❝ PRESSURE MACHINE !! ❞

yeahhhhh so "the pitt" has bewitched me body and soul, i watched it in two days and just finished a second rewatch, so you better believe i started drafting a fic for it! here is the cover for PRESSURE MACHINE, featuring my newest babygirl of an oc, carys lane.

sophie thatcher (specifically in the boogeyman) is the fc for carys but since she has no good resources from that movie i decided to go with a faceless cover. and i really like it! the colouring is good and i really love the text as well as the overlay of the BP monitor machine. i've been trying to get better at faceless covers so let me know what you think!!

now for a little rant about this fic <33

carys is a 19-year-old MS3 (third-year med student) alongside javadi, who also happens to be her best friend. the two girls have grown up together, basically being two child geniuses that spent their entire academic careers together. however, when carys was 14, she went through an incredibly traumatic ordeal that nearly killed her (trigger warning for some pretty heavy topics regarding this!!). the following surgeries she had are now famous, and the "carys lane" case is known by pretty much every doctor in pittsburgh and the U.S., so it causes some pretty complicated feelings for her when she arrives in the pitt.

this fic will be short, with every chapter being one hour of the shift, just like the show, and due to the fact that i am not a doctor and have no knowledge of the medical field whatsoever, this fic will be focusing more on the emotional relationships rather than the technical aspects. it will centre around carys and her relationship with everyone else, how she deals with her past trauma, and how she fits into the ED.

carys is one of the softest, yet most complicated characters i've tried to write. she works well under pressure but struggles to keep her personal feelings from affecting her relationship with patients. she's too smart for her own good and prefers to watch and observe rather than be the one leading, yet she's so so sweet and cares about others more than she cares about herself GAHHHH i love her so much and i hope you do too!
