In kuro's mind

"Help...help...I'm drowning...I'm drowning" the little cat jumped about in the black stuff "what should we do kuro?We're being overwhelmed by mahuri's emotions...fear...regret...rejection...if mahuri hadn't taken you home, he w I kid never have felt these things so strongly" Kuro starts getting covered int the black stuff " whether you go, you always bring misfortune with you..."

"What a pain..." Kuro muttered, back when in reality, his eyes widen from a certain feeling and he Wounds up grabbing Mahiru's shoulder and bit down on his neck, His eyes widened but didn't move.

the chain appeared between the two. "K-Kuro?" Then shoved him away, he looked up at him clenching his neck " what are you?..." Suddenly he hunched over and the transparent cat from inside Kuro spouted out of his back about twelve times larger than him

a black tear like liquid dropped to the ground and burnt slightly.

Suddenly the cats stitched up mouth opened slightly and the black liquid poured from its mouth and surrounded everyone, Lily protecting the the girl plus his eve

"This is unexpected, a surprise...that's a problem...what should we do now? Tsubaki?" As soon as she turned to him, he was gone " I guess he changed his mind...that's a problem..."

"Kuro?" Mahiru whispered "what the hell is going on?! What is that thing?!?" the purple creature let out a terrifying growl.

Kuro wasn't responding. Suddenly the goo began to get higher.

'This is bad.. i feel like...I'm drowning!'

"Mahiru!! Here!" He looked over and saw Belkia and Sakuya being pulled up in the stings, reaching for him. " Sakuya!"

"Bad form" the girl says with belkia's voice "your trying to save your enemy and that's a problem" she said

" shut up" Sakuya yelled "Come on mahuri! You have to order your SerVamp to kill me now!! Its what I wanted!!its the reason I lied to you and brought you guys here!!" Sakuya exclaimed. 

Just then

'BANG'

Kuro fell to the ground with a bullet shot through him or rather coin shot through him, the wound and the liquid disappeared.

' Kuro...'mahuri stared in shock, Mahiru gasped when he saw two figures along with a female on the roof " go on jeje, get on With it" someone on the roof said, one oh the people jumped down " mikoto go check your sister" the girl jumps down and runs to the lust pair along with ann

" Ann!"

" your the yellow stair!" Lily says surprised, misono glared at the figure on the roof " that-" Misono gets knocked out from someone, who turned out to be mikoto

" why'd you?-" she cut Lily off

" he already told me the story try, I know" she says referring to the man on the roof "don't worry" he nods understanding

suddenly a person with bags not here head jumped on kuro's back, he shot repeatably at kuro, while the two eves just watched, Kuro turned back into a cat" who's that?" Sakuya muttered as

The guy walked over and picked up two bags from the ground and put them on his head

before going to attack Sakuya but he was pulled back by the strings " looks like we're outnumbered and that's a problem..." the girl said " time to go home.." she pulled belkia up with her strings

" yeah okay..." Sakuya groaned getting back up " thanks for saving me, but you could have been gentler.."

"Sakuya?" Mahuri called softly, He turned and sent a sad look. "You don't really wanna kill us? It was trick?" Mahiru exclaimed, he then shielded his eyes from the light and caught his wrist glow he threw at him

he was gone

"Where'd he go..." Mahiru muttered.

Suddenly the sound of car tires screeching and a car ran right threw the gate " what the crap?!"

and the doors opened revealing the two pink haired girls and a dark haired man. "Is the girl dead?" The blue haired man asked when suddenly the two pink haired girls ran to lily and Misano.

"Tanaka's injured!" They said in unison, like usual. "thank goodness your here! She needs a doctor!!" Lily exclaimed picking up the unconscious girl while mikoto helped out the eve who was knocked out in the car "Ann.." Mahiru muttered sadly. "Are you okay?" Lily asked looking at Mahiru, mikoto got in the car angry with herself

"Yeah I'm fine just take care of her..." Mahiru nodded. lily nodded and he was bout to leave

" she's hurt..and it's my fault..." mahuri muttered

"There's no reason for you to feel responsible for what happened" a thick Australian accent stated

. "Huh?" Mahuri Looked up I saw a shadowed figure walking towards them. "A person must take full responsibility for their own actions.... No matter what. I'm sure your friend knew exactly what she was getting in to when she chose to save him. Nice to meet ya Young man. Beside me is the SerVamp of envy. His names is doubt doubt , you might have guessed I'm his eve. Just a small old antique dealer traveling the world" the man came out of the shadows with blonde hair and black and red hat on, a strange doll in his hands.

