"Behind his cruelty and charisma is the melancholy and longing he tries so hard to hide."

-Sancho (My OC)

There were those not so rare moments when Sancho would lower her guard ad unfortunately get pulled into her master's ridiculously large bed.

This was one of those times.

Instead of her usual sigh, a slightly frustrated grunt exited her lips as she squirmed around in the tight embrace of the evidently larger man. She swore, he could be quite a handful sometimes- scratch that, most of the time.

Finding no success in trying to escape out of the strong arms that possessively wrapped around her, she surrendered quietly and decided to just lay there and stare at the dark ceiling.

"I won't be able to prepare breakfast for tomorrow if you do this, you know?" Her question fell flat when a response was nowhere to be found after a couple of minutes.

Expecting no response anymore, she just mentally prepared the lunch in her head, hoping the kitchen staff would be able to take care of breakfast.

She ought to rip his arms off her as soon as he dozes off but it didn't seem to be an option. He was wide awake, she knew and he knew she knew. The blonde man didn't seem like falling asleep real soon.

She might as well just elicit a response from him.

"Can I at least take my shoes off?" Like the former question, it was fully ignored, well, until she followed it up with another question.

"Or change my clothes?"

Instead of a verbal response, she felt him push himself off the bed til he hovered over her smaller form.

Amber orbs met sleepy ebony ones. Sleepy as his eyes might appear to be, she could still see the ever so familiar glint of mischief in his eyes. 'What is it now?' She nervously thought.

As much as she was used to physical contact with him, she couldn't stop the goosebumps that ran all over her arms when his breath hit her face.

'I should stop choosing products for him just because I like them. Especially this mint scent, hits right on the spot Damnit.'

"I'll take it off for you, love." Husky but playful, the words burned her cheeks up and she mentally cursed how overly sensitive she was being. Oh how she hated that endearment.

As much as she tried to keep their relationship platonic, it's times like these where he breaks through the walls she tries so hard to put up.

Shutting her eyes tight and breathing out loudly, she consented. "Fine." She said.

Upon her approval his hands were slow as it traveled down her legs while still trapping her with his other hand. Without even looking, he slid her loafers off and threw them down the floor.

Now bringing his focus back to her upper body, his eyes made contact with Sancho's.

Leaving those wavering eyes, his stare travelled all over her face as if it was his first time gazing upon her visage. No matter how many times he looks at her, he'll never get over how beautiful she was and he rejoiced over the fact that she was his and his alone.

"Sancho..." Doflamingo's call was softened but his baritone still sent a shiver down the redhead's back. He was interestingly different from his  usual smirking mess but somehow it felt fine.

He was needy and yet melancholic- a side of him she rarely saw yet she loved like the rest of him.

A short pause came between them before Doffy crashed his lips against hers. It was passionate like usual but surprisingly sweet and soft- something they never really had, he was never the gentle type obviously.

A soft grimace formed on her lips. She knew what was about to happen and she didn't like it, not even a little bit.

While they were connected,
'I should stop lying to myself.'-she thought before she kissed back, receiving his passion willingly.

Sancho awoke over the feeling of shaking beside her. The shaking was rather violent, and she found herself perplexed enough to open her eyes.

What welcomed her was the well toned bare chest of Doflamingo, a rather familiar sight for her since, well...you know why. But then, something was wrong.

He was the one shaking.

Immediately she looked up and saw his face twisted in anger and fear despite being asleep. Realizing what was happening, she tried to move but she couldn't. She was trapped between his arms so tightly that she couldn't free herself without using a force strong enough to hurt him.

Going with what was the best course of action for her, she slapped his chest with enough force to wake him up.

And sure enough, he did. But there were still remnants of the emotions he had in his nightmare flashing across his eyes. Worry filled her and she hurriedly broke free of his grasp and pushed herself up the bed.

She hovered over him, with one hand, the other stroking his cheek. "Doffy..." She softly whispered, calming him down.

He shut his eyes tightly and let out a shaky sigh. His body had stopped shaking but he was nowhere near calm. He was still in shock and whatever he saw in his dreams was still haunting him.

And she knew what it exactly was. His past that he never wanted to remember was haunting him again.

She laid back on the bed and pulled him over to lay on top of her own body to which he consented to. She minded not the feeling of their bare skin rubbing against each others nor the weight the man who was one foot taller than her had. All she cared about right now was calming her master down.

Sancho buried her fingers through his short blonde locks, pressing him more unto her bare chest. Softly, she started to hum.

Taking it all of her emotions to remember the lyrics to the song the Donquixote Matriarch sang to them on storms, she sang despite the impending vocal cracks.

I remember tears streaming down your face
When I said I'll never let you go.

As soon as the lines exited her lips, she felt his heavy breathe on her become lighter.

When all your shadows almost killed your light.
I remember you said don't leave me here alone
But all that's left and gone tonight

Her own breathe hitched in her throat at that part, she herself was about to cry. Flashbacks hit the back of her head like stones mocking her. She, after all, left him in his direst moments.

Just close your eyes the sun is coming down

The fire that consumed the Donquixote family's house still remained reflected in her eyes as she reminisced.

You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now

And it killed her inside.

Come morning light, you and I'll be safe and sound.

But that incident killed the remaining humanity he had, giving birth to this monster.

To think that this monster who destroyed her whole life was the same monster she now loves so much that she's willing to lay her life for him.

By the end of the song, the giant of a man was laying peacefully on top of her. He suddenly pulled away from her chest and pushed himself up to look at her.

His expression was calm yet his eyebrows were still creased together, his eyes were also narrowed and his lips dropped into a frown. Unlike Sancho who could see clearly through the darkness, Doflamingo could only make out her features through the moonlight.

Her once strong willed features were carved with worry. And her eyes glistened. She was crying the whole time- something she has yet to notice herself.

"Are you okay now?" The rasp in her voice was evident and he nodded in reply.

He dipped low and he touched their foreheads. There, their breathe mixed before he stole one last kiss, assuring her he was fine, and pulled her to his chest this time.

He had put her through so much torture, physical and mental years ago and yet here she was in his arms, staring at what she thought before to be a heartless chest but now containing a heart that could possibly have her inside.

It was terrible like this. She wants a platonic relationship yet she can't stop both his advances and her own heart. She was pathetic and ridiculous. All she ever wanted was to bring back his light without capturing his heart.

Her amber eyes gaze up to his ever so handsome features only to find him staring back at her through the darkness. In that one moment,he had captured her yet again and for once, the thoughts clogging her mind cleared up.

Sancho offered him a smile of relief to which he received with confusion.

Suddenly, it didn't matter anymore, the worries can wait for later. What's important is that she's here with him, alive, keeping him Safe and Sound.
