Bonus Chapter- Engraved Memories
Soft giggles came from a corner of the cafe, a few girls seated together sipping on their coffee as they watched the live performance happening before them. Sehun glanced over at them with an irritated expression, not appreciating their frequent visits lately. It was obvious they weren't really here for the coffee.
The cafe had gotten a lot busier ever since Chanyeol hired Baekhyun to perform piano in the mornings. So much busier in fact, that Chanyeol and Kyungsoo began searching for some extra staff, and Sehun quickly jumped at the chance to become one of their baristas. The idea of coming into work and seeing Baekhyun every morning was more than enough to make him quit his other job.
Little did Sehun realize, he was also a contributor to the increased traffic at the cafe. No longer hiding in a corner wearing pajamas, he attracted a lot more attention in his nicely fitting uniform serving drinks. Girls flocked from all over town to come see both Sehun and Baekhyun, not to mention the handsome managers as well. However, Baekhyun did tend to get a little more attention, since girls were quickly impressed with his skill at playing an instrument.
Sehun watched in annoyance as girls often went to chat with Baekhyun while he played, Baekhyun sweetly smiling back at them like he did with everyone he talked to. Sehun honestly couldn't tell if Baekhyun was ever interested in any of the girls or not, or if he liked girls at all, since he gave them all the same equal amount of attention. He was just so kind, he made anyone feel like they were special.
He treated Sehun the same way, giving him a warm smile whenever he came over to give him a drink. Sehun was too shy to talk much, and always ended up leaving before they could have a decent conversation. Still, he had managed to learn a few things about Baekhyun. He was a professional pianist, which wasn't a surprise, and usually performed with a local orchestra. However, playing at the cafe gave him a chance to express his creative freedom, allowing him to play whatever he wanted. It also was a great way to make some extra cash, and help out his family friend Chanyeol with his business.
Chanyeol had no idea how much help Baekhyun was going to be though. He just figured a change in the live performance might draw in more customers, not taking into account Baekhyun's good looks. It was all going so well, that Chanyeol and Kyungsoo decided to throw a little celebration.
"Hey." Chanyeol smiled, approaching the piano as Baekhyun finished his song, "You're not busy tonight are you?"
Baekhyun shook his head, looking at Chanyeol curiously, "No, why? What's up?"
"Kyungsoo and I just wanted to take you and the other employees out for a little fun. Our treat."
"Really? Thanks!" Baekhyun smiled back, "Where to?"
"There's this great bar just around the corner from here. I'll send you the address later."
Baekhyun nodded, a sweet smile still on his face, "Ok, sounds fun."
Sehun looked up from the drink he was making, overhearing the conversation they were having. He couldn't help noticing the mention of the other employees being invited as well. It sounded like a perfect opportunity to hang out with Baekhyun, that is if he could work up the courage to actually talk to him for once.
He watched as Chanyeol suddenly covered his mouth, whispering something to Baekhyun that made him laugh. The only thing he could hear was Baekhyun's answer, a quiet 'thank you' accompanied with a bashful smile.
After Chanyeol left him alone, Baekhyun started to collect his things. He swung his bag over his shoulder before he looked over at Sehun, sending him a smile and a small wave goodbye. Sehun waved back, trying not to obviously blush as he watched him walk over to the door.
"See you tonight." Baekhyun spoke in a chipper voice, pushing open the door as he looked back over at Sehun.
"See you tonight." Sehun replied, lowering his eyes slowly in embarrassment.

Baekhyun was the last person to arrive, showing up a few minutes after everyone had already ordered their drinks. Coming over to the bar, Baekhyun quickly greeted Chanyeol and Kyungsoo before choosing to take a seat next to Sehun. Sehun watched nervously as Baekhyun got situated on his stool, and then blushed as Baekhyun turned to give him a warm smile.
"Hi Sehun."
"Hi." Sehun answered as he lowered his eyes to stare at his drink instead.
He listened as Baekhyun ordered his drink, chatting with the other employees next to him for a moment as he waited for it. Sehun didn't have the confidence to look over at Baekhyun again to strike up a conversation, but luckily he didn't have to.
"I'm really glad you're here." Baekhyun spoke to Sehun as he took his first sip, "We don't get to talk much."
"No, we don't." Was Sehun's extremely short answer. He tried to think of something to add to it, but his mind was like an empty void when it came to talking to Baekhyun.
"I still have your painting hanging above my bed." Baekhyun admitted cheerfully, "I always feel happy in the morning when I look at it."
Sehun blushed, the image of Baekhyun waking up every morning and feeling happy because of his art was the most wonderful gift he had ever received. He didn't care if he never sold another painting, because Baekhyun's appreciation was all he needed.
"That's great." Sehun answered quietly, too shy to express how happy that made him as well.
"I've been wanting to ask you." Baekhyun continued, scooting a little closer to Sehun, "I'd love to have some more of your paintings to hang in the rest of my house. Like a matching series."
"...Really?" Sehun replied nervously as he watched Baekhyun get increasingly closer.
"Yeah." Baekhyun smiled with a tilt of his head, "Can I make a commission for it?"
"Of course." Sehun gulped, admiring how Baekhyun looked like an adorable puppy when he tilted his head.
Baekhyun reached for Sehun's arm, gently holding onto it, "Thanks!"
A sudden call for Baekhyun's opinion snatched his attention away, and Baekhyun turned to speak to the person sitting next to him. There were a few other baristas there as well, and Baekhyun was popular amongst all of them. It didn't surprise Sehun, he couldn't imagine a person who would dislike Baekhyun.
