Part 85

Taking the usual turns and paths towards his room, I stood in front of his bedroom door with hesitation, I couldn't decide, battling in my mind was that - if this is okay to visit him or I could have just gave him space for a while.

Storing all my courage in my chest and letting it out in one blow, I've decided to go forward, he was troubled, and being his girlfriend meant I should be someone who will lend him a hand or simply make him feel I was there for him.

Sighing, I balled my hand into a grip and lifted it to knock when the door suddenly flew open. Sasuke looked at me with confusion for a second, and amusement right after, while I looked back at him, stunned and halfway down to backing out.

By the looks of it, he was still wearing his formal attire for work, yet this time his necktie was gone, his hair was ruffled and messy in a sexy kind of way, his coat already off of him, his sleeves tucked up above his elbows and three buttons on his white linen shirt were undone, giving a good glimpse of his chest.

Goodness, am I observative or what.

"Luring yourself into the trap?" He smirked playfully. "Come in." He gestured inside, which made me want to back out 99%.
"On second thought-"

I gasped, he took me by surprise when his arms slithered by my waist, wrapping it carefully and carried me inside.

"Sa-sasuke!" I shouted, sounding exasperated as much as possible. His arms left me soon when my feet landed the ground.
"You're not going anywhere until you tell me why you're here." He crossed his arms over his chest, leaning over the door.
"I was just- paying you a visit!" I exclaimed.

"Most of the time, girls who come knocking on my door keeps begging for more."

Asshole.

That wasn't even funny.

"Why- thank you for such a reminder you're a playboy. Now get out of my way. I'm going home." With my blood almost reaching its boiling point, I looked at him fiercely at his dark obsidian eyes,

"Don't make me carry you again." He said, a smirk trailing over his lips.
"Okay, give me a reason not to go." I crossed my arms over my chest, arching one eyebrow at him, glaring.
"You're my girlfriend, you're worried, and that was the past and it never happened again." His eyes carefully scanning for my reaction, although he looked at me playfully like he was enjoying the show.

I snorted out and rolled my eyes, asking for an explanation wasn't a good idea if you really want to go. One way or another he'll make his point and get away with it.

Carefully observing his room, his desk was filled with paperworks, this may be usual, but the amount of it wasn't. Clearly, something was up, and he didn't care enough to tell me.

In the end I couldn't resist, I was really worried about him, being troubled with this and that.

I sat on the edge of the bed, while he sat on his chair beside the desk, studying the paperworks I assume his dad had sent him to review. (Normally he would pin me down in the bed, but now.. Wait what-)

"Sasuke," I mumbled,
Not leaving his eyes on the paper, he hummed, "Hmm?"
"Is there something troubling you? Something I should know..?" Twirling my hair absent-mindedly, I asked nervously.

He winced, and he might've thought I didn't notice it. I'd rather not acknowledge it but wait for his answer instead, I don't want to hold him back. Sasuke placed the folder he was studying on top of his desk. Focusing on me this time, his dark obsidian onyx eyes swarming with unreadable thoughts stared through mine.

He sighed before he decided to say, "In fact, there is. You're still my secretary after all. There are issues with the company, conflicts that needs to be straightened up. I can't disclose much information since I haven't fully confirmed it yet. Long story short, the company is at risk if we don't resolve and cope up with this immediately." Though he acknowledged it to me, somehow it felt that he was talking to himself more than me. A sign that he is more troubled than what I've thought.

But, Itachi said he needed this.

Why?

Why would Sasuke need this?
Did he just simply say that because he really didn't want the position?

"Well, I understand, knowing you, you'd easily find a way through it." I motivated him, smiling brightly at his blank and expressionless face, making me doubt my ability to motivate him and all. He smiled for a minute or two though, but it really didn't convince me. I know he was still bothered.

But what kind of problem would be big enough to waver Sasuke? What happened to the over confident Sasuke who doesn't even need the help of the other board members?

"W-want me to massage your head?" I asked, noticing he was carefully rubbing the left side of his forehead. He didn't mutter a word but he stood from his seat and lied on the bed. Sighing audibly, I stared at him, not knowing if he meant yes or no.

Not until he looked at me, "What're you waiting for?"

I crawled towards him and rested his head on my lap. His eyes were closed, resting like he never had it for weeks. I started tracing my fingers on the shape of his forehead, the slick eyebrows, his flawless face. I started massaging firmly, but also gentle, at the sides of his forehead. He had been stressed out ever since he was asked by his father to come over that urgent meeting and I can't help but feel worried.

The company is at risk if we weren't able to resolve it or we can't cope with it, he did say. What does that mean?

I wish you'd tell me, I said in my mind while carefully staring at him. "Sasuke?" I whispered softly while my fingers continued to linger on him. Yet he didn't show any reaction of hearing his name, he probably fell asleep. I leaned in closer and whispered one more time, "Sasuke?"

With great disappointment, he did not react. Yep, definitely asleep.

Pouting in an instant, I sighed inwardly and continued staring at him instead.

He was really something. A too good to be true one of a kind.

What would've happened if this man sleeping in my lap haven't been driving his car by that time? I wouldn't have met him. I would still be working for Mr. Namito and Aki's Ramen Shop.

I giggled, remembering the memories we had.

Tracing his nose gently, more of touching him than massaging. My fingers ran over the shape of his lips. His smirk, his grins, his lips pressing in a thin line, his kiss, all with this beautiful lips of his.

He was asleep and I was out of my mind. I leaned in closer, reaching it with mine. I kissed him gently for a second and broke it right away, but it was too late to go back when I felt his big hand pushing my head down, making me kiss his lips harder. I winced, not expecting it, but I liked it.

