❝ TULIPS ❞

After bringing the lost child, Seonghwa and Hongjoong decided to walk at the dandelion field, planted by the Starless villagers. As Seonghwa reached the dandelions, a smile instantly appeared on his lips. He missed the field so much.

"acts like a kid, tch."

Hongjoong thought, shaking his head while watching Seonghwa run in circles. The young Kim sat and continued watching the man, you can see that he was completely enjoying.

"You love tulips that much, do you?" Hongjoong inquired, picking a piece, then throwing it, "yes I do. My mom and I used to visit this place." Seonghwa replied, constantly running around and adoring the flowers around them, "ah. Your mom must be kind." The young Kim commented, "very." The captain replied.

He only nodded at such information and asked, "where is she?", the captain faced him and replied, smiling, "she's now in a happy place."

"happy— oh my—"

Hongjoong's eyes widend, "I'm sorry. I should have not asked." He apologized, "it's okay! My mom is a kind person, I want everyone to know her." The captain responded, smiling though it was agonizing to think.

The two stayed at the field until sunset, it was a very pretty sight for both of them.

"Where's your parents?" Seonghwa questioned, looking at the guy with a curious face, "they're dead. Killed to be specific. I don't think about it a lot because I never met them." Hongjoong replied, taking aback the man beside him. "At first my siblings told me they're dead, not until I heard that someone payed a person to kill them both." He added, expressionless looking at sun setting down, "that's.. cruel.." the only response that the captain could give.

"what more if you lived in Quirix, you might've died."

The young Kim chuckled at his thought, thinking that the captain is too pure to live in a chaotic place like Quirix. Good thing that the Almighty placed the captain at Starless.

"Let's go home?" The older questioned, standing up, then offered his hand. Hongjoong giggled before placing his hand, then pulled Seonghwa, so both of them fell.

Hongjoong laughed at his own action, forgetting that the captain is hovering above him. While he was laughing, Seonghwa was just staring at him, adoring his laugh and features.

While walking back to the captain's house, the young Kim seemed uneasy. He feels someone or something are around them. He closed his eyes and shooked his head.

"Something wrong, Kim?" The captain asked, he also felt that someone is around, "nothing. Just sleepy?" He replied, smiling sheepishly due to his reasoning, but somewhat it convinced Seonghwa.

As they continued walking, Hongjoong felt more tense than ever, he could feel that someone is staring at him, he wonders if the captain feels it too.

His legs became weak, the more he walks, the more it gets weak and jelly.

"what the fuck is happening with me?"

He stopped walking, but Seonghwa didn't, he continued walking until he disappeared in the sight of Hongjoong.

"Park! Wait for me! Park!" He shouted, but his voice wasn't enough for the captain to hear him. "Park Seonghwa!" Again, he shouted, the eyes, stares were around him. He feels them all.

Then, someone pulled him from behind, Hongjoong was taken aback at such movement. As he glanced at the man, it was his uncle, Jairo.

"Why..?"

"Let me go you motherfucker!" He hissed, the young Kim tried to fight but it was no use. He was locked between his uncle's arm. There, he closed his eyes and surrendered himself.
