Le Grand Guignol

At the compound, Klaus lies in bed shirtless in his room. His eyes are closed, and he's gasping in pain from Papa Tunde's blade being embedded in his chest. Elijah watches him, clearly conflicted. Lizzie was here, too.

Lizzie was wearing a T-shirt with a jean and some boots.

"This was all you." Elijah said to his brother.

Lizzie was not happy, like her mood had literally taken a tuble down Mount Everest.

"Did you really have to stab him?" Lizzie scoffed as the original picked up a scalpel, before he rolled his shirt sleeves up.

"It was necessary, Lizzie."Elijah told her, meeting her eyes briefly before she looked back down at the hybrid.

"I'm sure."Lizzie muttered.

Pushing past Elijah she snatched the scalpel from his grasp. Her eyes trailed down the red scar on the original's chest. She took a seat down on the edge of the bed before she took a deep breath, her eyes fell upon his face before she sliced along the scar. Placing the scalpel on the side she held her hand slightly over his chest, not touching skin and shut her eyes, feeling the dark magic from the blade.

As the blade lifted up from his chest a loud groan emitted from Klaus lips. She sent him an apologetic look as his eyes fluttered open, his eyes met hers as she grabbed the dagger. She turned around and shoved the bloodied blade against Elijah's chest in annoyance. Elijah grabbed it with a tight smile as the blood from the blade smeared across his clean dress shirt.

Elijah leant down as he spoke to his younger brother "Niklaus, it was not my desire to bring you pain, but I will not see you hurt Rebekah."

He then says to Lizzie "Now, I fear Sabine will be making a final move against us. I intend to find her and to end this."

Lizzie pursed her lips and gave him an awkward thumbs up as Klaus spoke up.

He muttered lowly, the original leaned forward with a frown "Elijah. You will pay for this."

Lizzie slapped a hand over her mouth turning to Elijah with a tight smile as she said "You can go now, we'll be fine."

Lizzie nodded reluctantly before turning and making his exit.

Lizzie looked down at the original who was staring at her blankly, she rolled her eyes as she muttered, pushing her hair to one side, offering her neck to him "Don't look at me like that, I'm the one who took that stupid out of you."

Lizzie let out a soft groan of pain as he fed from her "Jesus, slow down. It normally feels better than this."

Klaus pulled away from her neck, brushing a finger over the wound as it healed _ collecting the blood with the pad of his thumb before putting it in his mouth as he smirked "Yes, well I suppose that has something to do with the fact that I am bed ridden and you are usually wearing far less, sweetheart."

Lizzie looked down as his fingers fiddled with the hem of her clothes, her eyes flitted back to his, giving him a pointed look. He shrugged playfully, as playful as one can be after finding his sister and someone he saw as a son was plotted against him. His fingers tapped against her thighs boredly.

Lizzie sighed, placing her hand atop his as she fiddled with his ring "Nik..."

"No."He pointed at her, arching a brow.

Lizzie pulled a face as she defended "Uh... you don't even know what I'm gonna say."

"Trust me, I do. I'm in no mood to talk about Rebekah, she has done to me what no one else has managed through the years."Klaus huffed, giving her the side eye.

Lizzie rested her head against the headboard and stared down at him as she asked "And what's that?"

He responded "Rip my heart out."

Lizzie rolled her eyes as the original tried to push himself up on the bed. The siphon made her way over to him, grumbling under her breath as he grunted in pain.

"Pussy."She whispered as she grabbed his forearm, pulling him up as he shrugged on a shirt.

"Piss off."He mumbled as the pad of the finger trailed down the fading, red, scar that sat on his chest as he began buttoning up his shirt.

"Still in revenge mode? They could be anywhere in the world by now."Lizzie teased, earning an unamused look from Klaus, she rolled her eyes.

Klaus said as he looked up to her "Oh, I'm not so sure about that."

"No. Why're you smirking? Stop it."Lizzie pointed at him, eyes widening in worry.

Klaus merely lifted a shoulder, an innocent smile on his lips before he laid back down, Lizzie's eyes narrowed on him in suspicion.

He told her as she sat on the edge of the bed "They'll need a cloaking spell, and for that, they'll need a witch."

"But, who? None of the witches would..."Lizzie trailed before she realized "Davina."

Her face fell, they were going to bring Davina back.

Klaus spoke up "There's only one place they can go. Home."

Lizzie sat in an arm chair, cross-legged with a grimoire on her knee. She muttered under her breath as she flicked through the pages.

Her head snapped up as she heard the disgruntled noise of Klaus trying to push himself up from the bed. She rolled her eyes and shut the grimoire before she placed it down on the seat after coming to stand. The siphon rose a hand, using magic to push him back down, he gave her an unimpressed look as he sat on the edge of the bed, she sent him a pointed look as she came to a stand in front of him, crossing her arms over her chest.

"I don't know if you noticed, Nik, but you're like, half dead."She said as she arched a brow.

"I'm still hungry. There's a fresh blood supply in the kitchen."Klaus told her, shrugging his shoulders as he tried to push himself up only for her to narrow her eyes at him, pushing him back down.

Lizzie said "You won't make it that far. So, be a good little boy and get back into bed."

Klaus replied as he gave her an amused look "If I had a quid for every time a woman has tried that line on me"

"Then you'd be broke."Lizzie said as she gave him a false smile and tried to push him back into bed.

Klaus teased "I beg to differ. Some women actually find me quite charming."

Lizzie scoffed "Okay, Fabio. I don't wanna hear about your sex life, Klaus."

Klaus arched a brow in clear amusement, his lip curved slightly at her face.

He repeated as his hands found their way to her hips, lazily pulling her into him "Klaus? Don't tell me you're jealous, sweetheart."

