30. Keith- Trust...?

Pacing the castle floors quickly, I ran towards the main control room. I saw gun fires and a blue figure shoot at me. I dodged them and turned a corner. There I saw a green figure that tried to lasso me. I only dragged her along.

"(Y/N), did you find Shiro?"

"Not yet, Ulaz. I will soon. I already have the yellow, blue, and green one on my tail."

"Be sure it is him. I do trust your judgement, and memories. Don't let me down, (Y/N)."

"Copy that." I looked forwards, and saw the red one. We battled for half a minute before I flipped him to the ground, knocking him down. Before I could turn, I held my blade up to someone's neck.

"Shiro," I said, lowering my arm. I lifted up my hood and made my mask disappear. My (Hair Color) hair fell down, and revealed my (Skin Color) skin.

"You... You saved me from the Galra ship... How? Your skin was purple before." I suddenly got slammed against the wall.

"Who are you? What are you doing on my- (Y/N)?" I recognized that voice.

"Allura..." I coughed, "Put me the quiznack down..." She lowered me down from her grip, then rushed to hug me.

"I will explain, but first we need to get somewhere more... Formidable."

(Timeskip)

I was done explaining the plan, and what I knew about Shiro.

"So you're saying that your group... Is completely secret?" I nodded.

"Yes, I will contact Kolivan and Ulaz to confirm my mission has been completed," I said, typing in a connection code. Their faces popped up on the screen.

"Kolivan, Ulaz," I addressed, "I have found Shiro. I ask for permission to stay upon this ship and continue informing you on events that happen." They both stayed quiet for a minute, then nodded.

"I allow you to. However, I would be very disappointed if my little sister failed as a Blade. Stay safe." Kolivan's icon blinked out. Ulaz nodded.

"I would also be disappointed if my second-in-command failed to do her duty. Stay safe." Ulaz blinked out. I nodded and blinked out myself. I turned to the paladins.

"What shall we do now?"

(Timeskip)

I grimaced as I was dressed in lavender clothing. A tank-top, with a mild lavender color that said something in the Earth language, and black jeans. I also put on a jacket of some sort with a bazillion pockets, that was white. I felt mildly uncomfortable, due to the amount of coverage I had, but shrugged it aside. I left the room and walked back into the control room.

"What?" I asked, looking at the paladins, "Is it not normal for me to change into Earthling wear? Or should I put my armor back on?"

"No, no, (Y/N). You look fine..." Allura said, "It's just... I don't remember seeing you without your armor on." I rolled my eyes.

"You've seen me plenty of times without it." I looked back at the paladins.

"Do you have a training deck?" I asked. Keith nodded and beckoned me to follow him.

"Since you're going, I'll go as well." I raised an eyebrow.

"What for?"

"You'll need a sparring partner, won't you?" I scoffed.

"No need, I can defeat the gladiator by myself, thank you very much,"I snapped, walking faster. I got out my blade as the robot jumped down. I told Keith to stay to the side.

The staff and my blade clashed together, sending sparks flying everywhere.

"Mmph!" I grunted as it almost threw me off my feet. I hissed, purple ears growing from my head. I roared as I stabbed its chest, killing the robot. The ears retracted back into my skull. I looked at the male.

"Don't look at me like that," I said, pointing towards his head, "Don't say I didn't warn you about me practicing." He paced forwards, then looked me in the eye.

"Where did you get your blade?" I looked up at him, narrowing my eyes.

"It is a ceremonial blade. You don't simply 'get' it. The blade chooses whether to awaken or not, based on its user," I replied, turning away. He placed a hand on my shoulder, then showed me his knife. I gasped as he unraveled the bonding. Slamming him against the floor, I knocked his bayard out of his hand, and held my blade to his neck.

"Where did you get that?!" I yelled, "Who did you steal it from? Who did you kill?!" He looked up at me with fear in his eyes.

"I-I swear, I received it! I don't know how, but it's the only connection I have to home!"

"LIAR!" I roared, almost breaking the skin on his neck. The team stormed in.

"What are you doing to Keith?" Shiro demanded, arm glowing purple. I growled, my ears unfolding from my head, and my skin turning purple.

"He stole from us. He stole one of our blades."

"What makes you so sure?"

"I saw it. The symbol. The material. The craftsmanship. It's all ours," I growled, raising my blade to point at the sign, then to his.

"I must contact Brother immediately. He must know about this treachery," I said, getting up off the floor.

"Wait." I turned back, my Galra attributes fading.

"Let me go with you. I need to know more about this. My history." I sighed, but beckoned for him to follow me.

"Very well, we shall take a separate pod to the head quarters," I said, "Let me get suited up, then we will proceed."

(Timeskip)

I made my way to the chair.

"Brother."

"Sister." I looked at Kolivan.

"This Earthling was found having one of our blades. I say we test him to see if he is worthy of carrying it, instead of stripping it from him." The others nodded.

