new bad, and good days to come

After the a month, the school had started again. Many students were excited, excited for the awaiting adventures for them, while the others are stressed, wanting to extend their vacation.

"Hyunie! Who is your teacher?" Asked Kai, walking beside Taehyun who's holding a bunch of books.

Taehyun looked at him, "oh! I'm in Mr. Jang's class. How 'bout you?" He replied, his eyes sparkling in curiosity.

Kai frowned, "I'm.. in Ms. Park's class..." the younger trailed off, looking down. Taehyun swiftly placed his books on the envelope he is holding, then grabbed the younger's hand.

"Don't be sad, Hueningie, we can still see each other!" Taehyun consoled, pinching Kai's cheek. The younger smiled, making the elder smile as well.

It's not the class that he has a problem with, he's just scared being alone, no one to talk, or he know no one inside the classroom.

While the two was walking down the hallway, Kai's heart suddenly beats in an unusual rate when he sees Taehyun's room. Mr. Jang's room is quite far from Ms. Park's.

"Hueningie, do you want me to walk you until we reach your room?" Asked Taehyun, Kai shakes his head as a refusal. "Are you sure?" Taehyun asked again, to make sure the younger's comfort. Kai nodded as a response.

Kai's heart is still beating fast, he do wanna walk with Taehyun, but he doesn't want to bother him. He plastered a small smile, then waved good bye to Taehyun.

As he walked by the other room, he could feel the eyes following him, watching his every step. He feels anxious, his heart beating as if it's gonna break his ribcage.

"Positive thoughts, Kai, positive thoughts."

The younger consoled himself, breating heavily.

Inside the room, there is Jongho. Kai was quite surprised that one of his classmate managed to be his classmate again.

The younger sat beside Jongho who is busy scrolling through social media.

Although Kai is very shy, he'd rather sit beside the person who's face is familiar with him, than to sit with someone he doesn't completely know.

"Oh Kai! I didn't notice you there!" Jongho beamed, pulling the airpods from his ears. Kai just smiled at him, then there, Jongho started telling stories.

"Where's Hyunie? I've been waiting for 10 minutes here."

Kai thought, sitting alone at the corner of the cafeteria. Taehyun texted him, saying he want to get lunch together.

The lunch is almost done, and Taehyun is still not arriving. Kai's heart beat quickened, there is 7 minutes left until classes again, but there is no sign of his lover.

Kai's heart clenches, his nose feeling runny all of the sudden, and still Taehyun is not arriving.

"What could he be doing? Is he still coming?"

Kai told himself, he started to wander his eyes around again, in hoping to see him, but there is no sign of the elder.

It's over, the lunch is over, and he didn't even saw Taehyun. Kai tried to think that maybe his lover was too busy, or was called by friends.

On the way to his next class, he saw Taehyun with a lady sitting beside him. The two of them were laughing, it seems that the girl was making jokes.

"... he's here.. all.. along..?"

And there, Kai's eyes glistened in tears. His heart clenched, and his body felt heavy as he watches Taehyun laugh with a lady.

"Oh~ does Seyeon likes Taehyun? I think you two would make a great couple!" One of Taehyun's classmate cheered, which made the lady named Seyeon giggle.

Kai couldn't see what Taehyun's reaction, his vision is too blurry to depict anything. But he knew what Taehyun's classmates is expressing, they are expressing the same emotion; cheery.

"You guys, I don't like Taehyun! I think HE likes me!" Seyeon joked, earning a lot of "oh~", "eek~" from their classmates.

Kai's tears rolled down his cheeks, as his vision started to get clear, he saw Taehyun's expression. He was smiling.

"What was that supposed to mean? Is he happy because he likes her, or he find the lady's joke funny?"

Questions dominated Kai's head, countless tears fell from his eyes. He looked away, running from Taehyun's classroom. His heart skips beat whenever the scenario earlier plays in his head.

"What's happening? Why did he reacted that way? Why?"

Kai's tears were flowing nonstop, and thoughts running inside his head.

