Arashi POV

~ After school - 5:45 PM ( June 12th )~

I sat on the grass, terrified by the sight in front of me.

"W-What the hell is going on?"

My throat was tight. I can't speak. My limbs trembled, unable to stand up to stop. All I can do is sit there and watch.

-"wow, that's unexpected!" - said the voice with sarcasm.

-"Arashi, My dear, If you don't want that girl to be hospitalized then better get up." - the voice mocked me.

Even when I know what to do, I couldn't get up. In front of me now is Shadow.

He was strangling the girl who had been beaten and bleeding by him - who had staged this mess.

-Girl, Do whatever you want to me but don't you fucking dare touch my friends. - Shadow said as he chokes her tighter. Her face turns a bit purple, I can't even hear her scream for help. She keep scratching Shadow's arm, so tight that it bleed, but it didn't stop him. Right now, he looks like a complete monster. He's the monster that lost his mind.

-Shadow, stop! - I finally stand up to stop him before he hit her again.

Hearing me, he released her, causing her to collapse and gasp. When he turns back, I was even more scared.

There was still some of her blood on his face, and his eyes were a bit red. Not only that, he was smiling at me.

-W-why are you smiling...?

-Why can't I? - He smiles again, walking toward me

-My best friend - Hoteru Arashi, There are lots of things you don't know about me. - His smile fate away when He finishes the sentence. At the moment, he looks like someone else...

~ Lunch Time - 12:20 ( June 12th )~

As usual, after eating, we rest and relax on the terrace. I was sitting on the floor. And Shadow was sprawled on a nearby chair. Enjoying each cool breeze, I looked up at the clouds floating in the blue sky. 

"So peaceful. " - I relax, enjoying each cool breeze.

After Haruka's incident, it was only my group that stayed up here at lunchtime. Usually, 2 or 3 groups of friends come up here. But it seems that because they are afraid, there is no one left.

We always come up here because it is very quiet. The three of us hate being noticed and noisy places. (Though Shadow is quite loud )

Finally, we both get to rest. Especially Shadow, he was already tired. Too much had happened, and he had to bear it all on his own.

If I had to tell the truth, Shadow was the most miserable of the bunch. Aliaa and I have indeed both suffered a lot, but I don't think it's equal to what Shadow has endured.

I don't know everything about Shadow's past, we've been best friends for three years now, but he never tells it all. The things I know about him are a few hobbies, birthdays, his sister's past, and his family. His injuries and his "blind" eye are enough to show how much he's been through. 

At least now he can take a break from all those stress and problems.  For 13 years old like him, all of that is too much to control. Shadow is not strong either, his health is bad. Considering that this boy doesn't know how to take care of himself. He usually skips breakfast and dinner. I and Aliaa tried to make him eat but sometimes he won't listen to us. He might faint and go to the hospital if this keeps continuing. 

"Wait... 13 years old?" - Suddenly, something came to my mind. 

-Hey, Two more days is going to be your birthday, correct? June 14. Do you want anything for your birthday?

-Well, yes. June 14th is my birthday. But why are you bringing this up? My birthday this year is on Monday, we have school. And, also I have something to do that day... - Shadow looks at the sky, looks a bit sad.

-what's wrong? Why so sad? Also, what work do you have on your birthday? - I ask him.

- No, it's nothing. But what do you ask? Are you busy on my birthday? I won't organize, don't worry - he looked at me and smiled

-Why can't It celebrate? It's your birthday! - I smack his head

- Tomorrow is Sunday. You and I will ask Aliaa to hang out so the three of us can celebrate it on Sunday. Monday, you're busy, aren't you? - I say to him

-Well, I'm not but Do you need to beat me!!!? - Shadow got up and held his head. 

-What does the organization do? Just a stupid birthday party

-It's not stupid. It was you who organized it for me, Shadow. On my birthday, you are the one who bakes me a cake and prepares everything with Aliaa.

-Well, you needed it. You go through a lot, and at that time, your mothers hit you, right? - He asks me

-Shadow, You need it too! You look terrible these days cause of everything.

-But-

-No buts, We're going on a picnic tomorrow, and you are going too - I glared at him ( so he will go)

-Ok, ok! I'll go! Gosh, stop glaring at me! - Shadow said.

-Haha, You should ^^ - I laughed.

-Um, excuse me.

