A plate falls on the floor and breaks

Crash

"Mother": "YOU STUPID LITTLE SHIT!"

Smack

You grab your face on the spot your "mother" hit you on before your "older sisters" run in with more broken plates and cups

Miltia: *shows "mother" the broken cups and plates* "that wasn't the only ones he broke"

(Y/n): "w-w-wait, I-i-i didn't b-b-break them..."

After you said that, you instantly regretted it, as then your other "sister" Melanie came up to you and kicked you in the stomach.

Melanie: "Who said you could talk back!" *Kicks you again, then turns around and walks away*

Miltia does the same while your "mother" only looks at you trying to get up

"Mother": "Oh, and your father said he wants you to see him"

(Y/n): "..."

You get up and make your way to "father's" den. Every time he calls you there, something "bad" happens.

Time skip cause no thanks on describing the abuse.

After your "lecture" from your father, you (painfully) made your way to your room. Once inside, your only friend, Shadow, comes out from your shadow and helps you close the cuts you got from your "father" and on your wrists. Once you've recovered a bit, you decide that tonight would be the night you finally escape the hell your in. With Shadow's help, you were able to collect the things you need to escape overtime. Once night fell, you wrote your note ((a/n): I know, classic, but just keep reading.) And got out through the window in your room. After you escaped, you just ran, you ran as far as you could into the forest.

POV third

It seems that your sisters found your note before the morning, and showed it to "father" who was not pleased to know you left.

"Father": *sighs while ripping the note* "... You two, go bring him back" *slams hands on desk* "NOW! But if you can't find him, THEN YOU BETTER HOPE HE DIED!"

The twins, now scared, leave the room, knowing that if they don't find out your dead, they can't return. After they leave, "father" opens his scroll to call to someone.

Father: he left. Can the plan still proceed without him?

????: It can, but if he's still alive, he can ruin everything. It's better to just kill him.

Father: very well, I'll let the ones I sent to look for him know

????: Good. Also, remember what'll happen if you fail.

After he heard this, your "father" hears something behind him and turns around, only to be met with a horrifying sight.

Father: *sounding nervous* v-v-very well, sir. I'll have it done as soon as possible.

????: Good. Goodbye for now.

After he hangs up the call, he turns around again, only to see an all too familiar arm on the floor, with a wedding ring on it.

Time skip to next day

POV Yang

While dad was out, we got a message in the mail about mom... About how she got killed on her last mission. Ruby cried herself to sleep once she saw the mail. I don't blame her, she was a great mother, and to find out she died... it must really hurt her. However, I think I found a clue about my real mother, the one before dad married mom. The clue seems to point towards an old house a bit away from our usual path into town. Luckily, Ruby is asleep, so I can bring her with me easily on a wagon.

Small time skip

Yang (mind): "Finally, after so much walking, I finally found it. The house in the picture dad keeps. Hopefully there's a clue of where mother is in here."

POV third

The girl known as Yang goes to open the door. Once it's open, she freezes in place, staring at what she sees inside the house. She sees the eyes of grimm. Three beowolves stare at her, while her sister sleeps in the wagon. Yang, being unable to move, tries to scream out, but no sound escapes her mouth and she falls on the floor, shaking in fear.

However, before one can jump at her, a black wolf jumps out from the bushes and knocks it back, away from the two girls.

????: "Hurry! Run!"

Without a second thought, Yang runs away, pulling the wagon with her sister Ruby in it, as the wolf tries to keep the Beowolves back, running past a (white/silver) haired kid who runs next to the wolf, holding a dagger. However, before he could fight back, all the grimm were killed in one hit by a scythe.

????(2): "You three o- wait, Yang?! Ruby?!"

Yang: "U-uncle Qrow, I... I..." *Starts to sob quietly*

Seeing this, Qrow goes and runs up to her and hugs her, trying to calm her down as the boy backs away from them

POV (y/n)

After seeing this, you and Shadow decide to start making your way back into the forest, away from them. As you near the other side of the forest, the blonde girl saw this and runs after you.

Blonde: "Wait, please!"

However, you two ran away before she could get near you.

POV Qrow

Qrow: "Yang, who was that?"

Yang: "I don't know, but he saved my life. Also, when he ran past me before, I saw red marks on the sleeves his shirt and on the back... Almost like stains..."

Qrow: *walks up to her* "Are you sure you saw that?"

Yang: *nods her head* "yeah... Why?"

I curse under my breathe, so she doesn't hear, then I make my way to where Ruby is sleeping, pick her up, and turn towards Yang

Qrow: "let's take you two home, before I go looking for him"

Yang: *brightens up* "are you sure?"

Qrow: "yeah. If he has a red stain, he might need some help... Let's head back"

Yang: "Ok!" *Runs to him and grabs his hand with a smile on her face*

Qrow (mind): "if the red stain is what I think it is, that kid might need help... I just hope I'm wrong..."

Time skip to after Qrow drops the girls off

After dropping off the girls, I head out to look for the kid we saw earlier, and ok my way into the forest, I decide to call up Ozpin to see if he heard anything.

