Part 81

"You're l-"

"I know, I know, I'm so sorry.." I cutted him off. I was expecting it as I saw his car parked in front of our house, so, better block the nag. Sasuke scanned me from head to toe, which made me a lot more uncomfortable with my get up.

"W-what?" I shrugged embarrassingly.
"Not bad."

"Why didn't you come in at the house?" I asked curiously, since I met him leaning on his car on my way home. Mom would usually let him in.
"Your mom's not around."
"Where is she?" I mumbled by myself, looking over the dark litted house.
"Probably with your dad. They need some alone time too y'know. Now let's go, babe." He said casually as he started his car.

'Where are you, mom?' 7:19 PM
I click send right away and hopped over the front seat and Sasuke began to drive.

It took a while before she responded saying,

'I'm at your dad's home. I left the address on the kitchen table. This place is amazing honey, we'll be moving in next week, I've arranged it with your dad.' 7:31 PM

'What time will you be home then?' 7:34 PM

'I'm staying here tonight, I've got a date too.' 7:35 PM

Well someone's officially 16 years old again. I locked my phone and looked over the place nearby. Looks like we're still minutes away from Sasuke's parents' home.

"Do I look okay?" I blushed, thinking of his immediate approval. Yet was disappointingly responded by a "Hng."

Okay, fine. Hng it is.

"Did you ask what company is your dad from?"
"Oh- that, no. I always forgot."
"Well you should ask."
"Why is it so important?"

"He might be working on one of our rival companies, and it may be trouble for us if he knew you work with the enemy."

"That won't happen, and if it did, I'm sure dad will let me choose for what will make me happy and not by the benefit of his company."

Yeah, that's right. I'm sure dad will never let me choose, too. Though I may be a little hesistant about it.

"I'm pulling over," Sasuke started to slow down his pace when we arrived at the front gates of his parents' home. I looked myself at the side mirror, feeling nervous when my mind involuntarily reminded me of the new added item on my invisible problem list, specifically to the self consciousness around the Uchiha family.

"Come on, tiger. It's not like you haven't met them before." Sasuke noted on the other side, which was a fair point. We walked through the pathway leading to front doors while I mumbled and thought of another reason out.

"Yeah, but, this time they'll be meeting me as your girlfriend, not your plain old secretary before, and I don't even know which one would be disappointing. Or perhaps it is both, and the other one is just- you know- less disappointing." At that point, Sasuke stopped on his tracks and faced me, I could've sworn he was getting irritated already and was merely just holding back a sigh of exasperstion.

"What are you worried about?" He asked gently, tucking in strands of hair behind my ears.
"What do you mean?" Pulling up my innocent voice. Yet one raise of his eyebrow and, well, after a long audible sigh escaping on my lips, "I'm just worried- they won't like me for you."

"Sakura, mom likes you so much that she wants me to 'lock you in' and make you pregnant." He snorted out.

"Wait, what-"
"She sounds desperate sometimes."

I didn't expect that that statement would actually make me feel ease at all. I flushed looking at Sasuke, feeling bad for doubting myself.

"Good evening, sweetie," Mrs. Mikoto kissed Sasuke on the cheek and added a little comment of "..and his lovely woman," as she kissed me on my cheek this time.

"You look so beautiful tonight, Sakura," Sasuke's mom took me away from him and hooked her arms on mine while we walked through the living room on the way to the dining room of their home.

"Thank you, Mrs. Mikoto, you look radishing yourself." I complimented back, but not just for the sake of give & take compliments. She does look beautiful, we look more like sisters rather than a mother-daughter pair. It was just amazing how young she looks compared to others around her age.

"Good Evening," I greeted gently when we made it to the table. Mr. Uchiha was sitting in the very edge of the table, responding to my greeting with a nod. It was a relief though that he looked a lot more welcoming than those of before.

Mrs. Mikoto unhooked her arms on mine making me look over her as she hugged another tall and handsome Uchiha by the house.

"Itachi, my love, I missed you." She kissed him on the cheeks while his reaction looked a lot like Sasuke's.

I looked over him for quite some seconds, okay, maybe a minute. And I just can't deny that the Uchiha race is getting hotter by the minute you stare.

A fake cough and a hand slithering to take a hold of my hip caught me off guard behind my back. Shiver crossed over my spine when his warm breath reached closely on my ear. "I think you're staring at the wrong man." He whispered lowly, but playfully. Although it sounded almost like a dare.

"Brother, it's been a while." Itachi smiled and went closely to us. "And Ms. Sakura, it's nice meeting you, again. Forgive me, I failed to introduce myself formally to you on our first encounter. I wasn't in a very particularly good mood by then," He said with a gentle voice followed by a hold on my hand a swift kiss on top of it.

With my face flushing with his approach, I only managed to say, "I-it's nice meeting you too, Mr. Itachi."

"Stop sweet talking my woman," Sasuke said rather dangerously but playfully to him as he hooked his arm over his brother's shoulder roughly.
"I never complained when you sweet talked women I was with before." His brother argued back as they both walked towards the table. I giggled by myself on how playful they were and followed them.

"If you don't seperate them now, they're gonna wrestle." Mrs. Mikoto whispered to me.

"Okay okay, everybody behave and I meant you two." She said with a little higher tone.
"I'll go and get dinner," She mumbled to me.
"I'll help you, Mrs. Mikoto."
"Why thank you."

We headed to kitchen and there were sets of food filled plates of different dishes. We took it one by one and placed it neatly on the dining table.

