destiny? what is that?

Last class, Biology. Huening Kai was silently listening to their teacher, Mr. Yoon.

"For this topic, we will do an activity by pair." Mr. Yoon announced which silenced the whole room. "Can we choos—" before a student could finish, Mr. Yoon interjected, "no. I will be the one choosing your partner."

The students groaned, some boo-ed Mr. Yoon, some just nodded as a response. Huening Kai stayed silent and still.

"Please don't let me be partnered with an asshole, please, please."

He thought, a visible disgust and fear in his face. Huening Kai covered his face with his hands and hears all his classmates complains.

"Alright, let's start partnering. Let me just get the student sheet." Mr. Yoon informed, walking close to his desk. He picked up a paper and started scanning it.

"Let's see.. Yeosang and Jongho. Where's Kang Yeosang and Choi Jongho?" He asked, looking up from the paper. Yeosang slowly raised his hand, so was Jongho.

"Alright, next Heesung and Karina..? Where are they?" The teacher asked, scanning the students. Heesung and Karina raised their hands in unison. Mr. Yoon nodded and continued on matching them randomly.

"Lastly, Taehyun and Huening Kai." Mr. Yoon declares, placing the student sheet on the table. Taehyun smiled at such thought, while Huening Kai was relieved knowing he wasn't paired into an asshole.

Mr. Yoon went to his desk and sat. "You may all leave and talk to you partner." He informed, fixing his glasses. As soon as they all left, Mr. Choi entered the room.

Taehyun swiftly approached Huening Kai who was lost and confused for finding him.

"Hey! I'm here!" Taehyun suddenly spoke, making the other flinch. Huening Kai smiled quickly at him, then face suddenly turned red.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to surprise you." Taehyun apologized which made Huening Kai giggle. "Silly, it's okay. Where do you wanna talk about the activity?" Huening Kai inquired, hugging the thick books he was holding.

"His giggle, so pretty. Pretty."

Taehyun thought until he realized he was staring at him for too long.

"Is something wrong with my appearance? Is there something in my face?"

Huening Kai suddenly touched his face, feeling if there's something in it.

"Ah, ah, there's nothing wrong with your face. You are just very pretty." Taehyun rambled, making Huening Kai's heart flutter. The younger covered his face with the book he is holding.

"Th-thank-k y-you!" Huening Kai replied shyly, book still covering his face. The older chuckled, which made Huening Kai shy even more.

"We-we ca-n go to m-my place.." the younger suggested, earning a nod from the elder. "Off to Kai's house we go!" Taehyun beamed. Unknowingly, Huening Kai's lip turned upwards as he saw how enthusiastic Taehyun is.

As they were walking down the school halls, Huening Kai halted his steps making the other confused.

"Wait a minute! I'll tell Yeonjun-hyung and Beomgyu-hyung that I'll leave first. Please wait for me." Huening Kai rambled, running back to the room they passed.

"Cute." Taehyun thought, pulling his smartphone from his pocket.

Taehyun turned off his phone, then kept his phone on his pocket. He waited for seven minutes until he saw the younger, running like an athlete.

"Sorry for keeping you wait. Yeonjun-hyung said it's fine!" Huening Kai informed him, heavily breathing due to running. Taehyun nodded in acknowledgement.

"Give me your books, I'll carry them for you." Taehyun offered, his hands offering as well. Huening Kai hesitated, too shy to give him the books since he made him wait, but soon gave him.

"No need to be shy! I don't mind at all." Taehyun told him, smiling brightly.

There, Huening Kai caught himself smiling again.

The path they took was a short cut so they could reach the Choi's residence earlier than expected.

As Taehyun landed his eyes on the Choi's home, his jaw dropped.

"Th-this is your house..?" He questioned, earning an innocent nod from Huening Kai.

"Ah, my family background isn't showed in my form."

The younger thought, shooking his head.

"Let's go inside. No one's home yet." Huening Kai spoke, opening their home's gate.

Entering the house, Taehyun's eyes wandered at the insides. All the materials seems expensive and exported.

There's a large chandelier hanging above the large living room and there are two stairs leading to each room of the family members.

"My mom and dad has separate rooms..." Huening Kai shared, trailing off as he realized what could he said after. Taehyun looked at him and smiled.

"Let's go then," Taehyun smiled, ignoring the trailing off the other.

"If I set my face curiously knowing about his family, he'll be scared of me."

Taehyun thought. He doesn't really care about Huening Kai's family, he only cares for the person who is with now.

The two of them went upstairs and entered the room with a silver door. As they entered, the room wasn't messy, but instead they are clean.

"My room hasn't any design since I'm not a fan." Huening Kai shared once again, putting down his bag pack beside the window. Taehyun also placed his bag pack beside Huening Kai's and the books at Huening Kai's study table.

The two of them sat at the middle of the room, then Taehyun pulled Biology book.

"So we are assigned about the part of cells, right?" Taehyun questioned, earning a slight nod from Huening Kai.

While Taehyun was silently reading the book, he was glancing at the younger. He noticed that the other is spacing out. "Are you okay, Kai?" He asked, putting down the book.

"I don't know.. I wanna cry..." Huening Kai honestly replied, his eyes getting teary.

"Something's bothering you?" Taehyun asked softly, shifting closer to Huening Kai who is in verge of crying.

"My parents.. my parents.. they are coming home.." the younger replied, tears falling down his cheeks.

"Is it okay if I hug you?" Taehyun questioned, trying to be gentle as possible. Huening Kai nodded, then Taehyun hugged him.

"You can cry until all those worries and pain goes away." Taehyun gently spoke, hugging the other tightly.

Huening Kai cried harder as he heard those words, he has been keeping his feelings ever since. He hugged back and cried his heart out.

Minutes passed, the younger found himself sleeping at the other's lap.

"Mm, sorry.." Huening Kai apologized, feeling groggy. Taehyun just nodded and smiled at him.

"....why do I feel fondness from you?"

Huening Kai thought, his eyes falling down again.

"He can still have time. It's just 4:45pm."

Taehyun smiled, looking at the younger who was sleeping again in his lap.
