I looked at my partner from the dinner table, smiling and holding his hand.
"Have I told you how much I love you, (Y/N)?" he said, laughing, "You're the best girlfriend a guy could ever have." I winced at the word 'girlfriend.' I was technically neither of those pronouns, neither a she, or a he, but a they/them. I plastered on a fake smile and laughed into the crook of their neck.
"I love you too, (Random Guy's Name)."
(Skip a few weeks)
"What is this?!" they yelled, holding up my phone and scrolling through my messages.
"It's not what you think!" I yelled back, on my knees, several bruises adorning my face.
"You're sick! I thought you were a girl! Faggot!" he yelled, "I'm done with you! We are over!" He stormed out of the house and took his things with him. I cried on the floor, holding myself. The scene shifted to a suburban household of my childhood friend, Lance McClain. I giggled as he buried his tan face into my (Hair Color) locks.
"I love you for who you are, (Y/N). (Random Guy's Name) didn't deserve you," he said, kissing my head, "I will always love my (Y/N), forever and ever." I smiled and kissed his sweet lips.
"I love you too Lance... But why do you love me? I'm different from others... I'm... weird," I said, sighing and looking at my lap.
"You're not weird, you're unique, and people look at you, they judge you, only because they're jealous."
"You think so?"
"I know so, besides, who wouldn't be jealous of the sharpshooter's partner?" he said, while smiling. He placed his right hand under my chin, lifting it up.
"Just so you know, I'll never leave you for another. EVER, (Y/N)," he whispered before everything faded away.
I woke up in cold sweat, looking around me.
"It was all just a dream," I said quietly to myself as I sat up in my bed, "Just one huge dream." I got up and went to the dining room to pour myself a glass of water. I spit it out once I heard soft footsteps and a yawn.
"Lance! You scared the quiznack right out of me!" I yelped, slamming down my cup of water. He chuckled and went into the cupboard.
"It can't be helped, can it?" he said, quietly laughing. I pouted and smacked him in the head.
"You're supposed to say sorry, you dolt," I replied, sticking my nose up in the air. He ruffled my hair and drank his water.
"Why are you out here so late?" he asked, leaning against the counter.
"I could ask you the same thing," I responded snottily. He rolled his eyes and smiled.
"Just... a dream."
"Same here... Lance?"
"Hm?"
"What was your dream about?" I asked, he stopped drinking his water and looked at me. He sighed and furrowed his brows, thinking hard.
"It was... about a... person, who, is my everything. We were... a couple, and I know that would never really happen, since, I doubt they would ever like me back..."
"What were they like?" I prodded. He smiled and looked up at the ceiling dreamily.
"They have beautiful (Hair Color) hair, the most dazzling (Eye Color) eyes, voluptuous, kissable lips, and the most beautiful skin tone." I looked down, a bit dejected.
"What else were they like?"
"We were... ARE childhood friends, always sticking together and fighting alongside one another. I love them, and would do anything for them. They're one of the nicest people I've ever met, and never cease to surprise me."
"What's their name?"
"Are you kidding?"
"What?"
"I thought it might be blandly obvious by now," he responded, looking at me.
"Allura? No. Keith? No, Lance isn't gay. Shiro? Nah. Hunk? Pidge? SHAY???" I thought, clutching my head.
"Who???" I said, looking at Lance in disbelief.
"It's you, (Y/N)," Lance said, giving me a lady killer smile. I almost choked.
"Me? Why me? I'm nothing special, I'm just... weird."
"You're not weird, you're unique, and people look at you, they judge you, only because they're jealous."
"You think so?"
"I know so, besides, who wouldn't be jealous of the sharpshooter's partner?" he said, while smiling. He placed his right hand under my chin, lifting it up. I gasped as he gave me a comforting gaze. We leaned closer, and closer, until our lips finally met. He tasted like sweet vanilla, with small traces of candy floss. How does one taste so good? We separated, and looked at each other lovingly.
"I'd never leave you for the whole galaxy, (Y/N)," he said, a smile tracing his features. I giggled and planted a kiss on his cheek.
"I love you too, Lance McClain."