He was a bit taller than Mahiru. Suddenly he put the doll in Mahiru's face.

"Would you please hold me Mahiru!" He cooed in a girly voice.

"Er..Wait how do you know my name?" He asked

Suddenly a strange aura came over the guy and he held the doll tightly. "No don't be afraid Abel! Its alright. This man is not our enemy! Your safe! Huh? You think children now a days are too violent? Haha don't worry so much Abel darling" he cooed.

'Why is everyone we meet a weirdo?...' Mahiru wondered

"What's with that look!!! Don't stare at he with such lust in your eyes!! Pervert! She's just a doll!" Blondie screamed st Mahiru. "What are you talking about?!!!" Mahiru screamed.

Suddenly there was another gun shot. Jumping slightly I looked over and saw Blondie had a bullet hole going through his hat. "Enough talk. Its time for you to keep your promise!" Doubt Doubt growled.  "Ehh? What was that?" Blondie challenged teasingly

"You promised if in followed your order you'd let me drink your blood" doubt doubt stated

"Huh? Sorry! I can't hear you!!" Blondie cooed.  Suddenly doubt doubt shot rapidly at him as he jumped around and dodged the bullets.

" jeje, stop! Your being mean!" He laughed

He then handed the little cat to mahuri
"Sorry we had to take him down so brutally. I wish we could have destroyed Tsubaki's subclass before he managed to escape" Blondie sighed, Mahiru flinched

"You heard him that what he wanted. Well at least you know you don't have the stomach for something like that. Though you did come close" flashes of him beating Sakuya up flashed through his head

"I imagine it would have been pretty traumatizing to kill your best friend. Even if he was asking you to. Ya know mahuri, I can teach you how to nullify a SerVamp contract if your interested..." He trailer off.

His eyes widened slightly a looked at him shocked " you can?.."

"I mean its none of my business. I know but I figured you might be regretting your choices. You never thought everything would turn out this way right? Contracts like this can be scary. If you lose control and start to fear yourself than your servamp won't hesitate to gobble you up whole" he gasped

"just let me know if your ever interested. I can help you go back to a normal student" he smiled tilting his hat at me before turning to leave. "W-wait! Who are you? Why were you here?" Mahiru asked. "I thought I told ya? I'm just a tracker and antique dealer, isn't that right abel? " And with that he left.

Time skip

At his home, he layed in his bed, facing the wall, just then his door opened " mahuri, shouldn't you be getting ready for school?"

He didn't respond, but instead asked " how are you injuries doing?" Kuro was surprised " I'm all healed up now, I am a vampire after all" he said

" yep...you are in fact a vampire..."

" do you regret taking me in, is that was this so about?" Kuro asked "....shut up..." was all he said, so Kuro closed the door and walked away "of course you do..."

' I don't regret taking you in...I just...don't know what I'm supposed to do now...what's the point of this power...I thought that if I had it, I could help others....so far it seems the only thing I've managed to do is hurt people...' he stared at the tattoo on his wrist ' and I Shouldn't have let Ann get hurt!...now she's in the hospital...'

While mahuri walked to the school

Walking down the street sadly, he glanced at his favorite restaurant and froze in horror as he saw Tsubaki sitting down

as if he were normal. After a long he slowly entered.

"Take a seat anywhere" the person behind the counter said looking back at Tsubaki to see him staring at him

. "Oh? Who do we have here? What an unexpected surprise! Do you come here often? Big sushi fan?" Tsubaki smirked.

"Don't look so glum. Here can I interest you in a little salmon roll?" He held up a dish.

"it eggcellent!" He made a pun. I looked at him dryly as he laughed hysterically at his own joke. "Ah.. Not interesting at all..." His mood suddenly switched and he poured tea in my cup.

