched the forest outside. Galvin and Sky also peacefully behind her. Rocket watched a flash of lightning flash making the forest light up for a moment before it vanished. She sat up looking over her shoulder at Galvin and Sky. She watched as the tiny cat Neptune groomed the fur along Galvin's neck and smiled slightly. Sky lay curled up not far away her large wings creating a wall between her and the entrance to the cave.

Rocket turned back to continue watching the storm and though about the days events. They'd spent most of the day fleeing from humans. She knew the humans and dragons where supposed to hate each other but she couldn't feel hate towards the tiny two legged creatures who constantly chased them off. She sighed and curled her golden striped tail around her talons. The humans kept getting more dangerous weapons, at first they used swords and knives but know that hey had developed weapons that flung rocks and other heavy things at flying dragons. She reached her taking up the feel the spot where she'd been hit by a burning log earlier that day. She winced slightly and stood up, even though it was raining she could tell it was almost dawn and went to wake her friends.

She prodded Galvin in the side he mumbled something and lifted his head to look at her "time to go already" he said sleepily. Rocket nodded and went to wake Sky. Once her friends where awake Rocket hurried to check outside again. She turned around to see Galvin trying to coax Neptune into laying on his back Sky sat nearby amusement showing on her face as she watched the defiant cat dodge Galvin's paws. Finally Galvin managed to catch Neptune and get her to sit between his wings. Rocket smiled and lead the way out of the dry cave into the cold wet forest.

She lead the way weaving between trees, she checked over her shoulder her friends where still following her. Her friends both stood about a head taller than her but the little red dragon didn't mind. She had been born a runt, normally when runts hatched they where killed by their parents, but Rockets parents had decide that leaving the little dragonet alone in the forest would be enough. Apparently it hadn't been since Rocket was still alive thirteen years later. Galvin was only a year older and stood just  a little below Sky's Jawline. Sky being 24 was by far the oldest of the three of dragons and also the largest, standing straight up Rocket would be at her shoulder.

Rocket looked in front of her almost tumbling over the cliff she hadn't noticed before. Sky leapt foreword graving her tail and dragging her back. Rocket looked over the ledge startled, "are you alright" Sky questioned checking the smaller dragon for injuries. "I'm fine" Rocket tells her standing up. She peered back over once more noticing a human settlement at the bottom of the cliff tucked away against the mountain side. She sighed as Galvin came over to see what she was looking at and snorted "more humans" he grumbled sitting down. Neptune hopped off his back and went to circle his front paws. "Maybe the humans don't come up to this part of the forest" Rocket says trying to sound optimistic. Sky looked at her shaking her head "it won't be safe around here" she tells them.
"Will it ever be safe anywhere we go" Rocket cried
"We will find somewhere, I hope" sky whispered the last part
Galvin sat watching them "why don't we stay here a little regain are strength and then continue on our way, who knows maybe Rocket's right" he says trying to stop them from arguing. Rocket looked from him to sky and back again.
"Fine" Sky mumbles "but don't say I didn't warn you" she says as she lead the way back towards the cave where they had spent the night.

Rocket slowly stalked through the woods looking for food. It had been a day since Rocket had almost went over the cliff and still no sing of humans. Sky kept telling them that it was only a matter of time before they showed up and ruined everything again. Rocket stopped to sniff the air catching an unfamiliar scent, she stopped it reminded her of dragon scent, 'maybe that means more dragons live here' she though hopefully following the scent. Suddenly a terrified wail went up through the wood and Rocket took off racing towards the noise hurriedly. She skidded to a stop at a clearing. In the clearing she spotted a dragon who couldn't have been more than six years old giving ferocious growls at two shapes huddled together on the ground. On closer inspection she discovered the shapes where actually humans, two females they didn't looks large enough to be full grown. One held a short knife out as if she thought she could fend off the young dragon with the tiny weapon.

Rocket watched as the young orange scaled dragon lunges at the two terrified humans causing the one holding the knife to stumble backwards and drop the weapon. The Young dragon released a small chuckle "not so tough without you weapons are you" he taunted poking the humans. One of them released a pained cry and Rocket looked closer to see her bleeding from one leg, 'that's why they haven't tried to run' she realizes. The young dragon continued to circle them poking the one who had dropped the knife. She felt rage boil through her, maybe it was because he hadn't even given the humans a chance, maybe it was because She could understand the fear showing in the humans eyes, or maybe its because she felt bad for these humans.

Angrily She surged out of her hiding spot releasing a roar. The young orange dragon looked up terrified. Rocket leapt towards him snapping her jaws just inches from his wing. With a terrified squeal the You orange dragon turned around and raced away, Rocket followed snapping at his tail as he leapt into the air. He hurriedly flapped his wings flaying away as fast as he could, Rocket watched as he disappeared. Rocket turns back the the humans lowering her head to stare at them, the uninjured one had regained her knife, and now stood protectively over the other one who lay dazed on the floor. She took another step foreword until She was barley a foot away from the one with a knife, "I'll call you Fighter" She says with a smile. Fighter lashes the knife towards her nose. Rocket lifts her nose out of Fighters reach and turns to study the injured one who whimpered slightly. "Alright Fighter, I guess I should take you guys home" she says and gently scoops up the injured human. Carefully she places the human on her back, she looks around for Fighter, finally spotting her, Fighter quickly ran at Rocket with an angry noise she brought the knife down on her front paw. Rocket gave a roar of pain and was careful not to knock the human off her back. "Maybe I should just eat you" she snarls using her other talon to pick Fighter up and place her on her back with the other human. With a snort Rocket carefully removes the knife from where it was stuck between two scales. She growled in pain as she felt blood running out of the wound. "Alright let's get you home" she growls spreading her wings. With a squeak of fear Fighter raps one arm around Rockets neck and the other around her injured friend.

Rocket leapt up into the air spreading her wings wide to fly over the forest. Fighter released a fearful noise and her grip tightened. Rocket flew as low as she could without throwing off the humans or hitting a tree. She sees the cliff where she had almost fallen the day before and prepared to bank downwards. As she flys over the edge and starts the deep decent , she notices the humans are surprisingly quiet. She reaches the bottom of the cliff and land in the forest not far from the outer walls of the settlement.

She crouched down and twists her head to look at the humans on her back. Fighter looked at her and carefully slid off her back onto the floor. She reaches up and gently pulls her friend off the dragons back. The humans then reaches into her pouch tied around her waist and pulls out a small white vine like thing that she starts rapping around her injured friends wound. Rocket turns away crouching about to take off as the human release a noise as if the long her to wait. Rocket turns back to look at the humans as she runs up the white vine things clutched in her hand. She sits down in front of Rockets talon the one she had cut with the knife. Carefully she reaches out towards the talon and starts to rap the white things around it. Rocket lifts her paw to make it easier for the human to rap her wound. Once Fighter is down she takes a step back to examine her handy work. "Thank you" she says staring at the small human who looked up at her with wide brown eyes. Rocket took a step back spreading her sky blue wings and taking off. She didn't notice the settlement peeping there weapons to shoot her until she was hit by a boulder. She yelled in surprise as the large rock smashed into her tail knocking her off balance. She looks towards the city to see the humans preparing to launch more rocks at her and quickly flys towards the top of the cliff. She heard more rocks slam into the mountain side as she dodged them. She flew over the top of the cliff and dives into the forest hurrying back to her friends.
