He slaps it and it turns off while he's on his bed sleeping. Makoto wakes up while he rubs his eyes, then he grabs his alarm clock to check the time

Makoto: 7:00 AM... Eh

He goes back to sleep until someone slams his bedroom door open to reveal a middle-aged woman who has his hairstyle and hair color, but the difference is, she has horse features being ears and tail. She smiles and shouts

Mom: RISE AND SHINE, LITTLE YUKINS!

Makoto wakes up as he lets out a groan

Makoto: Mom, it's 7:00 AM, It's too early...

Mom: Not early for a new trainer like you, come on! Let's get you prepared for Tracen Academy!

Makoto: Oh, it's today!?

Makoto gets up and he prepares himself to scout for his own trainee

Makoto arrived in Tracen Academy on foot, along with the other new Trainers starting their journey with their Trainees. A brown-haired girl wearing green arrives by the entrance and she bows down

Tazuna: Greetings, new trainers! Welcome to Tracen Academy, a boarding school where the girls can learn and train to aim for the Twinkle Series, and our motto is "Eclipse first, the rest nowhere". I'm your attendant, Tazuna Hayakawa, and I'm here to show you the ropes to be a trainer. Come with me, I'll give you all a tour first

Tazuna guides the new trainers, including Makoto around the school campus. Makoto looks around and he's fascinated about the whole concept for the horse girls to strive

Makoto: Wow...

Tazuna: Fascinating, right? Now this is the statue of the three goddesses

While Tazuna explains the story of the three goddesses, Makoto wandered off on his own and he found a race track where a lot of people gathered to watch, so he sat somewhere he could see, which is on the front and he found one of the racers that piqued his interest. A brown haired Umamusume wearing green office uniform and a red cape

Makoto: Wow...

Tazuna: There you are, Trainer

Tazuna arrives with the other new trainers

Tazuna: I see you already found the track. So many people love to watch their favorite racers run to the Twinkle Series and maybe aim higher than that

They all watch the racers run

Tazuna: This is where you can see your Trainee shine, and reach to the end of the track

Makoto sees the racer who piqued his interest hits first

Tazuna: Isn't it fun? Now then, let's get you all to scouting

Time skip

Tazuna leads the new trainers to the grounds and they see Umamusumes preparing for their race. Makoto sees the same Umamusume who raced to the first place is also looking for a trainer

Tazuna: Alright Trainers, if you spot a certain Trainee you want, just approach her and ask her if you can be her trainer

They all scatter around to find their Umamusumes while Makoto tries to approach her, but is soon interrupted by a crowd who surrounded her not long after

Luckily, she saw Makoto and their eyes lock on to each other until Makoto walks up to her and he offers her a clipboard

Makoto: W-Would you... Like to be my trainee?

Time skip

Makoto came out disappointed while he sighs

Makoto: Man, if only that crowd didn't block her, I would've gotten my first trainee. I'll just go back tomorrow

Makoto checks around if he has his clipboard

Makoto: Damn it, I'll buy another then

Meanwhile in the student council office

The Umamusume looks at the clipboard with an empty list that Makoto had dropped and she stares at it for a while, noticing his name

???: Makoto Yuki. A new Trainer...

She smiles before she writes her name on his list

The next day

Makoto groans by the noise of his alarm clock as he slaps it off and he wakes up to prepare himself again

Makoto: I'm up...

Mom: Good timing, Yukins! Your Trainee's here already!

Makoto: Trainee? Oh yeah, I couldn't ge-

He sees the dining room to find his mother is talking to Symboli Rudolf

Makoto: A-Ah... You're the one I was looking for, if only-

Rudolf: No need, I already have it

She shows him his clipboard and the list has her name on it

Makoto: Oh, that works...

Mom: It's almost time, you two should get going then!

She pushes the two out and she closes the door

Makoto: That was embarrassing

She chuckles

Rudolf: I find it entertaining

They walk their way to Tracen Academy

Rudolf: Let me introduce myself. My name is Symboli Rudolf, I'll be under your care from now on

Makoto: Well, my name is Makoto Yuki, I guess

She chuckled

Rudolf: Nice to meet you, Makoto

Makoto: Likewise... I'm new to the trainer stuff

Rudolf: What makes you decide on being a trainer, Makoto?

Makoto: Well... To make it short, I kinda like seeing Musumes race

Rudolf: Is there a long answer?

Makoto: I don't want to pry on that

Rudolf: I understand, Makoto

Makoto: So, what do I expect in this Training stuff?

Rudolf: So you are new? Very well then. As a trainer, you can decide on how you should train me. You can make me run a lap, swim around the pool, or study. I have my limits, so be warned about that. And yes, we can do outings if you want

Makoto: So you'll enjoy yourself?

Rudolf: You can say that. Is it okay if I can call you Makoto, or Trainer?

Makoto: Just Makoto is fine

Rudolf: Alright. Now then

She walks in front of him, making Makoto stop

Rudolf: Makoto, my ambition as an emperor is to create a world where all Umamusume can live in true happiness, where they can all enjoy their lives as one. I will keep on running no matter what, until I can reach my dream. Will you help me achieve that dream, Makoto Yuki?

And that was the time where Makoto saw the Emperor in her aura, and he could see a bright future behind her, and he's determined to help her achieve her goals no matter what. Makoto smiled and said

Makoto: I'll be right behind you, Emperor Rudolf

She chuckles

Rudolf: Thank you, Makoto. Now then, shall we get a cup of coffee? Or should we head to Tracen Academy, so we won't be 'Latte'

Makoto: ...

Rudolf: ...Get it...? Late...? Latte...?

Makoto: Wow, you suck at human communication