"Thank you for joining us today, Sakura dear, I'm glad another woman like me is eating with us. I've been with these men for years, ugh." She chuckled as she took another plate from the kitchen closely followed by me.
"Oh, it's my pleasure, Mrs. Mikoto."
"Being the only woman here," She sighed a bit heavily, "It's like you're feeding packs of hungry beasts that has an endless pit for a stomach."

"If you don't mind, I can lend you hand during these very hard times," I giggled with the thought of Sasuke being a beast, they'd have a lot in common.
"That's very sweet of you. I wish you're here more often." She smiled gently as she placed the big plate of Turkey in the middle of the table.

"Sakura, have a seat," Mr. Fugaku suddenly said which made me flinch a bit since his voice always seems to make me nervous.
"Thank you Mr. Fugaku," I smiled and sat by the nearest seat available when Mrs. Mikoto took her seat as well.

Sasuke sat closely beside me, and not a moment later, he and Itachi started digging in, well, we followed right away, let's just say because we didn't want leftovers.

"So... how's it going with you two?" Mrs. Mikoto asked enthusiastically after she chewed her first bite and clasped her hands together like she was ready for the conversation.
"Here we go again," Sasuke's dad mumbled under his breath while Sasuke sighed and Itachi started chuckling and said rather mockingly, "well, that came in fast."

Me, on the other hand, astonished as of the moment because I didn't know the answer, looking like a fool with my mouth wide open while I was about to put in my spoonful.

"Good, mom."
"Any news?" She asked another, more enthusiastic this time.

Sasuke looked at me with his this-is-hopeless face.

"No mom, we're not engaged yet."
"Then-"
"No mom, she's not pregnant."
"Oh- okay- well- good move buddy." Mrs. Mikoto rolled her eyes with obvious sarcasm on her voice and cursed under her breath while Itachi was obviously restraining a good laugh.

"Excuse me, washroom," She glared at Itachi who immediately pulled up a blank face.

"Sorry about that, Sakura. She's been emotional lately, crying over how she's gonna die without seeing any grandchildren." Itachi said apologetically. "Nice move there, little bro. You could've gone a little more gentler and slower about it." He added before he took another bite of his dinner.

"You're not the one who gets call every other day asking if your girlfriend is already pregnant."

"Well I get calls every other day too, asking if I already have a girlfriend like you do."

Is it always this silly? It's like I'm seeing a different side of them. Even though this was my second time having dinner with Sasuke's family, it felt different- a whole level of different. It felt as if they were more - open and comfortable.

"Forgive us, Sakura. How have you been doing?" Mr. Fugaku interrupted while he was slicing his steak on the plate.

"I've been amazing, thank you for inviting me over,"
"Pleasure's ours. I hope you don't mind me asking questions,"
"Oh, no, I don't mind."

"Where does your father work?"

Way to go Sakura, first question and you don't even know the answer.

"To be honest, I'm not quite sure, I- I actually just met him again for almost 8 years he'd been gone, so we're still catching up."

"8 years?"
"Oh, yes, he was in an accident. We believed he was- gone. But turns out he survived."

"I see. How about your mom?"
"My mom? Well, she's a housewife, and she doesn't have a permanent job."

"Oh, I'd like to meet her someday." Mrs. Mikoto emerged suddenly, returning back to her seat. "What's her name?"

"Mebuki Haruno,"

The moment I said mom's name, it was as if something had changed and the smile printed on Mrs. Mikoto's face faded for a minute or two.

Yet she smiled right away and said, "Hm. Really sounds familiar to me. Well, anyway, I'm very sorry about earlier. I hope you don't take it personally."

After the two brothers almost finished all the food at the dinner table, few good chit chats and bonding time with the Uchiha family, I had gotten really comfortable with them.

"You sure you don't want to stay for the night?" Mrs. Mikoto said with a crack on her voice. Obvious that she was getting emotional again.
"Mom, we'll be here next week." Itachi hugged his sobbing mother.
"Okay- I love you, come back okay?!"
"Bye little bro and Sakura," He waved goodbye and a wink to me, making me blush like a little high school girl finally getting in touch with her crush.

Oh wait- what am I thinking?

"That's the wrong Uchiha to blush on, babe." Sasuke gritted his teeth.

"We've got to go too, she needs to go home early."
"Oh, yes, I'm sure her mom will be worried."
"No one's home on their place,"

"Wait, so she's alone?" Mrs. Mikoto placed her hand on her chest, like it was somewhat unbelievable.
"Sort of.." Sasuke mumbled.

"No, you can stay here, sweetie." Sasuke's mom hooked her arms to mine once again as she lead me inside, I wanted to resist, but I didn't want to see her sad and emotional again.
"Oh, I really am sorry for the intrusion."
"Nonsense. I'd love to have you here. I'll show you your room and some of my night gowns you can use for the night."

"Mom," Sasuke tried to argue, not pretty sure why,
"Shush, Sasuke. If you want to stay there with her at her house, why not here on our house?" She smirked and leaded me to the stairs.

Sasuke ran his hands over his beautiful hair. Clicked on his car keys and locked his car.

"Seriously, dad. How did you survive that?" He mumbled under his breath.

"It takes years of practice." His dad shook his head and left.
"I heard that!" Mrs. Mikoto shouted at them but went gentle on me like I was fragile little thing.

Now isn't this weird? Or exciting?

Sleepover at the house of my boyfriend's parents? What could possibly happen?
