"Come on!" Donghyuck whined as Mark refused to move from his spot. They were stood in between the doorframe of Mark's apartment. "Why aren't you coming with me?"
"Donghyuck," Mark started off slowly, rubbing his eyes with his hands. "I'm tired, okay? I rather spend the day at home."
"That's bad for your health," Donghyuck frowned and placed his hands on his hips. "You need to do exercise, be healthy. Move around and eat food, you know? Ten hyung was visiting the other day," Donghyuck blabbered on as he pushed Mark to the side, entering his house and kicked his shoes off. "He was showing me cute cat videos and now, don't get me wrong, as much as I love cats I didn't want to see them all the time."
Mark awkwardly stood at his entrance whilst Donghyuck moved around, shutting the door and grabbed Mark's hand, dragging him to the living room. "Are we not...going out?"
"You just said you didn't want to," Donghyuck rolled his eyes, taking his jacket off and threw it across the room, somehow managing to make it land on one of the chairs — Donghyuck normally kept his clothes there. "I'm not going to force you to leave. We'll just have to adapt and have this date at your house."
"The date?" Mark choked on air at the mention of a date and Donghyuck casually dismissed it, as if it meant nothing to him. Just as he was about to question the younger on what their plan was, Donghyuck held a hand up to him.
"Since we've shifted to your house," Donghyuck sighed with a tint of frustration (and a burst of guilt spread through Mark, twisting his stomach in a way he knew far too well). "I'm going to go wash my face, what a waste, honestly."
Donghyuck waltzed out of the room and Mark found himself staring into space blankly. He bit down on his lip, feeling bad for ruining whatever Donghyuck had planned and moved to fix the jacket that had just fallen onto the ground. It was a leather jacket - of course it was, Donghyuck loved them - and Mark smiled at it.
"Cute," he said softly as he placed it back, only barely noticing that something had fallen out of the pockets. He bent down to pick it up and almost screamed at what it was. "Tickets to the most expensive amusement park? What was he thinking?"
Mark felt dread flood him for a second time and all the butterflies in him suddenly disappeared. Donghyuck had spent so much money and probably took a day off work to go out with Mark and all he had done was cancel on him, make him waste so much money and makeup. During the time in which Mark was drowning in regret, Donghyuck returned, a clean pink face and he tapped himself dry with one of the towels he stole from Mark's wardrobe.
His eyes landed on Mark and then his hands and he sighed.
"Mark hyung?" Donghyuck snapped him out of his thoughts, causing him to drop the tickets and stared at him with a surprised look. "Are those the tickets?"
"Yeah," Mark lowered his head in shame. Not only had he ruined the entire day, he had been caught snooping around. "Sorry, I was just- the jacket fell down. I was just picking it up."
"Mark hyung," Donghyuck repeated, a lot closer than before and Mark had no idea when he started making his way to him. "It's fine, I'm not annoyed."
"Oh," he breathed out in relief, his body visibly relaxed and Donghyuck didn't like the sight of that. He never once realised before that Mark was always so stressed out. Before their phone call together, Donghyuck had assumed that Mark was happy, content and calm. He wasn't effected by his words. Clearly he was.
"Come on, let's get comfortable," Donghyuck pushed Mark to the sofa and hurried into the kitchen, pulling out snacks from a bunch of cabinets and jumped into the seat next to Mark. The older, a little taken back by the action, brought his knees to his chest and watched as Donghyuck turned the TV on, flicking through the channels. Words were sprouting out of Donghyuck's mouth but Mark wasn't paying much attention.
He missed this. He missed hanging out with Donghyuck. He missed all of his friends. He wondered if they felt the same. It had been a while since they last met and he didn't know if they even liked him anymore. Then again, why would they? Not even Mark's ex-girlfriend could like him.
Mark tilted his head back, annoyed that once again his mind went in that direction.
"Mark hyung," Donghyuck placed a hand in his cheek and forced him to look at him. "What's on your mind? Come on, tell me."
"Nothing," Mark smiled, and turned to look at the TV, only getting forced back to face Donghyuck.
"Mark hyung, you know you can trust me," Donghyuck spoke softly, caressing Mark's cheek and trailed it down to his neck, massaging his nape gently.
"I know," Mark closed his eyes as Donghyuck leaned forward, pressing his forehead against Mark's, allowing the older to relax in his hold. "It's just..."
"Just?" Donghyuck echoed.
"'m tired," he answered, his breath fanning over the younger. Donghyuck stared at his face, eyeing over his eye bags and sighed to himself. He didn't know what to do to be able to help Mark. Donghyuck was willing to do anything but the older was refusing to tell him the issue.
"Let's watch a movie, hm?" Donghyuck pulled away, frowning at the lack of warmth before grabbing the remote again. He finally settled on a movie when he felt Mark's head land on his shoulder. A sound of surprise left his mouth and he glanced to his left to see that Mark had already fallen asleep. His lips parted to say something but the serene look on his face caused him to go silent.
The colours on the TV changed and although Donghyuck was staring at the screen, his mind was elsewhere. The only noise in the room was the chatter from the TV, the buzzing of the fridge and the soft pants from Mark.
