Chapter 27
-Miranda P.O.V.-
I watched as Cyrus stirred in his sleep.
"How can you be so sure of that?" I asked him.
"Simple really," he replied, and he pulled out what appeared to be a small vial that was filled with a dull purple powder, and he pulled of the cork that was inside it, and he held it to his nose, "Because of this."
At first, it appeared to have no effect, I leaned in closer, but immediately after that, Cyrus's eyes shot open, and he sat upright, and he bumped into my head. I immediately moved back, and I pressed a hand to where he had bumped into me, and I felt a lingering jolt in the vicinity of the bump.
I'll admit, my friend had one hard head, and I didn't like that, it hurt me a lot. "What the- Miranda?!" Cyrus replied, almost confused.
"H-Hey Cyrus," I replied with my eyes shut, "How're you feeling?"
"I mean, I could be feeling better if it weren't for the fact that I bumped into you." he chuckled lightly. My heart began to race from our close proximity.
"Okay," I stood up, "He's obviously fine." I stood up and began to walk out of the room.
"Miranda!" he called out to me, and I only stopped to listen to him, "I just wanted to find you!"
I looked back at him before nodding my head, and then I left the tent.
I marched on over to the nearby river, and I sat down, attempting to sooth my fast paced heartbeat.
It took a while before I had fully calmed down, and I had then by that point became entranced by the way that the river flowed.
I patiently waited for what had felt an eternity, and then suddenly I felt the touch of a hand on my shoulder, and I knew that I had a visitor.
I turned around to see Alyssa standing there, a worried look on her face. "I can get why you're here, but who?" she asked.
"A friend." I replied.
"No chance that you could tell me who it is, can you?"
"Absolutely not." I laughed at that.
Alyssa coughed, and I looked at her, "Are you sure you're okay? Because we can stay here for-"
"No," she wiped her mouth, "We need to get you back to your world."
"How could we ever do so?" I asked.
"It's simple," she sat down next to me, "The real question is whether or not you want to do it."
"Why?"
"Because, there is the chance, a rather high chance might I add, that you may not make it back."
"Tell me."
"Alright, but don't say I didn't warn you."
Alyssa looked around her before she leaned close to me, "There is a rumor."
"A rumor? Of what?"
"Well, there is a rumor of a man nearby, an older man who had unlocked the gates to interdimensional travel."
"Who?"
"A crazy old man who goes by the name of Pepe, and he can send you home. Here, he is the Rainbow Sage."
"Where can we find him?"
"Near here."
"What are we waiting for then, I need to go home."
"Alrighty then, we'll be on our way my morning. Get some sleep." she stood up.
"I could say the same to you." Alyssa laughed before she walked away.
Determination filled my eyes.
We're coming to you Mark...
Just you wait.
Miranda will return in the third installment.
