Chapter 18
That night, Kiyo returned to the assassin's base. His boss was waiting at the end of the alley, and when he saw him, he scolded:
"Now you've got to show your face! Exams must be stressful."
Kiyo said nothing.
"We've already arranged a bunch of quests for you at that time, don't forget to complete them."
He pointed to the people sitting in there:
"Or we'll gut you."
With that, he dragged Kiyo inside, pushed him to the ground, and threw a pistol at him. That guy turned away and went straight outside.
At this moment, the people sitting there began to whisper:
"What an overbearing guy. He thought he had a lot of money so he could do whatever he want."
"But there's nothing we can do. He's powerful, and we're just orphans."
"If I was stronger, I'd definitely escape."
Kiyo sat up, and shoved the gun into his shirt, and his face went serious.
"If you run away, they would chase you. If you try to quit, they would force you to do this rest of your life. They think they have the right to control us."
"So what are we supposed to do?"
Kiyo suddenly saw a sword leaning against the wall, still intact. Thanks to that sword, suddenly something flashed in his mind.
"I have an idea."
Kiyo turned around, saying something unclear. But those people were like is that so? or what else?, surely Kiyo has something in mind.
Later, the other guy came back and told them to hurry, before dawn.
Just like every evening, Kiyo continued to stab for hire on the blacklist, sometimes looking at the panicked faces of innocent people, Kiyo was moved with pity, so he stopped fighting, but they turned to beat him, so he was reluctant to kill them.
The look of horror on the corpses was already ingrained in his mind. Occasionally, if his mind was not at ease, strange voices would criticize him.
To the last person. Kiyo looked back at the list, and there was something unthinkable.
The last one was Sunny, the son of a Captain and a TV reporter.
Right that time, Kiyo was standing at a corner of the wall, leaning against it in a daze.
No way... is my friend blacklisted? I have to kill him?...
Kiyo couldn't believe it, and didn't want to accept it.
I have to do something... I don't kill Sunny but they can't see it...
Kiyo sat down, thinking for a moment.
Here it is. He remembered a trick to erase a ballpoint pen from paper from someone.
Hope they don't find out..
When he returned, Kiyo gave the paper back to his boss. He picked it up and reviewed, without a doubt, and told him to go home.
Kiyo went home, threw his gloves in a trash bag, changed his clothes, showered, and sighed in relief that he was able to protect Sunny, and maybe his trick worked.
So how did Kiyo get away from them? It's simple, he just needs to apply Isopropyl alcohol, because the ink on the paper is small, so he uses a cotton swab to wipe them, but he has to cover the other words he doesn't want to erase.
And he overcame them. Kiyo flopped down on the bed, laughing hysterically for giving those thugs a lesson in their lives. But that sheet is usually thrown away, no one would notice.
But the thing is... even if he didn't kill Sunny, the others will kill him. At this point, he has to pay more attention to Sunny.
The next morning, Sunny still went to school.
Luckily, he was okay. Wait, it looks like it has another wound on its face.
"What's this wound?" - Kiyo approached and asked.
"Ah, I fell yesterday afternoon. It was only a minor injury."
"I see... Be careful."
Sunny just smiled and changed the topic.
Kiyo had some doubts about the wound, but at least his friend was still alive.