"Very well. You will be responsible of taking it from him, if necessary. Knowledge, or death. Which do you chose, paladin?" Kolivan asked, looking at Keith. Keith hesitated for a bit.

"I want to learn more about my past." I winced. I was afraid he was going to choose this. He will die, for he is human, not Galran.

"Sister, what are you waiting for? Escort this Earthling to the arena." I sighed.

"Very well, Brother." I beckoned for Keith to follow me. When we got there, I slid down my hood and took off my mask. I kissed his cheek and smiled.

"I'm sorry." The door slid closed, and a rouge tear slipped down my face.

"You bastard... You'll get killed..." I whispered, returning to my brother's side.

"No time to be weak, (Y/N)," Kolivan said, placing a hand on my back, "He chose this fate for himself. He dies, or gets knowledge. This is what got you into the Blade as well." I let out a shaky breath, encasing my head in my helmet again, and pulling up my hood.

"Brother... Who will mourn for him?" I asked, looking at Kolivan.

"What do you mean?"

"Who will resent his death? Who will remember him?"

"I do not know, and it is not my worry."

"But Broth-"

"It is not your worry, (Y/N). Letting your emotions get the best of you is not how a Blade works," Kolivan boomed, "I expected better." I clenched my fist.

"Can you at least carry emotions for once in your life? Can you at least pretend you are sorry for him? He will die in our hands, and if you do not wipe it off, his blood will be on your grave! He will lose his life because of us! Apart from you, I do not want to become the monster, forever remembered as the individual that killed the Red Paladin!" I yelled, erasing my mask and letting my hood fall off so Kolivan could see my tears.

"I do not want him to die! I do not want any of this! If only... If only I hadn't let my emotions get the best of me..." I cried, falling onto my knees, "If only we had taken the blade, and just... Let him go, he wouldn't have to die this way..." I felt a hand rest on my back.

"(Y/N). This was his choice." I looked up in pain at my Brother's eyes, crinkled up, wincing.

"Let him make his own decisions."

(Timeskip)

I gasped as he got up from the floor.

"He lives... How?" I breathed, rushing to the room where he was held. I suddenly felt myself being shaken.

"The Red Lion is attacking the ship!" someone yelled. I sprinted towards the arena.

"Keith!" I screamed, "Call your lion off! Now!" He turned to look at me.

"(Y/N)..." I grunted as the ground broke more. I had to make a decision, quick.

"Give us the blade," I finally said, holding out my hand.

"What?"

"Give me the blade, Keith. Now. Or else you will be killed."

"Keith!" I heard. I growled.

"Your friend has NO place in this. Give. Me. The. Blade."

"No! We're getting you out of here, Keith!"

"CALL OFF YOUR LIONS! NOW! Or give me the BLADE!" I yelled, ready to lunge.

"Keith! We're coming!"

"Give me the blade or I'll personally take down your friends."

"We came in! Keith, hold on, we're going to save you!"

"I will fight if I must."

He was hesitant. After a few moments, he held his hand out.

"Wait! Just take the knife! It doesn't matter where I come from. I know who I am. We all need to work together to defeat Zarkon. If that means I give up this knife, fine. Take it." The blade glowed a bright purple. I fought the urge to smile. Tears were flowing freely down my cheeks.

"You've awakened it," Kolivan said, walking into the room. I smiled.

"Only those with Galra blood running through their veins can awaken one of our blades," I said approaching Keith, "Welcome."

"Princess Allura, there are two people aboard this ship I'd like for you to meet."

(Timeskip)

"So it is true, the Princess is still alive after all these years," Kolivan said, bowing slightly.

"So is Zarkon. Can we consider you our ally in the fight against him?" she asked, looking at my brother in suspicion.

"Yes, but we have little time to discuss this. I just received word from our spy inside the Galran hierarchy. They have become aware of our presence, so the timetable for our plan has been moved up." I looked at him in shock.

"Thace?" I gasped, taking Kolivan's wrist in my hand. He nodded.

"How soon do we need to begin?" Shiro interrupted.

"Now," Kolivan said, looking deadly serious. I held my breath. Dammit. Once the meet up was over, I beckoned for Keith to come outside.

"So, you are Galran."

"Yeah..."

"Do you feel... Abnormal?"

"Not in the slightest, I guess." I let go of my breath.

"Good... There is something I wanted to tell you..."

"Yes...?"

"I trust you, Keith."

"Why would you want to tell me this?"

"I think that you are strong. I thought you would be dead, but here you are, the spirit of a warrior still resonating within you."

"...Thanks?"

"Keith, promise me that you'll continue to fight," I said, placing a hand on his chest. He nodded, lightly smiling at me.

"I promise." I smirked at him and pressed my lips against his for a few seconds.

"See you at the mess-hall." I left a red-faced, blushing Keith.

"W-Wait!"
