Chapter 1: Prologue
(Hey guys! Chronigma here! Just a quick little a/n just to let you know that I'm doing this story from my character's pov, and two of my friends are doing the same thing, but from their perspectives. I'll leave their profiles in the cast by the time this goes up, so I hope you enjoy all angles of this story! Have fun!)
"Taka, wait up!" "You're too slow, Kyle!" Two kids were running through the streets of a small town out in the middle of nowhere. One was 10 year old Takamori Tomonaga, a kid with neat, short, black hair, bright red eyes, and a bit on the pale side. The other...well that's me, Kyle Crowshine. I was 11 years old at the time, and my hair as always was light brown, spiky, and short, and my eyes are a light blue. I had more of a tan than Taka, but not so much that it was excessive like people seemed to like doing.
Anyway, we were heading towards the forest for our super secret spot we liked to hang out at. Taka was so much faster than me, I barely could ever keep up with him, but I'd always win when it came to brute strength. Besides all that, neither of us knew how much our lives would change that day.
Coming up onto a clearing, Taka had already gotten up into a tree. "Check it out Kyle! Look how high I am!" Taka got excited by just about anything. "Come down from there, you're gonna fall and break something!" "But-but I think I can see our homes from-!" CRACK!!!
For those of you who don't know what that sound means, the branch Taka was standing on broke from under his weight. His body started to fall, but their was no way I could reach him in time! I was standing clear across the clearing, and I was still out of breath. A look of fear spread across my face. Reaching my hand out towards him, I still tried to do something. "TAKA!!"
Taka was a foot from the ground and I closed my eyes. I couldn't bear to see my best and only friend slam to the ground....a few moments passed, but no sound of crashing came. Hesitantly I opened my eyes. To my surprise and shock, Taka was fine, and sitting on a cloud of...crows? "What the-" "Oh my gosh, Kyle! How'd you do that?!" Taka didn't seem scared one bit, and actually seemed pretty excited. "I-I d-did...huh?" I didn't even realize it, but my hand was glowing the same color of the crows. Looking at my hand, the glow stop, and Taka fell the one foot to the ground.
"Ow! Kyle!" "S-sorry! I didn't mean to do that!" Taka showed a pout at me, and I just looked nervous as hell. A few more moments passed and we both broke out into laughter. Taka was the first to get actual words out "Can you do it again?" I shrugged, wiping tears from my eyes from laughing too much. Holding out my hand I concentrated on sending another crow out. It took a few seconds, but my hand started to glow again, and a crow emerged from my fingertips. It was flying right at Taka! Shoot, didn't mean to do that!
Taka brought up his arms to block the oncoming bird. They started to glow, and just before the crow could collide with him, they changed into metal blades. My crow got sliced in half and faded into nothingness as it passed by him. "Okay, how did you do that?!" He looked over his arm in wonder. "I dunno...it just happened." Taka then got a smirk on his face...he was up to something. Getting up from where he was sitting on the ground a few moments ago, he pointed one of his blade arms at me, and said "Prepare to die you evil witch!" I smirked too and pointed to him "Never you DWMA brat!"
For the rest of the day, we played Witch vs Death Weapon, before heading home. It was sunset, and Taka had gone to his house. I was just heading into my own home. My dad was in the living room, but he had some suitcases packed. "D-dad? Where are we going?" His head shot towards facing my direction, seeming to be surprised I was there. "Nowhere son. You are staying here. Your father...has to go away for a while." He kissed my forehead before closing his suitcases, and heading for the door. "I made a call, and a friend of your dad's going to be here to take care of you while I'm gone."
With those words, he left, and I never got to see him since that moment. I went up to my room, trying to process what was going on, but I couldn't think of anything. There were too many gaps, too many things I didn't know. Just then the ringing of our doorbell broke the silence.
Trudging back down to the front door, I opened it to look outside. At first I didn't see anyone, but then I looked down and saw a black cat with a hat (wow, try saying that 10 times fast) and a small suitcase. Then it spoke. "Hello, are you Kyle Crowshine?" It's voice sounded young and feminine. Course I was a little surprised, but with the day I was having, it wasn't very hard to swallow.
"U-um, yes?" The next thing I knew, I was getting smothered by what felt like a soft pair of round pillows. "Oh wow you've gotten so big! I hardly recognized you!" Struggling for a breath of air, I pushed her away, and now standing in front of me was some lady. "Who the heck are you?!" "Silly, didn't your dad tell you I was coming? It's me, your Aunt Blair!" She finished in a sort of cat like pose. A moment of silence passed like a soft gust of wind.
