beginning of end

The day has come, all of the grade 11, and 12 students are graduating. Many were happy, some were sad because their friends will move universities.

"Today's the day, Hueningie! I'm so excited." Taehyun beamed, wearing a complete school uniform, hair fixed, and a little bit of foundation.

The younger chuckled, "it is, hoping that the day is fast so we could finish senior high school." Kai responded, his hands around the elder's waist.

While the two of them were having a conversation, Beomgyu suddenly popped out of nowhere.

"Congratulations to us!" Beomgyu beamed, jumping around. The two giggled, it seems that Beomgyu is so much excited for the day's event.

"Hey, have you seen Soobin-hyung around?" Beomgyu questioned, Taehyun shakes his head as a response.

"Guys! Congratulations to us, we haven't hanged out much." Yeosang called, the three looking at him. Beomgyu nodded, placing his arm around Yeosang's shoulder.

"Congratulations to us!" Heeseung cheered, a lot of "congratulations" was followed after Heeseung spoke.

As they gave each other their "congratulations," the students sat at their respective chairs.

"Good afternoon, blooms! Today, we are here to witness the graduation day. We are also here to see, the students that excels in the class the most." Said one lady, it was followed by a loud clapping, both from parents, and students.

The rankings were already revealed before the event took place, it was stated that Kai had got the highest honor, Taehyun tailing him.

"Will she come? Will she be here? It's starting..."

Kai thought, stomping his feet vigorously. He don't know whether to trust her mother's words, or not.

"Are you okay, Hueningie?" Asked Taehyun, visibly worried. The younger gripped onto his thighs, and nodded as a response.

"Trust her this time, okay?" Taehyun uttered, smiling brightly at Kai, hoping that it will ease his worries.

"I will, thank you, Tyunie." Kai responded, plastering a smile.

"First, we will start with our youngsters, 11th graders!" The guy in the stage beamed, earning claps from the audience.

"Students who reached the average of 98%, let's all give a clap for Kai Kamal Huening, and Kang Taehyun!" The lady half yelling stated, earning loud cheers from everyone.

"Calm down, Hueningie. She's there, look." Taehyun whispered, subtly pointing where mother Choi is standing. Mother Choi waved at him, smiling.

Kai, still shaking, walked alongside Taehyun. He isn't really a fan of crowded places, nor public speaking.

As him, and Taehyun had already reached the stage. His eyes wandered around, there were a lot of students, a lot of parents, teachers.

And there, the calamity inside him started. The thoughts started to scatter inside his mind.

"Do they hate me? Why do they look so mad?"
"Maybe they hate you?"
"They're judging you."
"All eyes are on you."
"They hate you, they loathe you."

Kai's tears were at edge, his hands are sweating. The sudden change of walking stance was immediately noticed by Taehyun.

The elder dashed towards him, assisting him.

"Th-thank you." The words that Kai could only form.

A minute and more, their mothers went up next to them.

"Congratulations, Kai. You did well, I'm proud of you." Mother Choi whispered as she placed the medal around Kai's neck.

While the ceremony is on going, Soobin was quietly sitting at the hallway. He decided not to join the other students, although he wanted to congratulate his friends.

"And now, our grade 12 students! Let us all welcome, the only student to have an average of 98.81%, none other than, Choi Yeonjun!"

Soobin smiled, he quietly clapped his hands, "Congratulations to him, he did well through the whole year." He nonchalantly spoke, a smile forming in his lips.

The black haired stood up, picking up his things. Soobin walked towards the main building's exit.

As he was about to leave, he was called by a familiar guy.

"Soobin! I'll come find you soon, I will be the one you'll marry!" Yeonjun confidently shouted, panting heavily.

Soobin gave him a quick smile, and replied, "I'll be waiting for that."

The younger once again, smiled, and left, leaving Yeonjun panting by the main building's entrance.

After the whole event, the other families decided to take pictures of their children.

On the other hand, Kai's family and Taehyun's as well, decided to leave early.

"I'll fetch our car, wait for me there, Taehyun, and Yeosang." Mother Kang said, running to the parking lot.

"Kai, Beomgyu, Yeonjun.. I'm very proud of you three. Although it's not a very well place to speak about this, I apologize for what I did before; for years." Mother Choi stated, smiling at the three.

Beomgyu's heart ached, no matter how he hated their mother before, there will be a small space for her inside his heart.

Yeonjun simply smiled, pulling their mother into a tight hug.

Kai, stayed silent, but he smiled. After all those years, their mother had come into her senses.

"For now, I'll distance myself from you. It may not be a good idea, since it's my chance to be a kind mother, but I feel like.. it's not really right now." She explained, earning a nod from three.

"I understand mama, I hope you come back here happy." Beomgyu answered, hugging their mother.

"As for you.. Yeonjun, send my apologies to Soobin. As much as I want to apologize to him, I cannot find him anywhere." She stated, making Yeonjun nod. The memory of his mother shouting at both of them makes him bitter.

Mother Choi turned to Kai who's smiling at her, "Kai.. I'm sorry.." only the words that came out from her mouth. Kai nodded, hugging her tight.

As mother Choi parted ways with her sons, the three decided to speak to some of their friends before leaving the campus.

"Hueningie!" Taehyun beamed, jumping right into Kai. The younger was quick to catch him.

"Do you wanna go somewhere? To celebrate?" Taehyun asked, his hands wrapped around Kai's neck.

"Hey Taehyun! Come with us, me, Yeonjun-hyung, and Kai will celebrate at our house! You can bring Yeosang too!" Beomgyu invited, his eyes glittered in excitement. Yeonjun lightly slapped Beomgyu's shoulder.

"Idiot, I know what you are thinking!" Yeonjun scowled, making Beomgyu laugh.

"I'll come with you, if you don't mind." Taehyun spoke, making Kai nod.

"We don't mind, the more, the merrier." Yeonjun replied, making Taehyun smile.

After the exchanges of congratulates, pictures, confessions, and gifts, everyone went home.

While on their walk home, Yeonjun seemed to feel something, until he realized that they passed as the area where him, and Soobin started meeting up.

"I miss you."
