Nevermore
July 18th, 3:00.
Centre of Tokyo.
"That costume doesn't change a thing. None of you is him. Specially you..."
All the path he had walked since he was Class 1A Representative had brought him before that legendary villain. That was why he had removed his green helmet. It was a mostly relevant piece of his costume, but he must remind Stain who was his opponent for that night.
His mind reconstructed the events slowly but effectively: how he had challenged him in the middle of that clash of green costumes and red scarfs, how he had taken him out of where he could harm the others, the strategy he had followed, the field he had driven him to...
Then... heh, then, like in that old rock song, they went off the rails on a crazy train.
No passengers aboard. Mayor Nezu had previously taken good care of that before taking remote control of the vehicle on his own paws. It wasn't harder to handle than a demolition ball and the Hero Killer wouldn't be able to escape in a train that run across the city.
Of course, that wouldn't make it an easy fight. The key was avoiding body to body combat, but luckily, fighting at high speed was Iida's element and he had the driver on his side, which had saved him on that one ocassion Stain actually managed to paralize him...
"Ingenium...? Ingenium...? Iida!"
Iida's senses got back to work as good as they could on his beaten state when he heard the voice calling his name by the stretcher's side.
"Principal Aizawa... Mr Mayor..." Iida mumbled. "Stain... is...?"
"Don't think about it now" Aizawa responded. "You must rest. Your friends will soon see you."
"Please, sir, I must know... how did it end..." Iida begged.
Nezu sighed.
"You tell me, my boy" the Mayor said, as he gently raised one of Iida's hardly sensitive hands.
Iida checked his hand, which happened to be holding something. Nothing less than the handle of the sword he had broken in half with a superkick during the climax of their fight. The sword he had seen and felt on his own flesh for the first time at age fifteen.
"Stain... is he...?"
"He is, Iida" Nezu proudly answered. "You took him away when the train derailed. The civilians are safe, the villain is caught, the followers are contained, and the heroes are alive to fight another day. Tonight you have honored your family's name like never before."
"What about... the others...?"
"Not now, young man. Like I said, it is time for you to rest" Aizawa patiently insisted. "All I can tell you is that you all carried out the plan to perfection. People have already made official the name of their new Symbol of Peace."
Iida breathed in relief and happiness. Deku wasn't very confortable when he exposed the plan to him, but everybody knew the truth about him, what he was meant to be, and what he already was. That was a time of need, and people needed to know that despite being on a mission where things were worst, what Deku represented would stay with them. Deku was there and would always be.
Not that the others deserved less credit though. He was told that citizens had been ecstatic to see favorite heroes like Froppy, Suneater, Earphone Jack or Sugar Rush protecting their homes under the same flag.
Iida was wondering if Itsuka's group would have been succesful too when another stretcher approached, with another hero lying on it. He was full conscious, all covered in bandages and plaster... except for the place everyone wished Neito Monoma would be permanently covered in bandages and plaster:
"AHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! How you liked that, Class A??" he laughed like crazy. "We stopped the old Liberation Army! I fought ReDestro himself!"
So Monoma had come toe to toe with ReDestro by copying his Quirk. One had to admit that would have been something amazing to see.
"My students! They are one of a kind heroes!" of course, Vlad King had to be near happily crying and making biased comments, as he followed the stretcher.
"And we didn't need to wear Deku's colours muahahaha!!!!"
"Would you just shut up, Neito?" Itsuka reprimanded. Unfortunately there wasn't much left where she could hit him. "You are lucky you didn't fight alone. You overused Copy and ended up breaking half of your bones!"
"Speaking of emulating Midoriya..." Aizawa simply said.
Vlad King just grunted and accompanied Monoma to his own ambulance. The place next to the empty train crashing had been full of sanitary staff and volunteers that included UA current students, like Iida could check before the ambulance's door were closed:
"I told you tonight is dangerous! You should be at home!"
"Volunteers were needed to assist injured heroes. And you know how useful my Quirk can be here!" Katsuma replied his angry older sister.
"You could get injured, Katsuma! Dad won't be happy about this!"