However, this made it difficult for Sehun to talk to Baekhyun privately again, since everyone became engrossed in a group conversation. Throughout the entire evening Baekhyun was busy either replying to a comment or making one of his own. Sehun merely sat by and watched them all, only making a few quiet responses to the group.
After a few hours, everyone eventually decided it was time to go home. Sehun secretly sighed to himself as he watched Baekhyun get out of his seat. Doing the same, he tried to comfort himself with the reminder that Baekhyun wanted some of his artwork. At least that ensured that they would have to talk again later.
After giving their thanks to Chanyeol and Kyungsoo, everyone began to make their way outside. They parted ways once they left the building, waving to each other and giving one last farewell before going on their on way. As Sehun went to leave as well, he suddenly noticed that Baekhyun was standing next to him, staring directly at him. Sehun quickly stopped, realizing that Baekhyun wanted to say something to him.
"...Do you mind if I walk with you?" He asked, sending Sehun a warm look with his eyes.
"Sure, I don't mind." Sehun instantly smiled back at him, unable to hide his joy at having another chance to talk to Baekhyun.
Baekhyun went close to his side, and Sehun joined him as he began to walk again. They moved silently for a short while, until Baekhyun let out a small laugh.
"We still didn't end up talking much."
"No." Sehun agreed, laughing lightly as well.
"It's okay, I prefer talking alone like this anyway." Baekhyun smiled as he looked up at Sehun, "I bet you do too, right?"
Sehun nodded his head slowly, "Yeah."
They took a few more quiet steps together, enjoying the sights of the city around them as Baekhyun tried to organize his thoughts. He had been wanting to talk to Sehun for a long while now, ever since the first time they met. The timing never felt right before, and without Chanyeol's help, Baekhyun may have never of found the right opportunity. Whenever Baekhyun was done performing at the cafe, Sehun was usually still working. It didn't feel right to approach him and try to strike up a meaningful conversation. But now, Baekhyun finally had the perfect moment to express himself.
"You're going to think this sounds crazy..." Baekhyun started, still unsure of how to convey his thoughts, "...But I get the weirdest feeling when I'm around you."
"Weird feeling?" Sehun repeated, staring at Baekhyun curiously.
Baekhyun let out a sigh, afraid of how silly he was going to sound, "...Yeah. You just feel so familiar to me, like I've met you before."
Sehun went silent in thought, trying to recall Baekhyun's face from his memories, "When we were younger?"
"...I'm not sure." Baekhyun paused momentarily, struggling on how to describe it, "...I've never gotten this feeling from anyone else before. It's like...I feel we're really close, like we've known each other for a long time."
Sehun suddenly blushed from those words, touched that Baekhyun felt such a strong connection to him, for whatever the reason. Baekhyun had so many friends and people that loved him, Sehun often felt like he didn't stand a chance, especially since he couldn't even hold a conversation. But it seemed like he had much better prospects than he previously thought.
"I guess I just feel really comfortable around you." Baekhyun laughed, realizing that was probably the best way of putting it, "Even though I feel comfortable around pretty much everyone, but something about you just feels even more comfortable."
"...I'm glad." Sehun smiled nervously, "I always thought I acted really awkward around you."
"You're just shy." Baekhyun smiled back, reaching out to hold onto Sehun's arm, "I like that about you."
"...Thanks." Sehun answered as he lowered his face, his cheeks turning a deeper red.
Baekhyun kept his eyes on Sehun, continuing to smile at him. Even in that moment, he felt like Sehun's shy expression was something he had witnessed many times before.
"Can I call you Sehunie?" Baekhyun giggled.
Sehun paused for a long moment, something about Baekhyun saying his name like that struck a chord inside him. Just like Baekhyun had described, it felt really familiar. As if he had been waiting to hear that again for a long time now.
"Sure."
Baekhyun smiled brightly, lowering his grip on Sehun's arm to hold onto his hand instead. Sehun shyly squeezed onto Baekhyun's hand as well, his confidence gaining from all the affection he was receiving from Baekhyun. It was such a perfect moment, he didn't want to miss the opportunity.
"...Can I...take you out sometime? On a date?"
Baekhyun stared at him in disbelief, unprepared for Sehun to ask him anything like that. It took a moment for him to process Sehun's words, until the smile on his face returned even brighter than before. He suddenly sprang closer to Sehun, stepping up on his tip toes to plant a kiss on his cheek.
"I'd love that."
Sehun felt his entire face start burning, the rush of blood even reaching his ears. If only he knew it would be this easy to ask Baekhyun out, he would have done it much sooner.
"You know, Chanyeol has been trying to help hook us up together for a while now." Baekhyun laughed, "That's why he always has you make me a drink."
"Oh." Sehun answered with a surprised smile, "I never thought there was a reason behind it."
"Yeah, I told him I like you. But when I told him that, he had the biggest smile on his face. I always had the feeling he was hiding something from me. Chanyeol is terrible at hiding stuff." Baekhyun answered as he stared at Sehun suspiciously.
Sehun laughed, realizing that Chanyeol must have been aware of both their feelings for a while now. It must have been driving him crazy.
"Yeah, he was definitely hiding something from you. He's known that I like you basically since I started working at the cafe."
"I knew it!" Baekhyun giggled, wrapping his other hand around Sehun's arm to get even closer to him.
Sehun smiled down at him, loving the adorable expression on Baekhyun's face. He looked so happy, Sehun couldn't help leaning closer to him as well. Closing the gap between them, he pressed his lips against Baekhyun's, giving him a gentle kiss.
This time, they both felt it, an odd sensation that neither of them could explain. Everything about it felt so familiar, as if they had shared a kiss together before.