"I'm not."She told him with a shrug.

Though the amused grin on Klaus' lips did not falter as he tells her "Don't worry, love, you're stuck with me forever."

Lizzie felt her heart flutter. Saying things like that make her all giddy and shit and she hated it. A soft smile tugged at her lips as she listened to the hybrid talk about the night of the opera.

"You like opera? That's cute."Lizzie teased earning an eyeroll from the hybrid.

"I always had a particular soft spot for Le Huguenots. I like the story. [He gets out of bed] It was a tale of forbidden love, a Romeo and Juliet of sorts. On the day they are to marry, family and long-festering hatred intervene. Thousands are massacred. A father even kills his own child in the final act. I can almost appreciate the irony."He said as he patted Lizzie's hip, gesturing for her to move out of the way he got up from bed before making his way into the parlour.

Lizzie huffed as she followed behind him.

"You're brooding. Cute, though I'm not sure that helps."Lizzie announced as she made her way into the room, finding the original pouring himself a drink.

"Not sure that helps."Klaus mumbled as he brought the glass of scotch to his lips.

"Don't bite my head off but..."Lizzie said, rolling her eyes as she made her way over to him.

"Elizabeth, sweetheart, when you start a sentence with 'don't bite my head off' it gives me the impression that whatever it is you have to say will, in fact, make me want to bite your head off."Klaus interrupted.

Lizzie huffed "Never mind then."

She crossed her arms over her chest. Klaus sighed, giving her a look before he placed his glass onto the table, grabbing her waist and pulling her into his chest. Lizzie smiled lightly, placing a hand on his chest.

Klaus reached down, grabbing his glass before he brought it back up to his lips. Lizzie's eyes watched him closely as he glanced out of the window, watching as the people scurried their away around the city. Klaus drifted off in his thoughts, thoughts of how his brother had drove Papa Tunde's blade into his chest, how Rebekah and Marcel, two people he cared for deeply, had called the one person he hated most, feared the most. Was he really that bad? His grip on the scotch glass tightened before a soft hand was laid atop his own.

He looked down at her with a sigh. Oh, how she calmed him down, with just one touch and he almost didn't want to send Rebekah into an endless cycle of pain, almost.

"They do. All I was gonna say is that they do love you, a lot. Elijah talks about you so much."Lizzie said as he gave her a look.

"Don't speak to me of Elijah."Klaus mumbled, releasing his hold on her as he made his way over to the window.

"He loves you, Nik."Lizzie repeated.

Klaus said nodding "Yes. He does, and he proves it time and again, even when my father enlisted him to kill me."

Klaus went on to tell her the story of how Mikael had covered Elijah while he was getting ready for the Opera, trying to convince him to take down Klaus. And Elijah declared that he would always choose Klaus.

"Elijah has always carried guilt for that night, for not stopping our father. I told him not to blame yourself. When your father wants to kill you, he wants to kill, there's nothing you can do about it. Oh, I hate to be a know it all..."Klaus shrugged lightly before his phone buzzed, the hybrid reached down into his pocket and checked it, a conniving smile pulled at his lips.

"No you don't."Lizzie scoffed as she crossed her arms over her chest.

Klaus' smile grew and said "You're right, I don't. My sister and her lover have been spotted in town. So, story time ended here, I'm afraid."

The original made his way over to a small ornament that sat on one of the tables and knocked it over, Lizzie's eyes widen as she watched him crouch down. Klaus looked up, smirk pulling at his lips as he pulled out a white oak stake, Lizzie's eyes widened even more, surely they were bound to pop out of her skull at any given time.

She pointed at him as her voice grew higher and as her hair flailed around her head rapidly "No. No, no, no, no!"

"You see, unlike my father's, this one cannot be destroyed."He said, looking down t the stake, twirling it around between his fingers before he looked up, he flashed her a gin just as he sped out of the room.

"Nik..."Lizzie said as she threw her head back in annoyance before she chased after him.

She made her way through the compound as fast as she could and turned around a corner, finding Klaus feeding on a man in the street.

"Nik, I get you're mad, okay? But It's Bex, she's your sister."Lizzie breathed out.

Klaus hesitated for a moment as he pulled away from the now, dead man, wiping his upper lip he turned to Lizzie.

"And I am her brother, yet she still chose to bring Mikael to us. You yourself know that he was the monster monsters were afraid of. Come, let me show you."Klaus stated as he grabbed ahold of her arm and sped off.

"Do you have to drag me everywhere?"Lizzie uttered at a huff as Klaus released his hold on her arm, they came to a stop outside the old Opera house.

" That night in 1919, when the opera house burned down on this very spot? That was my father at his worst. "He said before explaining the story of the Opera "And what a show it was. Mikael compelled the audience to watch it all, applaud as if it were the drollest of comedies, and then to leave celebrating a terrific night at the opera. I tried to save Marcel. My father had other ideas. Rebekah attempted to intervene. All these years, I actually believed she was trying to save me. But then big brother swooped in. Just when we thought all was lost. And so I ran, beaten like the dog my father believed me to be And as we fled for our lives, he burnt it all to the ground. And with it, we assumed, Marcel. I lived, but all that we had built died, as did the last shred of me that felt human. That is what my father took from me that night."

"Nik..."She breathed out, unknowing what to say.

It was rare when Klaus got emotional, when he talked about his feelings, but when he did Lizzie did the only thing she knew to, hold him, be there for him, but right now, he was so confused in revenge he wouldn't let her.

Klaus cupped her cheek in his hand, resting forehead against her as he said "I promise you I will not terrorize my sister and her lover for centuries. Nor will I humiliate and torment or dehumanize them. No, none of that. I will simply and quickly end them."

And then he was gone again.