"Dad would do the same! You know that!" Katsuma stood. Mahoro had always taken care and protected him, but he had been the shy little brother for long enough. "And he knows this autumn I will take the entrance exam for UA. I am not a little boy anymore, Mahoro."
"Oh, so you are joining UA?" one of the heroes Katsuma had helped that night asked. "Well, I guess thousands of kids will want too, after what they saw tonight."
"Ahem! Would you excuse us? I am talking to my brother" Mahoro frowned at Camie.
"Aww it is you! Little Mahoro: Katsuki's biggest fan" Camie widely smiled as she unexpectedly pinched the girl's cheeks at her astonished look. "My, you are so grown! And so cute, always caring for your younger sibling..."
"Hey! Cut it out!" Mahoro complained as she tried to release her face. She was always blushed when she was reminded of her admiration for Bakugou. Also, she knew who that voluptuous woman with a similar Quirk to hers was to Bakugou.
"This boy has done a great job with his Quirk tonight. And you have a cool one too! Katsuki told me about your holograms and how you used to protect Katsuma with them" Camie kept smiling and talking on her dreamy tone. "I hope I will have such nice children of my own some day!"
"Okay... okay! Just leave my cheeks alone, please...!" Mahoro cried in defeat.
Iida relaxed on the stretcher that would take him to the hospital. His duty as a hero had been fulfilled that night. Now there was another duty he must fulfil those days.

July 18th, 5:45.
The Man's Island.
All Might had hoped they would leave the island all together, but civilians came first. That meant Eri, Kota, David and Melissa would abandon the place in his jet, which he would pilot along with his old friend.
The heroes had made sure they took off without a problem. But they should have expected the villains of the The Man's island would try something else.
"Hang on everyone!" David cried. The jet described a new violent circle and another missil came really close to hit them in mid air.
"What is that?" All Might put his eyes on a bunch of dots the radar located approaching to them from behind.
"Oh, no..." David was shocked in terror. "Tell me those aren't equipped with..."
"...that dispositive we developped" Melissa was equally terrified.
The purpose of that invention was that, once a projectile was shot with aim and precision, this dispositive installed on it would lead other projectiles to the same spot.
And at that moment, the jet was the spot.
"Wait..." David noticed. "They are deviating? What's going on here?"
"Look at this" Melissa showed them a brief shot of the jet's camera: the main missile had missed them and now it was erratically getting further. The shock only got bigger when they all caught sight of the purple-yellow blurr that was on top of it.
The camera would provide them with a memorable picture of Grape Juice.
"AAAAAAAaaaaaaaaAAAAaaaargh!!!"
Mineta thought he had found the best place to hide from thugs, but when the lights were on inside that "tunnel", he knew that was a big mistake. His Quirk had allowed him to stick to the missile but now he was desperate to find a way to stop it before it impacted. Luckily, on his struggle he had damaged the dispositive and now the missiles followed the malfunctioning leader.
In the middle of his yelling and crying he realized they would soon reach the beach of the island he saw before.
Oh, no, he wouldn't have that. That beach where hot women from all corners of the world gave bikinis and swimsuits a great name wouldn't be erased from existance on Grape Juice's watch.
It happened that he could partially ride and direct the main missile, and therefore, the rest. All he needed was to take them to a safe place to explode. Without him, if that wasn't too much to ask.
He shook the missile as hard as he could. There might be a possibility.
Yes, that could be the moment for the pervert to rise and shine.
Time: ??
Place: ??
Physical or not, that was the man Deku was trained to defeat. And now he was looking into the hateful face whose mask he had just destroyed with his last attack.
"It is time for you to give up" he panted as he held AFO.
"Is it?" AFO replied.
Faster than lighting, AFO smashed his hand against Deku's face before he could dodge. The villain wasn't as beaten as he thought and the rewinding girl wasn't there to protect One For All.
At last, his old power would return to his old master, only a hundred years more powerful...
But for the first time ever, AFO was surprised and shocked to see his infamous power to steal Quirks wasn't working properly.
