Blood bond

July 8th, 12:30.
UA's rooftop.

"Eri... the girl whose Quirk enabled her to heal bodies and restore Quirks... as well as to make them rewind to the point of disappearing. When she was finally able to restore Lemillion's there was no hero who missed the news and didn't clap. Naturally, it was never been public to protect the girl, but in a society so full of heroes it wouldn't be hard for the information to be filtrated and reach any interested ears.

Years ago, Overhaul and Shigaraki worked together when the first was using Eri to create a weapon that would put an end to the heroes' society. Shigaraki had nothing to do with the experiments on her, but he totally shared Overhaul's thought about a society that was ill because of the heroes. If he ended up knowing about the final effects of the bullets developped to destroy Quirks there is no way he wouldn't be interested.

Then I hear about an American mob that makes money of making criminals and desperate people to fight between them. Imagine any of them is so desperate for money and has a weak Quirk or no Quirk at all... and it doesn't represent a problem because the mob has deals with villains able to create artificial Quirks like they did with the Nomus... and destroy them anytime they wanted.

If it was so, maybe after the fall of the Yakuza, the League would have gone to meet *The Man* to make him this offer and deliver something that proved they were serious.

However, even for Toga, she didn't look surprised or upset when she was arrested in Mexico. And she didn't even know about the content of the briefcase. What if Shigaraki was expecting exactly what happened?"

Those were the notes Deku had taken that morning and now, as Nezu kept talking, they were echoing inside his head. He had told to himself he wouldn't think about it anymore that day, but now he was so sure to have discovered what would be found inside the briefcase, it would be easier said than done. If it was something so important to the League, what were they waiting for to retake it?

"Deku? Is everything all right?" Uraraka's concerned voice interrupted his thoughts and made him come back to Earth. At that moment they were both looking at Nezu, who was too focus on his own speech about marriage.

"Huh...? O-Oh yes, of course!" Deku nervously stuttered, with his heart racing. "Snap out of it, Izuku Midoriya, or you will miss your own wedding".

"Relax, Midoriya; soon we'll reach the part you are waiting for!" Nezu kindly said in low voice, before continuing. Ah, those young engaged ones... they always got so nervous as they got close to the "I do" part... "Now! The rings, please!"

Deku was smiling again when he saw a happy grown up Eri bringing the alliance rings to them... until his mind created a momentary different version. He visualized the unhappy and terrified little Eri he once met, with all the bandages and the sad dress she wore when the Yakuza held her prisoner, only carrying something very different: an open box that showed six red bullets whose effects he had seen before.

A ring tone not far from there put an end to his distraction again. Mrs Midoriya and the other guests next to All Might looked in the UA's teacher's direction. "Sorry!" All Might smiled in embarrassment and picked it up. "Naomasa! I can't talk right now!" he quietly told his detective friend. He was about to hang, but detective Tsukauchi's last sentence was enough to make All Might eyes open like plates and say: "What!?"

At the same time, Todoroki received a text message from his father saying that duty was calling. Endeavor's agency had reported a prison escape and heroes would be required to catch the fugitives. That would be a good surprise training for him, he read. The high flaming hero was already on his feet and looking at him with his forever stern expression from the distance. He waved his head towards the exit, demanding his son to come with him, but Todoroki didn't forget to whom this day belonged, the people he was sharing it with or the person he had come with, so he frowned and shook his head. There were other heroes in service. "And no offense, Dad, but unlike you, I am actually going to be missed here..." Todoroki thought in anger. Since he became Hero Number One after All Might's retirement Endeavor had reduced his contact with the rest of the family, aware of the harm he made to all of them in the past. Their relationship was not as tense as it used to be, and he would often talk with his mother and siblings and show them some care, so Todoroki had accepted to work in his agency again, but he had never truly forgiven his father. He owed Deku that was the first time in years they could all meet in the same place and forget they were a broken family for one day, but the old man was setting hero work above them once again. He wasn't even surprised... but when he took a look at his phone and checked there was indeed criminal movement very close to the UA, Todoroki resolved to stay on guard.

