"We didn't get them," Kurogiri noted, "That was the only time that the Nomu failed to catch its prey. It grabbed the wrong person." Shigaraki kept on scratching his neck, completely irritated and trying to think.
The League of Villains wasn't done yet. They'd get their target, and they will prevail.
"(L/N) (Y/N)."

It was silent in the hospital room, the four of us in matching gowns and sitting on the beds that were provided.
"So," I started, drawing the attention of everyone in the room. "What's going to happen now?" They seemed uneasy with the question, not a peep uttered. Before it could get any more awkward, Manual, Gang Orca, and Gran Torino entered the room with another visitor.
"This is Chief of the Hosu Police Force; Kenji Tsuragamae." We all nodded to the dog-headed man as he spoke.
"The Hero-Killer Stain is now being treated for some serious injuries, including burns on his body, broken bones, and surgery on his lungs." I winced, whistling under my breath at how bad that must be.
"The four of you will be punished for uncertified use of quirks, without superior permission." That was blunt, but I saw a slight problem in the accusation. I raised my hand, gathering the attention of the Chief.
"Yes, (L/N)?" My voice was quieter than usual, since I didn't want to make the statement sound like I was being obnoxious.
"I'm really, really sorry about the incident, and I understand why we must be punished, but... I don't have a quirk." Everyone was silent, the head looking sort of embarrassed, shadows cast over everyone's eyes. My face was flushed as Tsuragamae flipped through a series of papers, nodding.
"It seems that your claims are right. My apologies." He turned to the three boys. "But all of you, you're in some deep waters." I couldn't bring myself to look at my classmates, bowing my head in shame, feeling like I had pushed all of them under the bus, somehow.
"But if we hadn't acted soon, then the pro hero Native would have been killed brutally, causing Stain to flee and for the case to continue on!" Shoto said, rather loudly, hints if anger laced within his voice. Gran Torino stopped Shoto's body from coming any closer to the Chief.
"Let him finish," he instructed, eyeing the hetereochromatic male. Shoto hesitantly recoiled, blood still boiling.
"This was my opinion, Todoroki Shoto, as a member of the police force, but you would have been punished if this was a public case, or an official disclosure. But since this incident didn't have enough witnesses, the case regarding the Hero-Killer Stain will remain undisclosed.
"However, as a result, all of you will not get any credit for defeating him." Shoto scoffed and glared at Tsuragamae.
"You should have just left it at that." I sighed and stood up, walking towards the Chief, taking a bow.
"Thank you for pardoning us, omawari-san." Tsuragamae nodded and looked towards us.
"All of you have a promising future awaiting. Thank you for protecting the city." The policeman left, closing the door gently on his way out.

I got out of the hospital the next day, since my injuries weren't that severe. Shoto and I were both escorted out of the building and into the lobby. On the way there we talked about about a few things.
"How is your father's agency going? I hope you're not suffering too much," I joked. "Wouldn't want you to, anyways." Shoto nodded in response, eyes like steel, looking at the ground, boots clacking on the tiles.
"It's going well, I've just learned to deal with it all. Midoriya taught me that." Shoto turned to look at me.
"How's everything going with Gang Orca? Well?" he questioned, shoving his hands in his pockets. "I suppose it's well. He's one of the nicer heroes." I sighed and scratched my wrist, feeling uncomfortable.
"Can I just say something?" I blurted out, hand squeezing into a tight ball. "I just need to let this out." Todoroki hummed in reply, allowing for words to spill out of my mouth like a waterfall.
"I feel like I threw you guys under the bus back there. Just saying something that defended me, but not you, was just insanely unreal of me. I don't the decision I made. I hate this feeling, like I'm guilty of something, and just a bad person. I know I'm quirkless, but I now don't feel like it was necessary back there-"
"No." Shoto cut me off, multicolored eyes bearing into mine. "It was needed. If the case had gotten public, you would have been punished for no reason, and it would have been more complicated, because sooner or later they would've looked at your document and found out that you had no quirk. If you told them sooner, a lot of controversy and struggle would have been avoided. If I were in your shoes, then without hesitation I would've told the Chief. You were right, (L/N)."
"Thanks, Todoroki-kun. But I'm not you. I just need to apologize for acting like a child about everything. I feel the need to cry everytime I come across a burden or complex situation. But thanks for reassuring me. At least I have you by my side." He nodded and set a hand on my shoulder.
"Yeah."

"Alright, we're going out for patrol. Teams will split up, with D and F guarding the base. Alright, get to your assigned teams and hustle! You all know where to go." I stood by Gang Orca with a few others, all of us awaiting what to do.
"Patrol time. We'll be exploring the West Ward for some criminal action. There have been reports of some theft action, but the police has gotten it under control, monitoring the shops that are there." I nodded and followed the pro hero as his cape blew behind him at the pace he was walking.
I just hoped that the rest of the internship would go more smoothly after what had happened.