"It is fascinating... having so many Quirks you... I would have some difficulty to notice when one is taken from me too..." Shigaraki had appeared from behind and used his own One For All.
For a second he had felt All For One and One for All running through his veins for the first time, but as soon as they arrived, one had already passed to Shigaraki. Now he must struggle with his pupil like never before if he wanted his main Quirk to stay.
In the middle of that struggle, where lighting of all colours travelled between the three men, Shigaraki stared at Deku for less than a second, enough to remember at that moment he was as Quirkless as the day he was born. As much as he would curse his luck for doing that, that was his way out of the hell he had endured, and his nemesis would be the last key he would need. Only that time.
"No...! You won't...! You can't...!!!"
He extended his hand so his four fingers touched Deku's. Deku released himself from AFO's grip as he sensed One For All back in his body.
The rest of AFO could only be concentrated in desperately gripping Shigaraki instead and the faceless villain only had time to see a bright green blurr. It was flying towards him as he delivered one last blow in the form of United States of Smash.
A moment of silence was made at the sight of the astral tall figure who lied there. He floated and reincorporated, and his mouth became a chimera of disbelief, wrath, hatred, and other negative feelings.
Many Quirks still remained on him, but no new ones would ever joined them. All For One... no more.
"Tomura... you don't know what you just did..."
"You taught me well, sensei" Shigaraki stated. "But you can't have my body and life. You prepared me to be your successor and now I will finally be... as the one and only All For One user. Don't worry: I will kill Izuku Midoriya and I will fulfil your vision... and you might be able to see it."
"I know you will put up a fight with all the power you still have. But I will find you and arrest you for good" Deku solemnly promised. "And then, from behind bars, you will see how wrong you were and how heroes can give people the world they deserve."
"Izuku Midoriya..." AFO would have fulminated him with his eyes if he had them. "All Might's successor... the soon to be married Number One..."
Despite his defeat, AFO managed to send some chills through Deku's spine with his emphasis on the word "married".
"If you think this will be a happy ending for you and your loved ones... or an ending at all..." AFO firmly declared before he faded away from the void. "...then you have learnt nothing."
After that, Japan's most feared villain left the void, and all who remained were the top hero and top villain of a new era.
Before any word was exchanged, Shigaraki contemplated for a while the green hero mask he had just picked up from the ground. Then his hand held it tighter and in a second the Deku mask was disintegrated.
Deku looked at the tiny remains of his mask and checked the rest of his prototype costume, now torn to pieces.
"This was a wedding gift, you know..."
Shigaraki let out a quiet and not without pain laugh.
"With everything that has happened here... everything that is still to happen... and you keep thinking people should give a care about your bloody wedding..." even villains needed to bitterly laugh at how hopeless their nemesis could get. "Congratulations: you officially make me sick more than All Might ever did."
"I've waited a lifetime to hear you say that" Deku didn't expect to see the fun on it.
Right there, in that place with no real public or interruptions, they had unleashed their respective powers to extents never explored before. They were close to exhaustion, but someone had to get the final blow.
"You can still surrender, Tenko. You know I will never stop trying to help you."
"You are the one who should have surrended, Midoriya" Shigaraki hissed. "You still fail to understand I am not the one who needs to be helped or saved anymore."
"What about your friends?" Deku inquired. "I know they are more than mere henchmen for you."
"Yes, they are" Shigaraki said. "And as their leader I won't let them down like your society did. And I won't fail, like you did with Toga. Once you are out of the picture, I will build a new future for them."
"They will get killed or worse because of it!"
"That's the way heroes and villains choose to live. But I am so moved: you didn't show that concern after Muscular's demise, did you?" Shigaraki bitterly asked.
Deku hadn't forgotten. So Shigaraki had seen that memory of him inside the vortex.
"I tried to save him too. I wasn't happy with the result."
"And what about your little superfan?"
"Leave Kota alone" Deku angrily replied. "He suffered a lot because of Muscular's cruelty, and yet he is bigger than all that."
Shigaraki shrugged in indifference.
"I never liked the big guy too much though."
Shigaraki would love to keep talking but time kept running. He just hoped his friends could have made it.