Ozpin: *picks up call* "hello, Qrow. Is everything ok?"

Qrow: "sadly no, I just saw a kid alittle while ago in the forest, he seems to be badly hurt, but I don't think it's from the grimm."

Ozpin: "how so?"

Qrow: "from what Yang told me, the kid has blood stains on his wrist and back. I'm afraid that he might be a run away from an abusive family. Is there any family that said one of their kids is missing?"

Ozpin: "hmm..." *Checks computer for info* "sadly, I haven't found anything about a missing kid... That might mean the parents don't know yet, or..."

Qrow: "... Or they don't care... Right?"

Ozpin: "sadly, yes..."

Qrow: "... So you think they abandoned him?..."

Ozpin: "... Either way, I'll look around on my end for any info on the boy, meanwhile you need to find him."

Once I end the call with Oz, I start looking around for the kid.

Time skip

Qrow: "... Kid, I know you're there, come out. I need to talk to you."

Once I said this, a weird looking dog or wolf appears, staring me down, until the kid comes out of the bushes, shaking in fear.

Kid: "W-who are you?..."

Qrow: *goes up to the kid slowly* "my name is Qrow Branwen, I just wanted to see if you're ok."

Kid: "(Y-Y/n)... Malachite..."

Qrow: "well, (Y/n), thanks for saving my nieces. That was a very brave thing to do."

(Y/n): "Y-your very w-w-welcome, sir..."

Qrow: "kid... I need to know, why are you out here alone?"

When I asked him that, I noticed he was starting to shake in fear, tears coming down his face before he speak.

(Y/n): "I... I ran a-away..."

Qrow: "why did you run away?..."

POV third

When he asked you that, you got up, turned away from him, and took off your shirt, revealing all the cuts and stab wounds on your back...

Qrow: "WHAT THE F-"

(Y/n): "He... My father did this to me. While my mother and sisters did nothing, driving me to do this..."

After saying that, you turn around and showed him your wrist, covered in cuts. As you start to cry again, he grabs your hand gently and pulls you into a hug.

Qrow: "... I won't take you back there, I promise"

After you called down, he told you about how he was going to talk with Ozpin about adopting you, which you were happy about.

Time skip (I know, alot of time skips, sorry about that)

Once the paper work is finished, he takes you to a house near where you met the girl, and knocked on the door. Then a man with blonde hair opened it, and greets you two with a smile.

Blonde guy: "Hey there, Qrow. Is this the kid you mentioned?"

Qrow: "yup. Meet my new son, Thorn Branwen."

(Y/n): "Thorn?"

Qrow: "Yup. Hope you don't mind the new name."

(A/n): from this point on till otherwise mentioned, your name is changed to Thorn.

Thorn: "I like it, thanks Qrow-uh, I mean Dad."

Qrow: *Snickers a bit* "you're welcome, son."

Taiyang: "well, come on in and meet your new family."

As you three go in, Taiyang calls someone from the stairs.

Taiyang: "Ruby. Yang. Come down and meet your new cousin!"

Both: "Coming!"

Then, two familiar looking girls came downstairs, one with lilac eyes and blonde hair, and the other with silver eyes and black with red tip hair.

Yang: "hi, I'm Yang. Yang Xiao Long." *Sticks hand out to shake your hand, which you did*

Ruby: "And I'm Ruby, Ruby Rose." *Does the same, which you shake as well*

Thorn: "H-hi, I'm (Y-... I mean Thorn, Thorn Branwen."

From that day on, the three of you were almost inseparable, with Ruby usually hanging on your arm and Yang usually having he arm around your shoulders when you three were hanging out. Even though you three were like siblings, it got to the point where you started to develop feelings for them, which they knew about,since they develop feelings for you too, except you never tried to hit on them, too scared that they only hang out with you out of pity. What's more, unbeknownst to you, both Ruby and Yang knew about your past, and they swore to help and protect you ever since they found out.

Over the course of years, you were trained in hand-to-hand combat by Taiyang, your Uncle who not only knew about you and the girls had feelings for each other, but even tried setting you three up together alot of times. Then you had your weapons training with Qrow, who gave you your weapon, "Crimson Death".

Then after a while he took you to practice fighting not only grimm, but bandits as well. Sadly, this was where you two noticed something: you weren't able to use weapons against people. Whenever you faced a bandit, you'd always tremble if you tried to fight using your weapon, but then, when you tried to fight hand-to-hand, you were able to fight the bandits easily. Qrow said it might have been due to what you've been through, with your "father" constantly hurting you with his sword.

After years of hanging out with your new family, fate decides to play a cruel joke on you. A joke so cruel, it'll shape history itself.

(A/n): And now... The true story... Begins... Enjoy...

Next chapter, I'll be revealing which two grimm you'll have in the beginning of the story.

But this one, I need help with: where should the story start?

A) you have to go pick up Ruby from the Dust shop? (IE Episode one of RWBY)

Or

B) you have to find Yang? (IE Yellow Trailer and meeting your old sisters)

You decide, and I shape the story into what the reader chooses... For now.
