"You'll be training with Team S in the water tank, and then sparring hand to hand, and with wooden swords." I nodded as Gang Orca gestured to the five people waiting for me. I started to advance towards them, hearing another series of clicks and whistles. What was that sound? Did I only hear it, or was I just hallucinating?
I shook my head as I climbed up the ladder and dipped myself into the water, shivers jolting up my spine. I started to look at the other accomplice, going into the water as well, preparing to duel.
"Whenever you're ready." I nodded and ducked underwater, holding my breath and looking around. It was darker than the surface, and my clothes dragged. Damn, I did have a disadvantage, compared the skin-tight bodysuit the other person had, allowing them to glide underwater.
I saw the figure swimming quickly towards me. I zipped out of the way, nearly evading an attack from the other. In the water, individuals didn't really have a pattern of attack. It's water, after all. You're free to do whatever. Flip turns, backbends, and any other method to fight. But the water slows you down, and freezes your muscles because it's so cold.
But it wasn't that big of a deal, since I generated a lot of body heat and was able to move fairly quickly, despite the circumstances. The only downside was that I wasn't able to see that clearly. In my thoughts, I heard something that sounded like some sort of squeak, vibrating through the water. I internally knew what it was.
Echolocation. Of course it was, how could it not be?
I felt my breath running short, so I swam to the surface, took a short breath, then went back down, looking at the charging figure. Dodging the attack by moving to the side, I kicked their back and sent them barreling towards the bottom. Before my opponent could reach the bottom, they sprung back and shot something at my chest.
A cement gun underwater? I knew I was wrong when the small bomb exploded, sending me flying back, ink everywhere. Now I really couldn't see, and better yet, I was handicapped. My opponent didn't need to see, and they still had that clear advantage.
The air was knocked out of me with a foot to the stomach. Before they could strike another time, I held onto their leg, struggling to keep consciousness, and flung them to the side of the wall. I mustered all the strength that was left and carried both of us to the surface.
I gasped for air, my former opponent's arm slung across my shoulders as I paddled towards the deck, lifting them up onto the platform, and almost fainting when I gripped the edge, hoisting myself up, feet still dangling in the water.
"That was a good spar," I heard them say, out of breath. "You're stronger than I anticipated." I laughed and panted heavily, shaking water out of my ear.
"Good to hear. Same to you."

After sparring with a couple more people, I slumped down and rested for a bit, shaking out my tense muscles. Everyone was on break until the group would break up and go on patrol. Gang Orca and I, plus a few others would to be heading to Hosu City, where we'd meet up with a few more pro heroes and patrol around the area.
"If the Hero Killer's patterns are correct, then we all know where he'll be headed," Gang Orca explained, putting on a coat and beckoning for me to follow. "We'll take the train there and see if we can catch him."
People in the street pointed us out and stopped to take pictures, but we were in quite the hurry. By the time we'd boarded the train, it was near sunset, and would be night in Hosu city, after the 30 minute bullet train ride.
I took my seat next to Gang Orca and looked out the window at the flashing lights, blurring past as the train continued its journey to our destination.
"You did well today. Sit down and relax. Good work deserves good rest, remember?" the pro hero hummed, patting my shoulder. I smiled and nodded, leaning back and closing my eyes. Everything tuned out and the world faded into black, my mind drifting off.
__
I groggily woke up as the speaker blared the destination, time, and how many miles we traveled. My instinct was to immediately look out the window, seeing what it was like outside. I gasped and shook Gang Orca's arm, startled.
"There's a fire. Outside, we have to go." The pro hero jumped out of his seat and started to book it towards the train door. The others caught on very quickly and followed suit.
"We need to go to the source. Follow me!" All of us ran across streets, hearing and looking into the commotion. I thought I caught sight of something I never wanted to see again, but it disappeared quicker than my eye could catch. I didn't stop, knowing that it was probably a hallucination.
"Boss, there are other pro heroes here too-" Their speech was cut off by a shrill scream. I looked up, pupils dilating. A huge pair of claws were right in front of me. They grabbed ahold of both my arms, carrying me up into the sky.
I gasped and struggled to get down. I pulled out a knife from my uniform with my teeth and stabbed one of the monster's legs. It shrieked and dropped me down. I braced for impact, and landed smoothly, tumbling forwards. As I looked around, a notification was sent on my phone.
A location? From Midoriya. It didn't have an details, but it was no doubt that he was here in Hosu city. I looked at the screen. It wasn't far from here, actually. I'd better go and see what the problem was.
__
My senses perked up when I heard screaming. I broke into a sprint, getting closer and closer. My mind wandered at the possibilities. Hosu City, Midoriya, Iida, trouble. I widened my eyes. No. My speed grew faster and faster until I reached the alley. This was it. All the clues and bits and pieces of evidence that led up to this moment.
A famous so-called "villain," Stain.