"Sakuya.. How did he become you s-subclass" he rested his arms on the counter and stared down at the light Carmel colored wood.

".. You really are clueless aren't you?" Tsubaki smirked.

. "Do you want to know?" He asked "I'll tell you the whole boring story! Sakuya was the child of liars, born in to a town of liars , the first person to tell him a lie was none other than his big sister" Tsubaki began.

Mahiru's eyes widened as he listened to the part while he pushed his sister was pushed off the balcony

"Sakuya's father had told him to tell the price that his sister fell off the balcony when they were playing around. That it all was just a tragic accident. He said that if he didn't go along with the story the same thing would happen to him. 'You don't want your sisters death to be in vain, right?' He asked. And so Sakuya lied for the very first time and his family received a huge life insurance pay out. The neighbors all knew something bad was going on inside Sakuya's home but no one said anything.... They didn't wanna get involved. They lied. In a way the covered up his sisters death. It was really no surprise to anyone when six years later Sakuya found himself doomed to follow the same path as his sister"

"Here's another thing I bet you didn't know. Subclasses are created when a dying human drinks a SerVamps blood and subclasses have to obey the SerVamp's who made them. They make such good servants. Hahaha I can tell by the look on your face that you didn't know any of this!" He laughed darkly

"Some best friend you are~" he teased. "he began to laugh. "Ah not interesting at all" he hummed.

"Check please sir"  mahuri clenched his fist, then tsubaki he stood up

"I'll leave before big brother gets scary. He's in your bag? Right? I can feel his murderous aura from here" Tsubaki smirked. "But unfortunately I don't feel like playing very much today. Goodbye" Suddenly he starts walking away.

Tsubaki...wait...where's Sakuya...you have to...give him back...why can't move!!'

"Its all my fault. If only I tried to understand Sakuya better! I should have been honest with him! I was just trying to keep him out of all this!thats why...I lied..."

A flash entered his mind

"So you got in a fight? Go on can choose whatever dish you want off the belt" uncle smiled

"You aren't mad at me?" Mahiru asked timidly.

"You know, mahuri. Being a good friend to someone is actually pretty simple" he rubbed his head "You just need the resolve to say I am your friend no matter what and I believe in you. I care. that's all" 

He clenched his fists

"Its okay to make mistakes. I've made plenty of them. But you shouldn't have any regrets" uncle sighed

He started running to the school

"You'll also have to learn that everything that's good for you isn't always good for others. People are different. Its just the way it is, but we can still lean on each other in times of need. That's what make humanity work, we get through life together. We look out for one another"

'I'm sorry Sakuya...after all that time together...now I can hardly remember what your smile looks like...' he then remembered back when they were in middle school together, and that's when he saw it

At the school

He quickly rushed up the stairs to the classroom, just as he was about to turn the corner, he bumped into someone " ouch" both fall on the ground " ow, sorry about that you okay?" Mahuri asked the other boy with orange hair in front of him, who was...sitting on a pillow? " yeah I'm perfectly fine" he replied messing with his glasses " most potential problems are easily avoided if your always prepared

He got up and walked away, leaving the confused team

Mahuri finally arrived to the class "Mahuri! Your here! Finally!" Koyuki smiled he looked over and saw them all together, except one in particular

"We were wondering when you'd get here!" Ryusei smiled. " where's Sakuya?" He exclaimed "Hm? Sakuya?" Mahiru's eyes widened

'No way...are everyone's memories gone now?...'Walking in he looked around.

"Don't you remember him?" He asked walking in slowly. "Huh? Of course. How could we forget a did like that?" Ryusei sighed

" but Sakuya transferred schools, last week" he explained

"Yeah its too bad he had to leave right before the festival... He was so excited about it...Just like Ann..." Koyuki sighed sadly as he and Mahiru stared st Sakuya's desk, clenching his fists.

"Yeah but now he'll miss it" Mahiru sighed shoving his hands in his pockets. "I don't know, maybe he will show up anyways. I'll text him after school" Ryusei smiled.

' he left his name behind...part of their memories...but why?'