Out of nowhere, we heard a voice. Both of us turn around to check who that is. In front of us right now is a girl with a letter in her hand. A girl that I've never seen before. I turn to look at Shadow, and it seems like he doesn't know who she is either.

-Do you need something, m-miss? - I ask her. ( I sounded stupid)

-Oh, I'm Saiko Misaki. I'm here to say something - She said, Holding her letters tighter.

-Go ahead - Shadow said, looking at me and smirking. "Bro, you have a crush :))) "

-Shadow. Stop looking at me like that!! - I whisper to him. Despite what I said, he continued to look at me with those eyes;-;

-So, what do you want to say? - I ask her again cause she has been quiet for a while now. "This is awkward"

Is this what I think It's?? I hope not! Please, don't be what I think it's.

-Hoteru-san! I like you! Please accept my feelings! I don't need you to answer now, so please give me it after school in the backyard - She bent down and handed me her letter.

-I-I... - I stammered

Right now, I can feel my face heating up. I knew it was going to be like this. What should I do? I don't know how to improvise.

-Take it - Shadow bumped my shoulder and said

- I-I'll take the letter and y-yes I'll see you after school - I hesitated and accepted the letter.

Seeing that I received the letter, she seemed very happy. She looked up with a bright smile and ran downstairs.

Right after she left, Shadow started teasing again.

- Hey, you seem to like her, don't you? His face is so red - he smirks

-Hey Shadow! You know who I like but don't joke like that! Furthermore, neither of us knows who she is! How can I like her?

-Yes, I know who you like. I know that very well! But it can still change, am I right? If you don't like her, why are you blushing so much? You look like a Tomato, Arashi!

-I'm blushing because I'm embarrassed!! No one ever confesses to me, ok!? Stop teasing me! I will always love only one person! - I deny it

-Yes, Yes. But take advantage and open it quickly. Lunchtime is almost over. I went down first, ok? - he said and left the terrace, leaving me alone there.

Shadow POV

"Weird." - I think to myself, Walking down to class.

There is something off about that girl. I can see the aura she has around Arashi is not normal. Also, why can't I hear any footsteps when she comes near us? My ears are usually good. Then why? Why can't I hear anything? 

The whole morning, I can feel someone watching us. Is that Saiko? Arashi is not prominent in school. He's isolating himself from society, and he hates attention. I take all the subjects with Arashi. I haven't met her in any of her classes. How does she know Arashi? Furthermore, the rumors about Arashi were still circulating, yet she came to confess her love.

"Saiko Misaki, you have my attention." - I sneered.

Suddenly, I felt nauseous. Running to the bathroom, I covered my mouth.

Just like yesterday, I started coughing but not as much. Once again, that red blood appeared on my hand.

"Only one pill in the morning could affect me this much? Am I about to reach my limit? " - I wondered, washing the hand that was covered in blood. I'm glad I didn't eat much at lunch.

"But now's not the time to think about this. Now I have to focus on Arashi's problem." - Stepping out of the bathroom after washing off the blood, I headed straight to class. There's going to be a lot of fun this afternoon.

~ After school - 5:30 PM ( June 12th )~

-Oh C'mon! If you don't like her then just reject her! Don't tell me you're a playboy! - Right now, I'm talking to my best bro - Arashi, who is somehow stupid.

-I don't know how to! That's why I ask you to come with me! and also I'm not a playboy!!! - Arashi said to me

-JUST FREAKING SAY "NO, I DON'T LIKE YOU" WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU DON'T KNOW???

-LOWER YOUR VOICE SHADOW!

-Fine! Now just go out there! - I push him to the tree nearby (where Saiko said to wait for her) 

Just a few seconds later, Saiko shows ups. 

"why is she looking so serious? You suspicious bitch! Go tell her Arashi" - As I hide and spy on them like a creep, I am checking on her too. (Mostly checking on my stupid best friend)

-So, do you have the answers? - Saiko said shyly

-I'm so sorry but I can't accept your feeling. I don't feel the same. - Arashi bows down.

"You did it, Arashi! Good job." 

-Oh... - Her voice was low, it sounded like she was sad. She looked down and put her hands behind her back, pulling out a knife.

"wait, is that a knife!?"- I stood up from the bushes. Why is she holding a knife? Doesn't she like Arashi? Don't tell me-

-Thank you for telling me your true feeling, Hoteru Arashi- Saiko put on a cool smile and runs toward Arashi with the knife in her hand. 

-ARASHI!
