Chapter 4

Chapter 4: The next death

"Oh trust me, I'm already as good as dead" I tell this Sans guy. I basically am, so why not just face the truth?

"Well then, some LOVE wouldn't be bad. I've been needing some, I'll go soft if I don't get some more" Sans says as an insane grin breaks out across his face.

"Um.... I'd love to stay, but I think I hear Toriel calling for me! Bye now!" I break off into a sprint back towards the way I came, the ruins. Once I reach the doors, I tug and tug on them. But no matter what I do they won't budge.

"Trying to run? Sorry brat, but that won't work. And if you run from me, you run straight into the boss. So either way, you die and we get the final soul we need. How about it brat?" BRAT?! Who the hell does he think he is?! Ugh, I hate it when people..... well, monsters in this case, anyways I hate it when they think that they're all that! "Don't worry Brat, your soul will be put to good use"

"And that apparently oh so good cause is?" I questioned him.

"Freeing us so we can destroy humanity!" He exclaims as his insane grin becomes larger. With me cornered, I take in his appearance. Don't know why, but I just am.

"Like what you see?" He wiggles his "eyebrows" as he catches me staring. "Well too bad, cause you won't be seeing this for much longer!" He let's lose a deep and frightening laugh. I start to look closely at his necklace.

"You're...."

"I'm a what?! Spit it out!"

"You're a save point," I say as I grab the save point, which saves my progress. No way am I fighting Toriel all over again.

"You saved your point, didn't you?" Sans growls.

"No, I used it to go to Timbuktu," I say, my words laced with sarcasm "Use your head, of course I saved my point!"

"So you're basically the new Frisk, huh? Look, just kill yourself and don't hit any buttons. You'd be doing the world a favor!" Sans yells at me.

"SANS! WHERE ARE YOU?! YOU NEED TO BE ON WATCH FOR HUMANS!" A very.... loud voice yells. It distracts Sans so I take this chance to run away from him. Unfortunately, I run straight into an even taller and scarier skeleton. That's it, I'm fucking doomed.

"AHA! IT SEEMS THAT I, THE GREAT PAPYRUS, HAS CAUGHT A HUMAN! THE LAST HUMAN WE NEED IN FACT!" Yells the gigantic skeleton who I assume is Papyrus, or as Sans calls him, boss. I have found something new to be afraid of. Do the monsters get more frightening as I go along? This entire thing is looking more and more like a video game with every piece of information I get. Maybe I'm just dreaming, maybe this is actually real. There is no way for me to tell. I can feel the pain when I'm killed, yet I can't all at the same time. This entire journey has been so confusing. My own thoughts are even starting to confuse me. For example, why do I feel more at home down here than I did at my actual home?

Anyways, I don't think I can beat this guy. But I'm not wanting to listen to Sans and just die for good. I'm filled with DETERMINATION to get back home. After all, home is where the heart is. Maybe once I get back to the surface my mind will be cleared and my thoughts will actually make some sense. This entire experience is scary, but I feel happy down here. I should have just stayed with Toriel. At least I made her not want to kill me, unlike these other monsters. This entire time, Flowey and the voice haven't muttered a single word. That makes me even more terrified of Papyrus.

"I WILL HAVE TO DELIVER YOU TO THE CAPITAL. THEN AGAIN, WHERE'S THE FUN IN THAT?" Suddenly, a bone comes flying towards me and pierces my stomach. Looking down, I see the bone just sticking out of both ends of me. All at the same time, this hurts but yet it doesn't. My experience down here so far has been very confusing. What do I have to go through just to get home? My soul then breaks in two in front of my very eyes. To any normal person, that kind of sight would break them and their spirit. But I'm no normal person, I've even gotten used to seeing it break.

Looking over at Sans, I see the humongous scowl on his face. Just to provoke him, I grin. Probably not the best choice on my part but he won't remember anyways. Only Flowey seems to remember, but that's just fine. All of a sudden, everything fades to black as the two buttons appear in front of my face.

Sighing, I look into the inky black darkness surrounding me. What if I did listen to Sans? I could stop it from loading somehow and just stay here. I'd finally be doing the world a favor. They could use my soul to escape the confinements of the Underground and I'll be dead. Everything would work out for the world. But then again, I'd be leaving Flowey in the clutches of those bloodthirsty monsters. He's a monster himself but he'd be eaten alive out there. He's too friendly and innocent. I'll keep going, for Flowey. Maybe I could even find a way to bring him with me through the barrier.