She sweat dropped a bit and said "Gee, don't act too surprised." In a sorta monotone sarcastic voice. "Sorry...but I didn't know you were the person Dad was talking about..." She let out a sigh "It's fine. May I come in?" I nodded, stepping aside. "Great! I'll cook us some dinner then. How does fish sound?" she came in, pulling along her now correctly sized suitcase. "Okay I guess." Man that was a dumb move on my part. Once she was in the kitchen and got to work, she set the heat up so high on the oven that actual fire was coming off of it, and the fish she put on weren't even slightly prepared. They went in raw like they were fresh out of the lake, and came out like they were fresh out of a volcano.
We were about to dig in, well she was anyway. I was just staring at my food, when an explosion came from the front door, and a blast of cold air followed. "Hello hello? Anyone home? Blair was the first to make a move, getting ahead of me at the doorway to the living room. I stood behind her, shivering from fear and cold. "Ah, there you are. Now where is your daddy, hmm?"
The door was completely smashed in and the living room was covered in ice and snow. There appeared to be a 10 year old girl with pure white long hair, and an outfit that screamed snow queen. "Stay behind me Kyle." "Y-yes ma'am..." Not like I planned on going over to her and giving her a hug or something. "Aww, how sweet." "Just so you know, I don't really appreciate you wrecking my nephew's home. Look at this place, it'll be a 'catastrophe' to clean up." "Oh, so you're related to the boy and his father?" "No, but I am a really close friend. Does that count?" Looking at Blair, she looked ticked. Like she was ready to pounce on this girl. Definitely not like how I met her.
"Close enough. I need you to deliver a message for me, to Patrick Crowshine. If he wants to insure his son's safety so bad, have him come and fine me. I'll be waiting, but the longer I wait, the more impatient I'll grow. And if I become to impatient, well there won't be much left of his son to save." "I have a message for ya!" Blair hissed. "Pumpkin, Pumpkin, Halloween Canon!" A large pumpkin appeared and was launched at the girl. Just before she got hit, her body shifted into snow that was carried away by the wind. The pumpkin exploded on the couch behind it. She laughed maniacally as she disappeared into the night.
I couldn't believe what I just saw! First off, Blair can kick some serious butt if she gets mad, and second, what did my dad do to attract someone like her?! That did it, I couldn't just sit around, wait for this lady to come back, and do as she pleased. So later that night, after we 'finished' dinner, and we cleaned up what happened in the living room, I asked Blair something very important as she was trying to tuck me in. "Aunt Blair?"
"Yeah Kyle?" "Do you think...maybe you could teach me?" "Teach you what?" "Y'know, about magic and stuff." She seemed excited as heck all of a sudden, giving me these big watery eyes with a kinda creepy smile.
Just like earlier, I was getting smothered in a hug. Only this time, I knew what was in my face. So, needless to say, a bright blush caused my face to turn pink. "Of course I will, I've always wanted to show someone a thing or two in magic I-hold on." She backed off for a second. "Why do you wanna learn magic? And more importantly, what makes you think you can?" I explained to her what happened in the woods, leaving out the part about Taka learning of his weapon heritage, then said I thought she looked super cool when she fought off that witch earlier.
She took it too well, but in the end, I did get to learn some magic from her. After a month or so, I felt like I learned enough to get me started. So I started packing one night without Blair knowing, and snuck out. Though...there was one thing I had to take care of...Taka...
There was no way I was gonna leave my best and only friend in the dark like this. The groggy Taka barely stayed awake for it, but I told him that I was leaving that night. He snapped awake after that, but I made him promise not to tell anyone about me leaving, nor about me being a Warlock. That last part I found out from Blair. Turns out, that's what you call a male Witch. Anyway, I left that night and haven't spoken to Taka since. Neither did I talk to Blair, but besides that....
I hope he's doing okay...
(Hey guys! Phew that was a long one. Sorry that I kinda rushed the end, but I didn't want to lag behind Lucario. He's already gotten his prologue done and uploaded, so go check him out. Also, what did you guys think of Blair? I tried my best, but I don't know how well she came out. Anyway, thanks for reading everyone, and I hope to see you all in the next chapter. See ya!)