"It is time."
"Yes."
All or nothing.
The tension and red-green glare exchange would last one minute. No words were spoken, since everything was said, and almost everything was done.
Like two sword wielding samurais under a cherry tree, they used their last remaining strength to run to their opponent.
Deku stopped with his knees flexed and fist extended some feet away. He let his breath out. One For All was still pumping inside him and Shigaraki had landed on his back for the last time that day.

July 18th, 6:15.
The Man's island.
The sun was finally rising after that tough and epic night.
The next hours in that lost piece of land in Hawaii were far less violent, but equally busy.
Ben Jacobs, a.k.a Blazor, a.k.a The Man, was finally arrested and delivered to the US authorities, along with his wrestlers.
Most of the League managed to escape again... but among the arrested ones, Dr Garaki (luckily Shinsho remembered he was still on the beach counting its grains of sand and came to release him from Brainwashing) and, at last, Tomura Shigaraki. He would be transported to the Tartarus with the help of a portable cell created specially for a being like him.
The jetplane where All Might, Mirio, Kota, Eri, Melissa and David was safe thanks (unexpectedly) to Mineta's intervention. He was in a catatonic state after he was rescued from the sea, where he had jumped into with the help of an improvised purple parachute. The guy had given his best shot so the missiles impacted in a safe and empty part of the archipielago. One could wonder if was concerned about the jetplane or that beach full of swimsuited women that were also in danger because of the missiles, but... well, details. He would be euphoric to know he had forever become a hero that every woman who stepped on that beach would know and venerate.
Kirishima, Mina, Ojiro and the rest finally reunited and soon would welcome Deku, Bakugou and Todoroki, who was particularly injured and walked with the help of the former two.
Todoroki was sad he wouldn't return home with his big brother as he planned, but he was also happy to know he was protected by him. And he knew something had changed in Touya when he discovered the news about his younger brother. Speaking of which... he still had to assimilate himself.
"Damn you, Icy Hot. A traditional family, three elder siblings, a father like Endeavor... and nobody gave you some speech about this?"
"I'm really happy for you, Todoroki. I'm sure Yaoyorozu and you are ready for parentood."
Exactly the words he would expect from his two so different friends. Now he couldn't wait to see Momo again.
When they reached the meeting point, All Might and Mirio were the first Deku met. He was relieved when they told him Uraraka and the rest were fine and recovering from injuries.
"Where is Eri?"
Mirio sighed and told him what happened on the ship: Eri's grandfather, her last living relative was killed to incriminate Hawks. She wasn't close to the Yakuza leader like she was to UA's heroes, but that man was still her grandfather. And a girl as good as Eri couldn't help but feel bad.
"Kota is with her" All Might said. "He cares a lot about her and knows quite about missing family. He is a great boy and the friend she needs now."
Deku couldn't ignore his disobedience, but he was so glad Kota was there. In the end, he fulfilled his promise of taking care of Eri. He would go to hug and confort her when she was ready.
First, Deku run to check Uraraka. She was resting on a stretcher inside one of the tents the US army had risen there. Like happened years ago with Bakugou, One For All wasn't there anymore and Uraraka wouldn't remember anything previous to the brief time she had combined her Quirk with it. Luckily Eri had been there before and had repaired her broken bones, and now Deku was holding her hand and smiling tenderly at her.
Uraraka couldn't be happier for the way everything had been solved in the end. There was only one thing left to do for them. Unfortunately, a second attempt at planning a wedding would be anything but easy.
"Well... now we know everything is cool at home and he have been succesful here... we may try again. Maybe we are able before the summer is over."
"About that... I talked to Iida and made a couple of calls..." Deku told her. Uraraka looked at him with curious eyes.
"Huh? What do you mean?"
"I might have thought of something..."
End of chapter 48.
We are so close... so close...
I don't know how many will keep reading this, considering how abandoned Wattpad is today. But I promised an end to this story, and I am going to keep it. No matter Watties aren't here to see.
To everyone who still wants to see the end of Wedding Bells today... I say you thanks. For real.