Running into nowhere, he suddenly bumped into a guy. He didn't know who he was, his vision was blurry again.

"Watch were you— oh my, what happened to you!?" The guy student gasped as he saw that Kai was crying ugly.

Kai refuses to speak, he lowered his head then run off to the comfort room.

"Hm.. what could've happened with him, and Taehyun?" Jongho muttered, some of their classmates are aware that him, and Taehyun is dating.

Taehyun sighed internally, while the teacher was discussing, he felt guilty as he hadn't showed up at the cafeteria. If it wasn't for Mr. Jang that assigned him to take Seyeon around the minor building.

The latter was worried, thinking that Kai might have thought of something negative again. Taehyun sighed again, but it was heard by Seyeon.

"You okay? You seemed to be down ever since I saw you.." the lady asked, whispering. Taehyun shakes his head, eyes fixating at the teacher, pretending that he's listening.

"I should search for him, or else he would cry tons again because of me."

Taehyun frowned, his heart suddenly dropping at the thought of the younger crying. He knew how sensitive Kai is.

4:35pm; end of first day of school.

"Yeonjun-hyung, I feel motivated to study this year!" Beomgyu laughed, earning a confused look from Yeonjun. Kai has been quiet ever since he came along with the two.

Yeonjun seemed to notice that the youngest was spacing out, "Is something bothering you, Kai?" The elder asked, worried. Kai refused to answer, he just gave Yeonjun a quick smile, then looked away.

As they stepped out the gate, Taehyun, and Yeosang greeted them.

"Hey Yeonjun, and Beomgyu, wanna go to Seokjin-hyung's ramen house?" Yeosang asked, he wasn't intend to left Kai out, but Taehyun asked him to do so.

"Ramen? Seokjin-hyung's? Hell yeah! Let's go, let's go!" Beomgyu replied, knowing what Yeosang was trying to imply. Yeonjun made an eye contact with Yeosang, which the elder nodded as well.

"Kai, we'll leave you with Taehyun, is that okay?" Yeonjun asked, the younger gave him a small nod.

As the three walked away, Taehyun immediately pulled Kai to the nearest place where no one is passing by.

"Hueningie.. I know you're mad at me.. but.. let me explain first. The reason why I wasn't able to met you at the cafeteria was because Mr. Jang assigned me to accompany Seyeon to the minor building." Taehyun paused, Kai nodded, listening attentively, "but why were you.. smiling.. when she said you like her..?" Kai interjected, which surprised the elder.

Taehyun breathes heavily, "I don't have any valid excuse for that, but I can say that I don't like the joke she made." The elder replied, he was panicking as Kai's eyes stared at his, not leaving him anytime.

Kai's puffy eyes stayed at Taehyun's eyes, "I'll avoid her starting tomorrow, Hueningie. I promise." Taehyun added, holding Kai's hand. The younger sighed, pulling Taehyun closer to him.

The younger lowered his head, mouth aligning with the elder's ear, "You better be avoiding her tomorrow, or in any day. It was a pain watching you, laughing with her." Kai whispered, trailing kisses from the elder's ears to his neck.

Taehyun nodded, feeling himself shrink as Kai held his neck.

"Let's go, let's eat somewhere." Kai spoke softly. This definitely scares Taehyun. The younger's suddenly change of aura in a split second. Kai has been doing this, from being a crybaby to a possessive male to a soft boy.

"I refuse." Taehyun spoke, making Kai look back, "and why is that?" Kai questioned, eyes not leaving Taehyun's eyes, "give me a kiss first." The elder replied, earning a chuckle from Kai.

Kai pulled Taehyun closer to his chest, then planted kisses all around his face, except to his lips. The elder puckered his lips, knowing that Kai intentionally skipped his lips.

The younger leaned, connecting their lips together. The kiss lasted for seconds, the elder pulling, breathing for air.

"Hueningie, I'm sorry again," Taehyun frowned, Kai nodded, placing a kiss on the elder's forehead.

"Let's go." Kai spoke, pulling the elder away from the bushes. The two left the area giggling, hands holding.
