You Only Ever Get One Chance at Life
NOTE: IN THIS STORY I WILL BE USING JAPANESE NAMES. BECAUSE THEY ARE AWESOME!!! AND BETTER!!
The final match of the Kalos League was nearing it's end, and Satoshi had only Onbat left, while his opponent still had 3: Brigarron, Crebase and his strongest pokemon, Bangiras. Onbat was battling Crebase, who was at a major advantage against it. In fact, it was like that for every pokemon Satoshi faced. When he sent out Fiarrow, the trainer had a Rotom in heat form. Although Fiarrow was able to take it out, it lost a lot of health, and it only took one hit from his Manyula to make it faint. The pattern continued on with type set-ups. Each time Satoshi was at a disadvantage, and although he usually ignored them and worked around it, something wasn't right with him. Serena could tell.
Throughout all of the battle, she, Citron and Eureka were watching from the stands, cheering Satoshi on. Her especially. Suddenly, a giant blizzard came their way, with Onbat right in the middle of it. When it stopped, Satoshi saw the little bat pokemon on the ground, fainted."ONBAT!" The trainer quickly rushed over to it, ready to pick it up, and return it to its poke ball. Just as he did, the referee called the match to the other trainer. Satoshi lost in the finals.
Then the raven realised something. There are only 6 regions known in the world. There was no way he could become a pokemon master anymore! And there was nothing he could do. He couldn't make a region appear out of thin air, he couldn't reset his badge count; he couldn't do anything.
Satoshi walked off the battlefield, ashamed and disgusted in himself. He was looking down. Serena walked up to him."S-Satoshi? You alright?" He shook his head, and ran. Satoshi didn't want anyone to follow him, they thought he was strong. They thought he was a great trainer. Pikachu thought he was a great trainer. Serena thought he was a great trainer. But Satoshi wasn't, and didn't want to show anyone his true colours. At least that's what he thought.
Serena, Citron and Eureka just stood there, Pikachu on the honey-blonde's shoulder; Eievui on her other. "Pikachu,"she said quietly,"Let's go. Eievui, stay with Citron and Eureka." The evolution pokemon nodded and jumped off it's trainer, and on to Eureka's blonde locks. Citron spoke next."Serena, Pikachu, bring Satoshi back, won't you?" Serena nodded and smiled, but was faced away so he couldn't see it."Right, Citron. We'll find Satoshi, right Pikachu?"
"Pika!" At that, the two set off to find the familiar Kanto boy they both knew so well.

Satoshi had run so far, he was at the edge of Victory Road. He couldn't hold it in anymore. Tears began pouring out of the boy's eyes. "Satoshi?"
"Pika?" He looked up, and saw Serena and Pikachu, their only emotion concern. Serena walked up to him and knelt down."Satoshi, I'm worried about you. You've never run away!" Satoshi scowled.
"You don't understand." Serena sighed, and edged closer.
"You're right, Satoshi- I don't understand. But I want to. You helped me when I was depressed, and now it's my turn. So, will you let me help you?"
The raven looked up, and saw the ocean blue eyes that belonged to the girl in front of him. Serena was someone he could trust. Satoshi nodded, and saw Serena smile. She edged closer again, a blush starting to form on her face."So?"
"I... I've beaten every gym, taken part in every league, and I'm no closer to being a pokemon master, Serena. I've been on my journey for 4 years." Serena giggled, but realised it offended him.
"S-Sorry. It's just that it's sounds like you are a pokemon master to me, Satoshi!" Pikachu looked at her with the same shock as his trainer. Satoshi was amazed. Someone thought- that after all of the Kalos League- that he was already a pokemon master; that he'd already accomplished his goal. "Really?"
"Of course! You've been through so much! There's no way you're not a pokemon master!" Satoshi stared into her big blue eyes, still not believing what she said. He looked back down and sighed."Serena, you might think I'm a pokemon master. But I know that I'm not. I still need to win a league."
"Right. But... Satoshi?"
"Yeah, Serena?" She looked at him.
"Can you promise me something?"
"Promise what?" She closed her eyes, frowning.
"Promise me Satoshi," she opened her eyes, looking straight back at him,"That you won't spend the rest of your life chasing your dream. Your friends, family and other things are more important than that. You only get one chance at life, Satoshi. Make sure you experience everything, not just see new things on a journey."
Satoshi kept looking into her eyes, and all he could manage to say was,"I- I like your eyes, Serena," a small smile creeping on to his face. Serena's small blush started to cover her face,"What?" she choked. Ash's smile got bigger."Your eyes, Rena. They... sparkle in the sun." The girl turned away, but smiling."Sato..." She let her head fall down onto his shoulder. Satoshi tensed for a second, before relaxing and lying his head on hers. Pikachu lay down on Serena's lap, tired of the long day everyone had. Serena's eyelids began to flicker shut."Serena?"Satoshi asked, not realising she was asleep. No response."Thank you, Serena."