Next to him, Iida also was agitated: the villain alert dispositive installed in his watch, courtesy of Mei Hatsume, was vibrating. Of course, his date was euphoric to check this new invention of hers was working well, apparently not caring too much about how bad of a signal that was.

"Oh no..." cried Iida, carrying his hands to his head. "Why wouldn't I leave it at home?" Now the Pro Hero and wedding's best man he was were struggling for dominance inside his head.

"Isn't it great, Tenya?" Hatsume was so happy she definitely seemed to live in another planet. "Look! You can even know how close the menace is!" she touched the little screen to show him. When Iida checked in the map the location of the alert's origin, he held his breath. Was the dispositive's accuracy still to be perfectioned... or there was a menace really close to them?

"Denki! DENKI!"

"Huh? What's wrong, Kyoka?" asked Kaminari, pausing his iPod's twentieth song and removing his earphones. "Aren't they married yet?"

"Wake up, you dummy! Villains have been detected!" Jirou showed him the signal that could be seen on the screen of her phone before proceeding to use her Quirk to detect how close and big the danger would be.

"People, please!" Nezu lifted his paws from the pedestal and tried to calm everyone down. "Be respectful and put your electronic devices down! This will only take...!" he was interrupted by the buzz of his own phone. "Excuse me..." the anthropomorphic animal told the each time more confused couple before turning to answer the call in low voice. "I told you I would be busy today! This better be important!"

It was. Nezu's Secretary informed him about the triple prison escape and the current irregular activity that was taking place in the surroundings of the UA. A group of Nomus had appeared from out of nowhere. As the Principal he once was his first instinct was to think about the safety of the students... but then he remembered there were no current students at the UA at that moment anymore. They were in a place where more than half of the people were Pro Heroes, and one of them was even the Number One.

"Mr Mayor? What is going on?" Uraraka asked in desperation.

"Present Mic has reported some Nomus near the entrance causing trouble" the current UA's Principal appeared behind them with a calmed yet serious expression. "Kamui Woods, Death Arms, Mt Lady, Gunhead, Ms Joke and Endeavor had already been called to action. I'm going too" Aizawa said as he removed his glasses, released his tailed hair and revealed his Eraserhead's costume underneath his suit. "I am the Principal and I won't allow anyone get hurt while I'm around".

"Sometimes I wonder if you ever take that costume off..." Ms Joke kidded despite the situation.

"There are just a few and we know how to face them" Principal Aizawa decided to ignore her this time.

"Principal! If you need help..." Iida was already on his feet.

"No, Iida" Aizawa contained his smirk. "You are the Class 1A Representative, remember? You stay and make sure nobody panics and Midoriya or Bakugou do nothing stupid that ruins the wedding. Don't worry and just continue without us. This shouldn't take long." he added before leaving with the rest of the heroes.

"Ahh, terrible timing. I'm going to miss the best part..." Mt Lady complained as she stretched her limbs.

"Forget about that, this is far more important" Woods reprimanded her.

"Shoto!"

Todoroki instinctively turned to his father. Endeavor had come closer and was staring at his youngest son, making Momo and the rest of the Todoroki's look in that direction. Shoto Todoroki  returned the stare without backing down.

"Stay here with your mother and siblings. I'll be back soon" Endeavor finally said, running to catch the rest. His son was glad they didn't have to argue, but he wasn't touched at all.

After receiving the news of the three fugitives and the fact that the mysterious briefcase was still in the hands of the police, All Might had started to compulsively read the research until he reached the last of the notes, a small piece of paper where Deku had written his final guess about its content:

A SAMPLE OF BLOOD?

All Might was aware of the use Eri's blood was given during her childhood in the hands of the Yakuza and the role the DNA played in the functioning and transmission of Quirks, not only in the case of One For All. But Deku had saved the child and defeated Overhaul when he was still learning to control his power, and the experiments on the little Eri belonged in the past. If it was something as valuable as a sample of Eri's blood (or who knew, maybe a bunch of those diabolical bullets) and now the heroes had their attention focused on that confiscated product, it didn't make any sense they just left it behind without a care. What would they be up to?