"But its kind of weird thinking about Sakuya.. For me at least. It like there's a blank space...I mean k can remember what he was like but I just can't picture his face.. There's just nothing there when I try to remember" Ryusei sighed scratching his head.

'Sakuya...is this what you wanted...Your a coward...'

"You think I'll recognize him if he shows tomorrow?" Ryusei muttered "Don't worry. I definitely will" mahuri replied

At the hospital

Ann was lying in the hospital bed, mikoto was there along with Sakura and naoka, Sakura brushing her hand against Ann's cheek with tears drooping from her eyes

Ann then groaned which caused them to gasp " Ann?!"

Her eyes fluttered open " big...sister?"

" Ann..."

" what:..happened?" Ann asked

" you got attacked...saving that boy" mikoto says gripping her sister in anger " by..."

" Sakuya...." they gasp at the mention of his name " I know...but I'm okay....I'm still here.." she smiled weakly

" Ann...."

" you idiot!" Mikoto exclaimed making all their eyes widened " do you not understand what would have happened?! You could have died!" She started to tear up " you would've died like...."

Ann felt bad

" that boy has been waiting a lot for you to wake up" naoka says

Ann looked up " he has?" She asked surprised

" do you want to talk to him?" Sakura asked, which Ann nods

Misono was sitting in the waiting room until Sakura entered " you can see her if you like" she says

" is she?" He asks but she assures him " she's okay, she woke up, she wants to talk to you" she says

" o-okay" he says nervously getting up

She lead him to the door where the other two sisters were standing " we need to go, thank you for trying to save her" mikoto says as they started walking away

"'Wait..." they suddenly stopped to see him bowing while their eyes widened with confusion " w-what are you doing??!" Mikoto exclaimed

" I'm sorry...."

" what?........"

" I failed to protect her, instead she ended  up protecting me, and nearly got killed"

" hey, don't worry, our sister has always been the type to want to help overs, I...just wish she'd stop putting herself in harms way, we dont want to loose her..." Sakura says

" I understand...I promise. I won't let her be harmed again..."

" thank you" Sakura smiles, the three start to walk away as he stand in front of the door

He hesitated, but opened the door, alerting the girl inside

" oh...hello" she smiled shyly

" hello, I never got to properly introduce myself, I'm misono alicen" he says " nice to meet you, I'd tell you my name, but you already know it" she laughed sheepishly

" anyway how are you feeling?" He asked

" a little better, it's a little hard to walk, but I can't feel the wound much, even if I do they just give me pain relief" she says

" then that means your still in pain..." he says while gripping his fists

" no you didn't" she says, His eyes widened and looked up at her " you did save me, you brought me here just in time, if not for you, I would have died...so thank you"

After their talk they were heading back, Ann looked at her phone and noticed the text messages

How are your injuries

Thanks for helping us fight that last time

I'm really sorry for taking so long to talk to you

I'm sorry you got hurt

I'll come see you soon

Feel better

She smiled at them

as the two sat in the car on the way home, Lily changes back into human form

"I made such a big entrance...but I couldn't protect my friends..." lily turned and saw him shaking while gripping his fists " how am o supposed to face them now?...lily I...I want to become stronger..." the words came out in a small sob

Lily smiled sadly, turned to the side

At the festival

A certain green haired boy was lurking around the halls, white and green jog suit and a mask, just then he heard koyuki's voice " hi everyone! We're with class 1.6, stop by our cafe and I'll guarantee you'll have a great time!"he was currently walking around the hall with yuko and ryusei, with a board around his neck

They walked right passed him, he did look back and his eyes widened slightly at the message behind

' we're waiting for you Sakuya!'

As he turned back, a black hate was hurried right into his face "Ow!" He sat up "What the heck!!" Sakuya screamed

. "Sakuya!!" Mahiru screamed running towards him.

Suddenly he jumped up and threw Kuro back at him.

He caught him easily and chased after him. "Hey! Come back here we need to talk!!" He continues chasing him up the stairs

"Talk? What, are you out of your damned mind?" He screamed back

Suddenly he stopped at one of the stairs before turning around and yelling back. "I tried to kill you! And your friend too! And ann! Did you forget?!"

