Lightpaw peered through the bushes, treading very carefully. He hadn't alerted Whisperstone to his presence again and now his mentor came into a clearing and sat down. Lightpaw narrowed his eyes, wandering what on earth his mentor was doing. Suddenly he heard a voice, and he saw a pale grey tabby she-cat enter and let out a meow of greeting.

It was Quailstar, the leader of BrightClan! Lightpaw swallowed back a gasp, his heart hammering loudly inside his chest.

"Quailstar, how lovely to see you again," meowed Whisperstone, his tail curling.

"And you, Whisperstone," the BrightClan leader replied, her grey eyes flashing. "I've thought more about your proposition, it certainly seems like an excellent idea."

Whisperstone gave a half-smile to the she-cat, his lips curling. "Pebblestar is weak and unfit to lead, the clans would be better off without him. As soon as I reach power, we shall combine clans. Imagine how strong we'd be when we're together!"

Quailstar's eyes lit up. "No one would dare challenge us. We would be the rulers of the forest, and we would have ultimate power."

Lightpaw couldn't believe his ears. Whisperstone was a traitor, a wicked traitor. He turned, fumbling on his paws and he ran. He ran away from it all, the lies, the deceit. He couldn't stand it. Maybe he was a coward for running away, but it was wrong. But fear was blossoming inside his chest and he was a slave to his fear. Who could he trust now, now that he knew this was going on?

His heart hammering inside his chest, he ran away from it all.

Subject #17, the White tom with the green eyes was seen to be talking to the leader of Group B, the she-cat with the tabby fur and grey eyes. Extremely suspicious. The young cream-coloured tom followed but immediately took flight after a short period of time. More research needed. Suspicious activity between cats.
