10. Shiro- If I Could Tell Her (Part 1)
Highschool AU!
"(Y/N)?" Shiro asked, tapping me on the shoulder.
"Hm?" I responded, Popsicle in my mouth.
"There's this girl... at my school, I think you might know her."
"Why're you asking me this?"
"I-I like her..." I smiled and took the frozen treat out of my mouth, eyes shining. I hoped it was me. I'd liked Shiro for the longest time now. From first grade all the way until 11th.
"What's she like?" I questioned, resting on the arm of the couch.
"She's got beautiful, sparkling eyes, and full, plump lips. Her personality is one of a kind, always brightening everyone's day, and she's got a heart of gold," he swooned, face turning pink. I sighed and kept listening.
"Oh, and her grades are great! She's the student president, and always looking out for other people!" I was starting to get confused.
"But Lance keeps on flirting with her, every guy wants to date her, and she's got this, mature, man-killer body." I looked down at myself. I was starting to get self-conscious.
"But her white hair, blue eyes, and tan, dark skin is so mysterious! Her beauty is entrancing!~" he giggled. I faltered.
"Wh-What else i-is she like Shiro?" I stuttered, barely managing to keep the tears in.
"Oh, her uncle is the principle of Voltron High, so if I do manage a chance with her, I'll be going to these galas and meetings, which will boost my chances of getting into a good college!"
"What's her name, Shiro?" I asked, quietly. I already knew his answer.
"Allura! She's so pretty, and smart, and perfect..." I laughed sadly in mockery.
"Yeah, I'll leave you to that, you should confess. You'll be a great couple, anyways." I got up the couch, dropped my Popsicle, and left. Tears started to flow down my cheeks.
"I knew it. He would never like me. I just knew it. I fucking knew it."

I looked in the hallway as people were making room for the new 'it' couple. Allura and Shiro. Of course. I sighed and turned the other way. After Allura accepted his confession, he'd completely forgotten about me. I knew he would. After all, I knew he'd find out my secret. I was Principal Zarkon's daughter. The principal of Galra High. I trudged to my other class, but bumped into someone.
"Hey, you alright?" they asked.
"Not now you fucking rat."
"Aw, is that any way to treat your brother?"
"Shut it, Lotor," I snarled, glaring at him. He was a transfer from Galra High, after he'd been suspended. Narti, Ezor, Acxa, and Zethrid were all suspended as well. He chuckled and looked at my expression, then his face fell. I had tears streaming down my face as I scrunched up my nose.
"Oh, oh darling, don't cry..." he sighed, parting my hair and cupping my cheeks. I sobbed into his chest while Ezor covered us as we snuck back into the back of the school. Once I had finally calmed down, I wiped my eyes and looked at my older brother.
"(Y/N)... Who the hell made you cry? I swear, if it's that Jake boy, I will beat him into a fucking pulp," he growled. I smiled at how his attitude changed in less than a tick.
"It's nothing..." He grabbed my shoulders and stared into my eyes.
"No, it's NOT nothing. Whoever made my little sister cry deserves to go to hell." I sighed and hugged him.
"It's okay... They already have a girlfriend anyways..." I muttered, wiping my eyes. I looked down dejectedly and sighed. Lotor embraced me yet again, smoothing my hair out. He gently kissed my head and led me towards the bathroom to freshen up. Acxa and Zethrid helped me out, re-doing my hair, and helping me properly wash my face. Once I got out of the bathroom, Lotor immediately rushed to hug me. I rolled my eyes and smiled, hugging my big brother back.
"Tell me who it was," he said, ruining the moment. I sighed and crossed my arms.
"Do I have to?" I said sassily.
"If you want any male in the school to live, you better." I stuck my tongue out at Lotor.
"Fine, it was Shiro," I said, looking down at the floor. Lotor hissed and balled up his fists.
"Oh the little pipsqueak's going to PAY!" he shouted, running for the door. The three other girls held him back, trying to calm him down. I sighed and calmly walked towards the door.
"Thanks for the offer, big bro, but I think I can handle myself." With a swish of my hair, I was gone.
(Timeskip to a couple months later)
It's been half a month since I'd heard Shiro and Allura were dating. I wish I could say that I had forgotten my love for Shiro. Yet, it only grew with each passing day. I didn't see Shiro at school today, which worried me. He ignored me, but his presence was enough to calm me down. I began to panic, TRYING to ask everyone if they knew where Shiro was. Either people ignored me, or they just followed the others' examples. I bet they all knew I was Zarkon's daughter. I sat down on a lunch table. Lotor placed a hand on my back.
"It was Allura," Ezor said grimly, frowning.
"She spread the word that you were related to Zarkon," Zethrid sighed, sitting down. I looked down. Now was not a time to be weak and cry. This was a time to find Shiro and deal with Allura later. I got up from the table.
"I need to find Shiro."

I opened the door to Shiro's flat. Looking around for any signs of the black-haired man, I saw a small shred of a Polaroid Camera picture. There was a trace of white hair in the picture. I knew who it was. Allura. I went up to Shiro's room and instantly was met with the sound of sobbing. It broke my heart. I hesitantly opened the door and found a broken Shiro laying on the ground, clutching himself. I felt a pang in my chest. I immediately rushed to his side, cradling him in my arms.
"She left... Cheated..." he whispered, clutching onto my body. I sighed as I felt sadness overwhelm me. I would have never cheated. He found out after the whole school did. The whole school knew that Allura was cheating on Shiro with Jack. I felt sympathetic, and stupid, for not being the one to tell him.
"I know, Shiro, I know..." I shushed, whispering sweet nothings into his ear. He sobbed even harder.
"I-I loved her... But she left... No one was there..." he whimpered, tears staining my flannel. Wait... Let me try something. I sighed at the male and cupped his face. His dull grey eyes met mine.
"Shiro. Do you remember anything that happened during your relationship?" I asked, looking directly at his tear-stained face. He sniffed and sat up, trying to piece together all the information.
"W-Wait... It should be easy, but nothing's coming to my mind..." he muttered, putting a hand on his chin.
"Hold still, Shiro, I'm not going to hurt you, but I'm going to scan your mind really quickly," I said, holding both of my hands at his temples. I closed my eyes and a white light appeared out of my hands, circling Shiro's head, displaying his brain on a white screen. I scrolled through his health, and found something big.
"Shiro, you've been under a love spell."
