who are you?

It was Monday, 4:26am when Huening Kai woke up. As usual, he always lack sleep.

Yesterday, as he woke up from Taehyun's arms, his face immediately turned red. This is his first time falling asleep quick, and in someone's arms.

"Oh no.. is this true.. is this— is this.."

His thoughts were cut off when Taehyun woke up beside him.

He left the bathroom and went downstairs, went to prepare his breakfast. After doing all his morning tasks, he grabbed his bag and rode his bike to the school.

"Nice weather.." Huening Kai under his breath, looking up the sky briefly. It was cloudy and was kinda dim, which he likes.

After pedaling some more, he arrived at the university's gate. It was exactly 6:05am when he arrived, Yeonjun and Beomgyu waiting for him.

"You really didn't come home!?" Beomgyu exclaimed worrily, gripping Huening Kai's both shoulder. The other flinched at the sudden action which alarmed Yeonjun.

"Beomgyu, stop it." Yeonjun stated, removing Beomgyu's hands away from Huening Kai. The youngest frowned, it was evident to Yeonjun and Beomgyu's face that they were worried.

"... I'm sorry.. hyungs.." the youngest apologized, lowering his head. Yeonjun nodded and Beomgyu sighed, well they couldn't do anything now, do they?

"Just come home later, okay? Mom is going on a business trip for a week, while dad is going out of town for business." Yeonjun informed, looking slightly worried. Huening Kai nodded, he bowed once again then left his hyungs.

Though his parents are both cheating and acknowledged it to each other, they still work hard for the three of them, at least?

"I don't know if it's a business trip or their just finding a way to find someone to hook with."

Huening Kai thought, gripping tightly to his backpack. He sees his foster parents as his aunt and uncle, not his mother and father.

While walking pass the hallway, he could hear some of the students' muttering.

"Winter is coming! Snow, snow!"
"You already have someone to spend your Christmas night?"
"Yeah.."
"Lucky you!"

All Huening Kai could hear are just groans, complains and exaggerated moans from the students. He doesn't understand, why do they have to spend it with someone special to them?

"This romantic students..."

The young man sighed, walking towards his classroom. As he entered, there he sighted Taehyun laughing with a classmate, Wooyoung.

"... who is he?"

He asked himself, his hands getting hot as he clenched to hard. Huening Kai gulped, him sweating. Suddenly, he feels something weird.

"Am I.. jealous? That's impossible, friends couldn't be jealous... but.. are we friends?"

His mind was suddenly fogged with thoughts, are they friends? Or just mere group mates? His hands started shaking, now he's scared.

"Ningning!" Taehyun called him, walking closer to him. Huening Kai interwoven his hands with each other for the other not to notice.

"H-hi.. T-ty-tyun.." Huening Kai stammered, his hands started shaking vigorously. The elder had noticed this immediately which worried him.

"Calm down Ning, breath in, breath out." Taehyun instructed which the other obliged quickly, his hands didn't stopped shaking.

Thankfully, it was just Wooyoung who is in the room with them and he fell asleep.

Taehyun gently grabbed the other's hands and enveloped it with his.

"I'm here, I'm here." Taehyun softly said, his features getting soft in the eyes of Huening Kai.

His hands started to stop shaking, him feeling light. All of his negative thoughts washed away as the sight of Taehyun in front of him.

"There.. all good?" Taehyun questions, still not letting go of Huening Kai's hands. The other slightly nod and gave him a smile as a token of appreciation.

"I just wanna ask.. are-are we.. f-friends..?" Huening Kai asked with all his confidence, he wanted to know so he could avoid all those misconceptions.

Taehyun gave him a smile, a bright one.

"Of course we are!" He responded, giggling their hands still connected.

This made Huening Kai's heart happy, he has a friend now.

"Good morning class, I hope that you finished your activity that I've given?" Teacher Yoon asked, his voice was stern and loud. The room fell silence as teacher Yoon asked, everyone was glued on their sits.

Mr. Yoon waited for a volunteer, he knew that the students had finished the activity, but was too scared at him.

"Mr. Yoon! I volunteer!" A student beamed, drawing Mr. Yoon's attention.

As expected, it's Kang Taehyun. He would always answer in recitations, will voluntarily present and more.

"For now sir, I'll be the one explaining. My partner had already helped a lot, so the I decided to take it for us!" Taehyun explained, which Mr. Yoon agreed. The teacher knew what kind of person is Huening Kai, Mr. Yoon was glad that Taehyun considered him.

The elder walked in front. He opened a large paper then taped it in their board.

"Good morning! Today I'll be presenting mine and Huening Kai's work. Please do look at here." Taehyun spoke, he wanted to credit the other because of his hard work but he knew Huening Kai doesn't like to be the center of attention.

"Whew.. that was fast.."

Huening Kai sighed relieved as the students didn't bothered looking at him.

After presenting, the students were left amused as how Taehyun presented the work, they are also amused by the details that Huening Kai placed. In conclusion, their team work was amazing.

"Good job! Since you and Huening Kai was the first one to present, I'll give you a plus points." Mr. Yoon stated, earning a shock sounds from the students.

After the whole presentation, Taehyun and Huening Kai went on the cafeteria together. The younger was quite confused as Taehyun walked with him.

"Erm.. aren't you supposed to be with Yeosang-hyung.. and.. Soobin-hyung..?" Huening Kai trailed off, Taehyun glanced at him and giggled.

"Don't worry, Yeosang-hyung is with Jongho and Wooyoung today while Soobin-hyung is with your hyung, Yeonjun and Beomgyu." Taehyun informed, earning a slight nod from Huening Kai.

The two walked until they've reached the cafeteria, there were a lot of people so it'll be hard for the younger.

Taehyun glanced at Huening Kai who is already frowning at the sight of students. It was a lot more students there compared to last time they first met.

"Let's go to my favorite spot, no one can find us there." Taehyun exclaimed, pulling Huening Kai to the library.

As they entered the library, Huening Kai was a puzzled. The library was a very obvious choice.

But as Taehyun pulled him into an odd shelf, there Taehyun pushed the odd shelf and found a small room.

"Let's go, let's go!" Taehyun giddy called him. The two entered the medium sized room, the designs are decent and it's comfortable to stay in the room.

"There's a passage to the next room, since we have the same class, we can use that passage." Taehyun informed which surprises Kai.

Taehyun told him that the room was discovered by his elder brother, Kang Daniel. He also said that Kang Daniel gave him the permission to use the space as his study room.

"Let's eat, my mom gave me a bento box and coincidentally, he gave me two boxes!" Taehyun said excitedly, opening his backpack. Huening Kai pulled the shelf back to close them inside.

The room wasn't dark since it has a light that shines brightly, enough to light the whole room.

Taehyun placed the bento box infront of Kai who is sitting in front of him.

"Dig in!" The elder exclaimed, picking up his chopsticks.

".. I'm happy to have you as my friend.."

Huening Kai thought, plastering a small smile. He took the chopsticks and bento box and started eating too.
