Chapter 14
-Mark P.O.V.-
Remind me to never, ever allow myself to get scratched by a Fallen.
That pain is unbearable... And I was barely scratched... I don't even know how Miranda felt when she got jabbed.
I opened my eyes quickly, and I raised myself to an upright position, causing my side to flare up again, causing me to wince with pain, some bits of blood to squirt out.
I cried out in pain, and brought a hand to the wound. It was a little deep.
"Darn." I muttered quietly.
I slowly stood up, using the large oak tree to support me. I darted my eyes around me.
I was sort of confused, preoccupied with the fact that I was still slowly bleeding out in the middle of a forest, probably with Fallen poison coursing in my veins, and I couldn't see anybody.
Wait a sec... What happened earlier? I thought I saw Mikayla.
Where had that girl gone to, I didn't care at the moment but I'll find her. She'll be back at camp. I just thank her later.
I slowly started to walk towards the sheathed sword, the one that Cyrus hid.
The black hilt didn't seem to reflect too much light, making it seem extremely light for it's size.
I tried to lift it, it was terrible to carry, and that was from either from the fact that it was heavy, or that I was extremely weak at the moment.
I decided that it was the latter, but in all honesty, I would've been seriously freaked if it was that heavy.
I sat back down, trying to conserve my tiny bits of energy I had left in me.
I don't think I was gonna make it.
I let my mind drift into unconsciousness.
