After this chapter, until the chapter titled, "Gender vs. Sex," everything will be touching upon romantic orientation.

A persons romantic orientation depicts what genders and sexes that person can be romantically attracted to.

This is not to be confused for sexual orientation, as the two are often different.

Additionally, a person may experience romantic attract for certain genders that they do not experience sexual attraction to, and vice versa. A person may also not experience romantic attraction of any kind. For example, a person can be panromantic but heterosexual.
