The Runaway Tallest (An Invader Zim Fanfiction)
Reality. It’s what no one can comprehend. The word self isn’t a verb, adjective, metaphor, interjection. It’s a noun, and a noun is used to identify any people, places, or things. Reality isn’t a physical object, yet it can hit you in the face. Reality is the truth, it’s what actually exists. The two definitions fit incredibly well together. But what would be the opposite of reality? Unreality? Fantasy? Hypothetical? Pretend? Fake? All are correct, but one stands out to one particular little girl. Fantasy. Imagination. Fiction. The word fantasy can go both ways, and it too is a noun.
Space. Now that’s a tricky word for such a little girl to be able to come to understand, yet she knew what it meant, but in her own words. Space doesn’t necessarily mean what you see outside at night or through a telescope. Space is an area that is free, no matter where that may be. The girl was led to believe that space also starts ambitions, just like it started hers. She wanted to be free, like space. She looked up to space like it was a living thing, and she wanted to understand space. Explore space. See everything space had to offer. At a young age this girl decided to travel, but her life was decided for her, until she succeeded to achieve her ambitions. That girl, now much older and wiser, was travelling through space. The words reality and fantasy were in her life daily, and both she couldn’t comprehend. Whenever she reached a new destination , the two words would have a battle in her head, but reality almost always won. The only time fantasy won was when immediately after her large, international-orange, and pupil-less eyes would open to look up at her white, tiled ceiling.
And that is exactly what happened to her, right now. However, this time it had more of a startle since there were red lights flashing. She blinked in surprise and sat up, her light-Paris-green coloured elbows supporting her. She used her four fingers to push back her pantone-turquoise coloured covers and swung herself to the point that her bare feet touched the white tiles, four toes curling and un-curling. For red flashing lights engulfing her, she was rather calm. She stood onto her feet, stumbling a pit before regaining balance. She smiled and made her way over to her also white-tiled wall, where a black intercom was inside the wall, like a telephone. She pressed the button that read ‘Console Room’ and spoke into the device.
“Tria. Please land us.” She ordered and let go of the button. She was used to the red flashing lights. It was a proximity warning, announcing a planet ahead. The girl smiled to herself as she looked herself up and down in her mirror. She was wearing white shorts and a black spaghetti strap top. Although space outside was incredibly cold, her ship was quite heated. The girl walked over to her walk-in closet. It held clothing from each planet she visited, so there were quite a few strange attires there. She smiled happily to herself as she grabbed her favourite outfit from the racks and quickly changed into it. She stepped in front of her mirror once more, admiring her outfit. She wore a sky blue top which covered her chest and had a black collar that went around the neck, no straps over the shoulders. The top had a sort of stripe design consisting of thick stripes with only a thin black outline, and they all were the same sky blue and had a slightly bend shape. She had a sort-of black, skinny yoga/leggings that sat tight to her legs which reached to above her knee. Her stomach was exposed, no belly-button as humans had. She wore flat, black boots which reached her mid-calf. On her back was her permanent PAK, which looked like a ladybug backpack. It was black but the spots were international-Klein-blue. Her neck was very long and had a choker on, higher from the top’s collar. This chocker was the same blue as on her PAK. Her long black antennas were curled from her head. Her large light-Paris-green coloured head with oval, international-orange pupil-less eyes looked odd with her incredibly long and thin body. On her forehead was a marking. More like two combined. The first was an upside down triangle, given to the best of Invaders. The second one was a sort of lightning bolt, only seen on the foreheads of the Almighty Tallests who ruled their nation. The two marks were combined into one, a lightning bolt going into the upside down triangle from above.
She was acknowledged by her empire as one of the best ‘forced’ Invaders, but not as a Tallest.
That is one thing she hid. Near recent for her, her body suddenly stretched in over 3 months to the length of 2 metres. She was taller than the Tallests who were only about 1,80 to 1,90 metres. Ever since this happened and the ‘bolt’ embedded itself into her forehead, she completely stopped all communications to her leaders and other of her race. If she was founded out, she would no doubt be turned into one of the Almighty Tallests, who were only figureheads of the race. The real leaders were the Control Brains. Her entire race was ruled by machines, something other planets feared would happen to them. Although it was true for her race, their race was incredibly powerful. They had more than fifteen planets under their control, excluding the real home planet, Irk. Their race were called ‘Irkens’, an almighty dominating race who wanted to take over the entire universe. They failed once before, and now the second plan was launched. And this time, they were certain they could win.
She wanted to explore space before her race got to it, and with permission from both the Tallests and the Control Brains to travel, she wanted to reach them all before her own race did. Although she probably had some authority being tall, it seemed absolutely stupid to her how their race worked. Your height determines your status. It’s completely bonkers. If you wanted status, then earn it yourself. Don’t let others judge you by your height. Another thing she feared from being turned into an Almighty Tallest, is being turned into an Almighty Tallest. Her waist would then be reduced to nothing but the spine. She would have to lose two fingers. Her legs would be replaced by a sort of levitation single leg. Her arms would have to become very thin and a sort of metal gauntlet would be placed around the front of her arm and heavy armour on her back, which would make her permanently bend over forward. Her neck would become thinner and more armour would be placed around her entire body, the spine including. That’s how Almighty Tallests look. It was ridiculous! She liked to show off her inhumanly stomach, arms and legs. How would she be able to do that if it was almost reduced to nothing? Not only that, but Almighty Tallests are extremely lazy and demanding. Although she might not turn out like that, she would have to work with the other two Tallests. Tallest Red and Tallest Purple. Tallest Purple was more on the fun side while Tallest Red got more things done. Tallest Purple also happened to be her older brother. Her self-proclaimed older brother. It was against her will, but since Tallest Purple was well, a, Tallest. She wasn’t really allowed to protest. Others saw it as one of the highest honours. She saw it as one of the biggest nuisances.