After the blinding flash of white, I find myself mere inches away from Sans' face. It looks like he's in the position to kiss me, but I know better than that. He has me pinned up against the wall to make sure I don't get away. This is right after I saved my point with his necklace.

"You little brat....... you loaded your save point"

"Y-you remember?! H-how?!"

"Dunno, nor do I care. Now, ready to hand yourself over and accept death with open arms? Cause we'll kill you over and over just to get that soul of yours"

"I don't believe you"

"Do you really wanna test that? I'd be fine with killing you over and over. Just means that I get the sweet sweet chance of seeing your blood splattered on the snow"

"That'd be a waste of good snow"

"Depressed, huh?"

"You guessed it"

"Let me guess, you jumped down here?"

"Nope. Tripped and fell"

"Well that's a new one, the depressed ones just all jumped down here"

".............. are you going to kill me or what?"

Sans takes a deep breath and looks away for a split second before facing me again. He backs away from me and puts his hands back in his pockets.

"Wanna go to Grillbys?"

"Wh-what?" I question him, taken aback from his sudden kindness.

"You're probably cold and starving. Going to Grillbys would be good for ya. And don't you dare think I'm being nice!" He spits out the word nice as if it's poison, "You need to be nice and healthy before the king kills you" a sickly grins spreads across his face. There's a few moments of silence before I finally speak up.

"Th-thank you........" I finally say. Sans looks completely shocked.

"Wh-what did you say?"

"Haven't you heard of thanking people for doing something nice before?" I giggle.

"If you haven't noticed, no one down here does anything nice. Except for me at least now, I've always noticed how something is wrong with me" Sans sighs. I feel a pang of guilt, he's offering to do something nice for me and here I am making him think that something is wrong with him. I really am a terrible person.

"There's nothing wrong with you Sans, you're just kind. Sometimes, kindness is all we can give. Sometimes, kindness is enough. At least this shows that you actually have a heart deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep deep-"

"That's enough, I get your point" Sans growls, "Now let's get a move on, before Papyrus finds you"

"Alright, let's go" I whisper.

"Hold my hand" he whispers. The very moment he says this I feel my entire face heating up. His own face is tinted with red. "Don't get any ideas! I'm just teleporting us!" Yep, I'm practically a tomato by now. After a flash of red, we appear in a cozy building. After taking in my surroundings I come to the conclusion that this place is some sort of restaurant or bar. It feels nice in here. Or at least, it did before I felt the bile taste of vomit creep up my throat. I have to do something disgusting, I have to swallow it. If I puke in here, well that wouldn't be very good.

Once I carry out the gross deed, I get a questionable look from Sans.

"Why the hell did you make that face?"

"I was about to get sick thanks to your teleportation," I glare at him. He looks even more confused. With a sigh, I continue explaining, "There's a thing called motion sickness. Humans get it sometimes. You teleporting me caused it to act up. Understand?" He just slowly nods at me. Facepalming, I lose DETERMINATION to explain this to him.

"Let's just go sit down......." Sans says as he walks over to the counter. I sit down next to him and notice who's behind the counter. It's a man that's literally on fire. (Welp. We know it's not Dan. AUTHOR AWAY! And by the way, Grillby will be speaking in sign language. He doesn't actually have a mouth *begins typing furiously*) He turns around and looks over at Sans. He then starts using sign language, which I sadly don't know. Whatever he says causes Sans to glare at him.

"You can't have this human. She's mine, and only mine. I'll find another way to pay my tab" Sans growls, "C'mon brat, let's just go"

"Sans? What'd he say?"

"Nothing brat, let's just leave" Sans says as he grabs my hand and pulls me outside into the freezing cold. Sans is a little overprotective, isn't he? Looks like I'll have to get used to that.

"Sans..... I was fine in there. We didn't have to leave"

"Yes, we did have to leave. He wanted me to use you as payment. You're my ticket to get somewhere. If I give you to the king I'll no longer be looked down on by every monster down here...... I'll show them that I'm not too soft. I'll show everyone. I'm not just the older brother of The Terrible Papyrus, I'm much more than that" he mutters as he teleports us once again.

A/n: Sorry about the horrible chapter.... my writing skills are pretty bad. But here's the chapter!