Just then, our night ended, with problems set aside.

"What took you so long?" Dad suddenly greeted me in the front porch, with a worried and devasted look on his face. "It's 10:30 in the evening, sweetie. You shouldn't be running or wandering around by that time. You're a woman now!" He shouted in a gentle way, making me feel more bad.

"Dad I'm ok-"
"How'd you get home?"
"Bus-"
"We're going to buy your own car tomorrow."
"What?" I winced at his sudden statement that sounded like he was using his this-is-final tone.
"If you're going to be home this late, I don't want you on public transportation. It is very dangerous." Dad exclaimed, bear hugging me.

I looked at mom over his shoulder as I hugged him back with a confused look, but she only answered me with a faint smile, a shrug and a look that meant there's nothing we can do about it.

"Where have you been, young lady?" He said, more authority in his voice now, more dad like.

"I- uh-" I mumbled under my breath and absent mindedly tucking my loose hair strands behind my ears. I didn't know what answer would sound appropriate.

"I was with my boyfriend dad-" Gulping for my life, dad blushed with his face contoured in a not-so-happy way, I decided not to continue.
"That's- this- what-" His eyes bulge with what? Anger and fear?

"Oh now look what you've done with your father." Mom scolded a bit and ran over to dad and carefully rubbed his back, although mom sounded more playful. "Your dad knowing you have a crush could've gave him a heart attack, you know! Go to your room young lady!" Mom snorted madly at first, but she couldn't help it and ended up laughing.
"M-mebuki!" Dad shouted,
"What?"

"I'm really really sorry dad." Pouting my lips in a cute way,
"No, that will not work on me anymore, you child!" He shook his head and crossed his arms while I consistently pouted in the cutest way possible.
"Dad..."
"Fine, fine, fine. But I'll have you bring him here, tomorrow!"

Phew, that was fast.

After a quick warm shower, I wrapped myself on the pink and freshly scented body towel on the inside closet in the bathroom. Boy, the bathroom was spacious and I remembered Tenten saying it was supposed to be big especially for women.

I splattered myself on the soft bed, feeling uneasy yet comfortable, it's just that I'm not familiar with the feeling of being luxurious.

I texted Sasuke, remembering dad had wanted to meet him tomorrow. Although I agreed to that, I only did to stop dad from worrying too much about it. I hardly believe Sasuke would have enough time to play around or meet my dad, knowing his situation. I should just think of a better excuse to keep dad's impression on my boyfriend the same way as it is rather than worsen it. But it wouldn't hurt to ask him anyway.

'Are you free tomorrow?' 11:05 PM

Patiently waiting for his response, I looked over the stars beside the window pane of my room, starting to finally appreciate and get curious about those ball of gases billion miles away. Startled, my phone rang suddenly for a call.

Master calling....

"Sasuke!"
"What's up with your question?"
"I- I was just asking-"
"Asking me for a date?"
"No- I- I know you don't have much time starting from now so-"

"Why? Do you wanna go somewhere?"
"Actually no, and I do understand if you don't have much time, I just considered it. Dad wants to meet you tomorrow, but really it's ok-"

"I can spare some time."

"Wait- really?"
"Hng."
"Are you serious? I mean-"

"Sakura."
"Okay okay! Thank you Sasuke~"

Unexpectedly, Sasuke will be coming over tomorrow to meet dad. I was pretty sure that Sasuke wouldn't have the time, but then he agreed right away. Setting those aside, I flopped on my bed happily and started dozing off to dreamland.

Falling recklessly on the floating car at the top of the clouds because I hit 71 when the speed limit was 70, I bolted awake. Damn car, I don't even know how to drive. Rubbing my eyes slowly, I stretched my arms as far as it could get, yawning to neverland. Refusing to be fully awake.

With my eyes closed, I felt the vibration of my phone. Reaching towards the side of my pillow where my phone was located, I peeked over the text message lingering on the pop up.

'On my way.' 8:02 AM.

On my way?... on my way.. wait.

My eyes bursted open, I finally remembered. Sasuke! With another look on the text message, yep, from Master it is.

I ran to the bathroom and fixed myself, with my hair combing, dress choosing and a lot more of stuffs to do to look presentable. I wore something simple though, with a black 3/4 sleeve blouse that has daisies for prints and just a not-so-short shorts.

I literally ran outside before mom and dad when I heard the familiar sound of a car growing closer.

My heart pounded like crazy. Was it excitement or fear?

I want dad to like him.

I want them to get along.

I want dad to accept him.

I want dad to accept us.

And somewhere deep down in my mind is afraid it may not happen, silently hoping it won't resort to that.

He parked his car and finally went out, wearing his slick black long sleeved shirt with his hair looking beautifully neat and messy.

God, he looks hot.

I walked over him and accompanied him inside, still couldn't believe this hot creature is mine.
"Mom, Dad, Sasuke's here." I almost whispered, but it was loud enough to make someone notice our arrival.
"Oh come in, Sasuke, breakfast." Mom greeted sweetly like she always does.
"Where's dad?" I asked curiously, not seeing his presence just yet.
"He'll be out soon. Just preparing." She giggled as she setted the food on the table.

"Honey have you seen my-" Dad appeared suddenly in the dining room, stopping in midsentence as he took sight of Sasuke beside.

Something about their encounter made me feel uncomfortable and uneasy. But I guess this is one of feelings you'll have to go through if you have a boyfriend you want your parents to fully accept.

"Are you Sakura's..?" Dad said in a deadly, uninterested voice, a tone we barely hear from him.

"Yes," Sasuke breathed, not breaking his eye to eye contact with dad.

"It's nice meeting you again."
