"what's wrong with me, Tae?"

Beomgyu cried to Taehyun as the younger boy held him in a tight hug.

"there's nothing wrong with you Beomgyu, they'll all regret breaking up with you"

the older friend took a deep breath in before wiping the tears from under his eyes.

"you think so?"

"yeah. i know so. you're amazing, of course they would regret leaving someone like you"

Taehyun looked down at Beomgyu, still holding him in a hug, and admired the fact that he was still pretty with a red and swollen face from crying.

yeah, that's right, Taehyun has THE biggest crush on Beomgyu, but can never tell the older about it.

why? because Beomgyu is always going out on dates, getting boyfriends, and coming back to Taehyun crying when none of them work out.

Taehyun feels as if the only reason Beomgyu ever comes to him is when he's heartbroken.

"can we just.. stay like this?"

Beomgyu finally looked up at Taehyun when he said those words and the younger boy quickly looked away to not make it obvious how he was staring.

he then closed his eyes and let out a soft sigh. if this was the only way he'd get this close to Beomgyu, he'd take it.

"okay"

"are you ever going to say anything to him?"

Taehyun listened to his friend, Kai, speak while looking across the small cafe at Beomgyu who was sat at a distant table laughing away with a new guy.

"i can't, it would ruin our friendship"

he watched as the new guy with Beomgyu leaned closer to the older boys face and wiped something off his lips.

that action made Taehyun close his eyes momentarily and turn back to face Kai.

"you clearly can't stand to see him with anyone else, why not give it a go?"

"Kai, seriously, he doesn't see me like that-"

"what are we talking about?"

the pair of boys jumped in their seats at the new voice and looked over to see Beomgyu stood next to their table, hand in hand with the new guy.

Taehyun made eye contact with the guy and quickly looked away. he didn't want anyone to see the hurt in his eyes.

it didn't help that Beomgyu sat down next to him and made the new guy sit at their table as well.

"we weren't talking about anything important"

"oh, well this is-"

Taehyun spaced out as Beomgyu began happily introducing the new guy to them both. he only snapped out of his thoughts when he felt everyone's stare on him.

"i'm sorry, what?"

he looked straight at Beomgyu and the older boy rolled his eyes playfully.

"are you gonna introduce yourself to Jae?"

"oh, right, i'm Taehyun"

he sent a weak smile over to the new guy but it slowly dropped when he saw both his and Beomgyu's hands intertwined on the table.

"are you alright Tae? you seem very out of it today"

he looked straight at Beomgyu once again and this time put on a bigger smile.

"i'm fine, just tired"

and it's happening.. again. except it was different this time.

"you're lying"

"i wish i was, Gyu. why would i lie to make you hurt again?"

"Jae would never do that!"

Taehyun was out shopping a few hours prior and when he saw Jae sat on a park bench cuddling up to a girl, he knew he had to let Beomgyu know.

"how do you know? are you seriously going to believe a guy you met a week ago over your best friend?"

"maybe-"

"are you serious, Beomgyu?"

this was the first time Taehyun had ever raised his voice at the older boy, making him look up at him in shock.

"it hurts to see you get heartbroken, but it also hurts when that's the only reason you ever come to me!"

Beomgyu was about to speak, but Taehyun kept going.

"it hurts to see you finding someone new every other week when i've been here waiting the entire time!"

"i hate how you always come crying to me when you get broken up with, or even when you come to me smiling that you've found someone new-"

"Tae-"

"i like you so much, Beomgyu. but you've never been able to see that!"

"wait, really?"

Taehyun stayed silent but nodded at Beomgyu before looking away, and just as he was about to walk out of the room, Beomgyu spoke again.

"i'm such an idiot"

this caused Taehyun to stop in his tracks and look back over at Beomgyu who now had tears in his eyes.

"i tried dating so many people to try and lose my feelings towards you because i thought you would never like me back,"

"and then the reason each guy broke up with me is because they kept asking about you"

Taehyun didn't know what to say. Beomgyu liked him too?

"did you not want to find out if i liked you back?"

Beomgyu's mouth opened and closed, the words not wanting to come out.

"i wanted to know, but i just got scared and thought that trying to get rid of my feelings would make everything better"

"but it was so, so hard"

"and i could never lose my feelings towards you"

Taehyun pressed his lips together tightly and took a deep breath in to control the tears that wanted to fall from his eyes.

"do you want to.. give us a try?"

he spoke out, a lot quieter than he was hoping to, but Beomgyu heard.

"i do. i really do"