"Ladies, gentlemen, please get back to your seats and stay calmed! There is no need to be afraid!" Nezu called. "Endeavor, Eraserhead and the others should handle the situation easily and will be back in time. We can continue without a problem. Now where was I...?

"Mayor Nezu..." Deku finally spoke. He had turned a shade of pale, didn't looked calmed at all and he hadn't removed his eyes from Eri, who had also noticed Deku's eye of fright and was getting worried. "I think I know why they are here..."

"What do you mean, Midoriya?" Nezu asked in surprise.

"These last weeks I have investigated the movements of the League of Villains and... well, recently I reached the conclusion they could be..." he was sweating profusely, knowing that Uraraka would be listening in disbelief.

Then All Might realized the reason for Deku's expression. He felt like his heart had stopped and left the folder fall into the ground. "Sir... I have just read his research... and I think he is right about it..." he stated, standing up between Mrs Midoriya and David.

"Like teacher, like pupil"  Inko covered her eyes in resignation.

"Can somebody explain what's going on here?" cried Eri, who was still holding the rings.

"Get back to your seat by now, little woman" Bakugou growled, joining the talk, as Todoroki took gently Eri's shoulders and walked her back to it. "Deku has some explaining to do" he thought. "If he survives to the Round Face's scolding..."

"Izuku..." Uraraka narrowed her eyes, making Deku gulp. They were few occasions, but when she called him by his first name it was the sign that a serious argument was on the way. And Deku, for good or bad, had never been able to lie to another person's face. Specially Uraraka. "Don't tell me you have been thinking about work the day we get married..."

"It's not what you think!" Deku cried putting his arms on her consternated bride's shoulders. "I just checked it one more time this morning and now we have reasons to believe the prison escape, the Nomus' appearance and Himiko Toga's briefcase are connected! Now there is no time to explain, but I think they are here for Eri!"

"What?" Uraraka's expression turned into one of true fear.

He couldn't end the sentence due to the deafening sound of the helicopters that were coming closer. They weren't surprise to see the red and blue one that belonged to the press and would be covering the news, but the others were bigger, black colored and equipped with guns. Even worse, flying Nomus could be seen following them and others could be seen looking out their big doors.

"Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen!" a black and white masked and magician-like dressed theatrically announced from the helicopter stolen from the press, with the help of a megaphone. "I hope you don't mind we just came to liven up this wedding a little!"

Hatsume run to the edge of the rooftop and used her Zoom Quirk to take a look at the unexpected visitors and the situation at the entrance.

"What do you see, Mei?" asked Iida.

"Guys..." Mei Hatsume was finally talking in a serious tone, which couldn't be good. "I think we are in trouble..."

Before anyone could ask her for details, dark purple portals started to appear everywhere, from which more of those nightmarish monsters went out. One of them appeared up there in the rooftop, right next to Hatsume, who looked at the gigantic creature with more scientific curiosity  than fear. When the Nomu extended his monstrous claws towards her, Iida's Engine Quirk allowed him to reach him on time and use his signature propelled kick to move the beast aside from the pink haired mechanic. The Nomu stumbled upon the railing, but he managed to hold on to it and climbed back... just so Gran Torino could use his Turbo Quirk and the Nomu's head received the short old man's impact, falling all the way from the UA's rooftop to the ground.

"WHAT ARE ALL OF YOU LOOKING AT?" Gran Torino told the remaining people, including Deku and Uraraka, who were still trying to assimilate the situation. "THE UA IS UNDER ATTACK! AND YOU ARE HEROES NOW, REMEMBER?"

"Civilians are the priority! Make sure they are safe!" Iida stated in a loud voice. He wasn't playing the best man anymore.

Meanwhile, Bakugou just looked at the chaos that was taking place down there, especially at the entrance, where Endeavor and the rest would be facing an army of those things and most likely smarter and more skillful villains. Like a free buffet.

"Finally..." his ruthless fighter's grin had returned to his face. The Explosion User almost licked his lips at the thought of the battle he was going to be in. "A chance to blow away things and idiots like there's no tomorrow. The answer to my prayers..."
