1. It has been arranged

Levy Pov.

I grew up in a harsh strict environment where it was all 'don't do this' or 'just listen' no questions were to be asked. So I did that, no questions asked. Every single action I made, never really felt like my own. More so that of my family's. I did exactly as told to do. I never wanted to leave a mark on the 'ever so perfect' Mcgarden manor. That was a small fear to me, making a scar.

There's so much pressure, having people force you around constantly expecting you to never make any mistakes. And I mean any. I hate it.

I glare at myself in the mirror. I hate my reflexion. I look to serious, my head held high and posture to it's finest. Not an inch of a smile on my face. The light blue hair my family carries was cut short to keep it from getting crazy matted and messy. A problem to me when I was young. My light brown eyes held that coldness I despised most. All those insanely rich like me, held this cold light in their eyes. Dull and empty. When looking into ones eyes you should see light, life, and a comforting feeling. That's not what I got from my own eyes.

I sighed, brushing my hair. I was to always wear my hair back, my parents wouldn't allow anything else. It looked to ugly down apparently. I really couldn't quite care though. I cared more about the inside of people, emotionally.

"Miss Levy, may Juvia enter your room?" My personal server Juvia asked knocking on my door lightly.

"Yes, you may." I answered expressionless. She entered my room with a simple smile. Juvia was my favourite server. Her eyes held what mine could not. That happiness. Also she was naturally beautiful and kind hearted.

"I brought you your breakfast miss." She placed the tray on my bedside table. Toast with jam, oatmeal with brown sugar, and tea on the side.

"Thank you Juvia." I addressed her by her name.

"Oh no need to thank Juvia. She is just happy to serve." I highly doubt that. Nobody should be pleased about serving my family unless they actually care about such bull shit. Honour and pride. Ugh.

"I think it's a must to thank those who serve the unworthy." I gave my answer. She had her mouth slightly ajar.

"Oh Miss Levy, Juvia can see you are rather upset with how things are, but don't be so hard on yourself. You are a great young miss." She informed me, I wish I could just accept that. But I'm unaccomplished. I do not deserve people working so hard for me.

"Miss Levy!" Another servant, Yukino comes into my room. She's new so she doesn't quite understand the ask and knock before you enter rule. I'm not going to rat her out though. That's stupid.

"Yes? What is it?" I asked, she seemed like she urgently had to inform me of something.

"Your mother and father wish to speak to you this instant in the dinning hall." She says, not waiting a minute of breath. I sigh. Great. What do they want?

"Then I must be going. I hope to speak to you later Juvia." I got up from my bed, not even bothering to change out of my lacy white night gown.

I made my way down the elegant stair well, our house was of five stories high. Only three of us family wise. We didn't need all of that empty space. A lot of the house was still unknown to me.

When I was on the second floor, I went through four hallways to get to the dinning hall. A large room with the biggest table you've ever seen, and only three people ate there most days. Three. Literally it could probably fit around thirty to forty people.

I sat at the very end next to my father and mother. My father was taking occasional sips of coffee while reading the letters we have received over this month. My mother sat straightly, shoulders high, taking tiny bites out of a biscuit.

"You called for me?" I gave them a questioning gaze. My father nodded.

"Levy, we are all aware your eighteenth birthday is approaching." His voice was flat out and deep. He didn't even care about celebrating my birth, so why was he mentioning it now?

"Yes, it is." I nodded, looking at my mother. Her hair a vibrant blonde, she was originally from Yukinada Manor as the youngest daughter. Yet she married my father, and was apart of the most famous estate in the country. Her brother who inherited Yukinada manor is beyond jealous I hear.

"So, you must know what becoming of the age means." My father put the letter he was currently reading down on my table.

"I, believe it means the manor becomes mine then. Doesn't it?" I asked. At the age of eighteen the eldest child receives their manor, unless a boy is born in the line. Then it immediately goest to the oldest boy. I understand these rules already.

"Not quite my dearest. A girl can not inherit the manor." He tells me, making eye contact.

"But, I am the only child. Who else would it go to?" I asked.

"Your husband." He takes a sip of coffee.

"My what?" I tried to suppress shock from my voice. I didn't quite believe the words he spoke.

"That's just how things are Levy, they always have been." He looks at my mother, she nods in agreement. "So because of this we have arranged a marriage for you. Knowing you very well won't go out to meet the young boys yourself."

"What?" That time shock does fulfill my voice. I'm not allowed to behave like this, but how could they decide my future like this? With out my consent! My mother glares sternly at me, informing me I've done something wrong.

"Calm down Levy, it had to be done." Ugh, how dare he act like this wasn't his own doing! "you will meet with the man this Saturday. And you will have a joyace encounter."

I balled my fists, against the rules once again. I couldn't help it.

"Why don't I get any say in this?" I asked, annoyed.

"Levy, stop acting so immature. It'll be of a great honour to unite the Mcgarden's and Fullbuster's." My mother peeps in. I stare at her. I take in a deep breath. This is getting me nowhere. It's no use. I can't convince them this is wrong. They've already made up their minds.

"Fine. I will meet with this man. But I will never be content if I have to spend my life with him." I turn away, not even saying goodbye, storming off. I will be scolded afterwards. They'll tell me I deserve it too. This isn't fair.