"Your such a liar! You reached your hand out to us! besides Ann' injuries weren't that bad!! Though you should still totally apologise!" He hollered.

Suddenly he stopped at the top of one of the stairs. "Like hell I will!! Listen you my enemy now"

"No your not! Your my friend!"Suddenly he began to run again.

"How can you still say that?! We were never really childhood friends! Those were just fake memories that I gave you!!" Sakuya screamed back before busting out the doors to the roof, Sakuya on the railing

"We have only know each other for one year! That's all. And I was lying to you the whole time! Right to your face! Don't you get it?" He growled.

"Even if that is the truth, it was a fun year! Just come back!" Mahiru yelled

"No. I can't be with you. Not anymore, I am not human. I'm different from everyone else at school! So.. Different" suddenly he fell back.

He gasped and ran for him, jumping and grabbing him by the collar, and summoning his broom " fly!" They took off before hitting the ground

"I don't care if your human or vampire! Okay? This may all be incredibly knew and a not terrifying to me but I still have the power to grab your outstretched hand!" I whimpered slightly when suddenly we began falling. "Ah!" We both screamed loudly as they crashed through the trees

"So the weapon let you fly? That's cool" Sakuya lay on the ground as the two panted

This was actually my first try" Marhiru panted sitting up " but I figured a black cat and a broom right? It seemed pretty obvious, it had to work"

"Seriously Mahiru? Your a mess" Sakuya laughed

He couldn't help but laugh with him, They laughed for a bit until mahuri noticed Sakuya's laughs had turned in to whimpers and sobs. "S-Sakuya?"

"I-ai wanted more chances to l-laugh like this! Bu- but I think this is it. Ya know? When I met Tsubaki, I was in such a bad place.. He didn't lie. Tsubaki was the only one. He lent out his hand to me.. Tsubaki saved me" Sakuya sighed.

Mahuri's eyes widened

'It's almost like...their the same...' the memory of his uncle with Mahiru as a kid; then the image of Sakuya and tsubaki as a kid

"I can't betray him. If he tells me to kill..."

" no! We'll stoo tsubaki!" Mahuri declared "Huh?"

"Thinking simply" Mahiru smiled. "Kuro and I are the only ones who can take him down! Along with Ann! You don't just have Tsubaki right now Sakuya! You've got me, Ann Along with everyone else too!! Your not alone! We're here for you"

. "Thanks...Mahuri... Please...both of you don't lie to me anymore" Sakuya looked down. "We won't" Mahiru exclaimed

"I really do wanna believe you.."

"... thank you. what you have said.. I needed it. Thought I still can't stay with you. I hope you understand"  Sakuya disappearing in to thin air.

"I'll fix this!" Mahuri yelled

"Kuro?...I want to stop Tsubaki....and protect ann....This time I'm serious but to do that...well" Mahiru turned to him "your gonna have to help me get stronger!" He turned to him. He sighed

"Your such a pain"

With Sakuya

Flashback

He was sitting in the shade, two students were looking around the wall he sat around, a boy with brown hair and a girl with silver hair, Mahiru and Ann

'A year ago, I snuck Into a random middle school, just to kill a little time' he turned to the two, and Mahiru lent him a hand to shake while Ann gave a sweet smile

'But when I saw that simple outstretched hand form him, and her smile, Something happened, I thought, hey, I want to get to know these guys...'

Flashback end

He stopped jumping from roof to roof and
Looked towards the hospital seeing a familiar girl sitting in one of the rooms from the window resting

As she rested she awoke to the sound of wind blowing the curtains around, but what confused her, was there wasn't a drafted to take  blame, until she noticed a paper on her desk, she picked it up and opened it, then she gasped when reading

' I'm sorry, I'm a complete idiot, especially for hurting you, I don't deserve forgiveness for what I did, but I'll be i hope you can forgive me

She smiled when she knew who it was from ' Sakuya...I forgive you...'a small tear slip down her cheek

'Mahuri...Ann...thanks for finding me that day...thanks for reaching out to me...my friends...' small tears slipped down his cheek while he jumped away
