Chapter 3

It had been over a week since the day of moving to the orphanage.

Kiyo had gradually adapted to the environment here and had gotten to know everyone.

However, he still enjoyed having a space of his own. Kiyo did not know why he was like this, and he did not fully aware of himself either.

But being alone forever is boring, so Kiyo decided to go on an adventure by himself, not so urgency but also very important.

It was not really far away, right in this orphanage. And the mission he would do was: to enter the storage area recklessly.

He chose a time when no one noticed much, which was at noon when everyone was still eating. To accomplish this plan, he had to finish eating before everyone else, left right before them.

Kiyo seemed to be different from normal children, right from kindergarten he knew how to make simple plans logically, which could greatly affect his future later, especially when he was a teenager.

Returning to Kiyo's adventure about to begin, after he finished his lunch, he quietly left the cafeteria without saying a word, then walked quickly but calmly to the storage area.

From here, he had prepared a chair enough for him to climb through the iron fence . Pushing it close to there, Kiyo stepped onto the chair without hesitation, clutched the iron bar, and lifted his leg to climb through it.

Kiyo watched carefully to see if anyone was there, or else he would turn his back to the secret area so he could land. However, not as expected, when Kiyo was about to turn, his whole body fell, fell on the land in the other side.

It hurted, but at least he got in. Instead of crying out of pain, Kiyo slowly stood up and went deep inside.

Were there less weapons now? Compared to last week, there were only pistols and knives here, but there was more blood on the floor. What happened here?

Realizing that something was wrong in this area, Kiyo began to feel afraid, afraid because of the dark atmosphere here, in contrast to the outer space he used to know.

Kiyo decided to go into a corner to the right of that place, where the scene became more horrifying for a small child as he went deeper. Blood splattered everywhere, bullets and arrows were scattered on the ground. Empty guns were thrown here, knives were stuck in the wall. Such a scary and disturbing scene.

Kiyo couldn't believe that the orphanage, where he had spent time living and being cared for, had such a disgusting place. How unimaginable it was.

While Kiyo was being bewildered and worried, there was a voice of a man in his forties from behind him:

"Where did you come from?" - He asked.

"Um.. I..." - Kiyo shutter.

Without letting Kiyo finish his sentence, that guy picked up his shirt and threw him out of the iron gate, then pointed at his face:

"Don't ever come here!"

Then he slipped away.

Kiyo panicked because of that scary attitude, he ran out of the place and went straight to class.

This event sometimes haunted Kiyo and he could not do anything about it. The horror scene inside the storage area, and the silhouette of the large man just now, was enough to frighten a young child like Kiyo.

Yuri had just come back, saw that it was not time to sleep, but witnessed Kiyo covered himself with a blanket, not taking off even though he had heard her call.

"Are you sick? Let me get the medicine, ok?"

"I'm not sick..."

"So what's the matter?"

Kiyo did not answer. He could not talk about how he had gone into the weapons storage, so he tried to lie:

"I see bugs.. Poison beetles.."

Yuri thought that Kiyo must be afraid of bugs, so he had to cover his blanket like that, she just slightly smiled:

"Okay, I'll kill them this afternoon."

Her soft voice made Kiyo seem to ease the heaviness in his heart, and he slowly got out of the blanket.

"But next time don't go in there...."

Startled, Kiyo quickly asked what she was talking about. The nanny simply replied:

"It's nothing. Look, your classmates are back."

Did she know what Kiyo had done? Apparently, he was the only one out at that time, wasn't he?

And Kiyo would never figure out why Yuri said that.