“Master Cassidy.” A robotic, metallic voice came from the intercom.
“Cas.” She corrected under her breathe. She hated to be called Cassidy. It sounded…formal. Especially since she wall tall now. The girl now known as ‘Cas’ walked over to the intercom to answer.
“Yes Tria?” Tria was Cas’s SIR unit. SIR units were the main form of Irk’s technology, humanoid robot slaves. They were Standard-Issue Information Retrieval Units. SIR unit. They all looked the same. Well, sometimes there are exceptions. Normal units were silver with red eyes, shoulders, chest plates and antenna light. They also had no visible mouth and the black Irken logo on their forehead. They were complete slaves to their master, the only exception of free will is when their master is in danger. They are best in information gathering for invading, which is the main difference between normal units and Tria. Tria specializes in examining the area. More geographical. He has all the weapons normal units have, but doesn’t ever use them. To make it clear the difference between the types of units, Tria is the only one of his kind with a white body. Neon green eyes, shoulders and chest plate and antenna light. He also had more free will to do exploring.
“I have steadied the ship in Earth’s airs. Cloaking reflects the Earth’s skies. I have also gone to the liberality of scanning the humans and preparing a suitable disguise for both Master and myself.” He said, ever so formally. Cas nodded to herself, before remembering he couldn’t see her.
“Ah, right. Thanks Tria. I’ll be right there.” She said before exiting her room and roaming down the large hallways until she reached the console room. Tria was making sure the cloaking was 100% functioning. Cas made her way over to the front of the room so that she could look out of the windows. She looked down to see a normal street, with normal sized houses and normal kids running around. Her eyes scanned the scenery before coming to a stop on a large building that read ‘Skool’.
“Tria. Do a scan on that building.” Cas said, looking down the streets.
“Earth has an education system that consists of preschool, elementary school, middle school, high school, and college. That is the local elementary school. Although according to Earth’s main language, ‘Skool’ is spelled wrong.” Tria told his master. She nodded to herself, a plan already forming in her head.
“Technology level?” She questioned him.
“Three.” He answered, amusement held in his metallic voice. She nodded.
“Alright then. Show me what you got.” She said as she turned around and walked towards him. He pulled up two pictures onto the monitor. Their disguises. Tria was going to be disguised as a giraffe teddy bear, while Cas had an interesting one. It was a human girl with normal skin colour. No tan, and not pale. She wore the same black boots as she had on this very moment. She had a black jean-short on with a midnight-blue belt on. She wore an amber coloured shirt with black straps around the neck, no straps over the shoulder. Her stomach was visible, as well as a belly button. She had long black hair that reached to her mid-back in a high pony tail with an amber coloured hairband. Her black hair covered her forehead in an almost ‘M’-shape. Her eyes were wide and were a light-chocolate colour. The pupil and colour around it were more rectangular than oval, but looked natural. She had light black eyebrows that stood high above her eyes. She had a cute little nose and a mouth with not-so-noticeable lips for they were light pink and not more rosy or red. She noticed that the disguise had no ears, and figured she could just style the hair to fall over that space. Her PAK was designed to look like a regular back pack now with a zipper. It was still black with blue spots, but the shade of blue changed from international-Klein-blue to midnight-blue.
Cas suddenly got very excited to know she’ll be looking like that in merely an hour. Or earlier.
“I’m going to put it on!” Cas yelled excitedly and stepped into the machine. Smoke filled the small chamber before it disappeared and it revealed what they had just seen on the monitor. She ran out and to the window so that she could see her reflection. She admired herself while Tria copied her actions and stepped out as the giraffe. Tria turned away from the window and clapped her hands together, excitedly.
“Well then. Tria, scan the area for any open estates.” Tria obliged and got to work on. Cas waited patiently, examining the outside. Her sight was particularly focused on one house. It was light turquoise in colour with three oddly shaped windows. One above and the other two on the sides of the door. The door itself was a dark purple, and the windows had an orange light shining from them. There was a large satellite on the top of the dark purple ceiling. There were wires connected from the house to the two houses on its side. It was a rather narrow house if Cas would compare it to the others. The yard was filled with gnomes and a sign which Cas couldn’t make out from so far above. There was white steps from the door to the street. Cas stared a rather long time at the house, when she spotted a figure running towards the house. Cas could only make out that he had a black cloak on and his black hair looked like a hook of some sorts.
“Master.” Tria called and Cas turned around and made her way over to the monitor. It showed an open block, an estate, not so far from ‘Skool’ and between two other buildings, not so narrow. Cas nodded, satisfied.
“Alright. We’ll go tonight and set up a house similar to the ones around. We’ll also need to place the perception filter on, so that no one would find it suspicious about a sudden house. We can then take it off in a month, when everyone thinks that house was there for ages. Also, since it’s the main education of this planet. I will be attending this…school.” She told Tria who nodded at his master, looking quite adorable in his giraffe suite. Cas then went back to her room to waste time until that night.
Cas is on the side! Next chap human!Cas will be on the side, and then Tria.
