"Sorry, I don't remember." My assistant gave me a sigh, shaking his head and groaning. The brown irises of his eyes looked duller than usual. I really have been stressing him out, shit.
"Look, Scott, I really am sorry. I can go to the business meeting and fan meet and greet by myself. Just take a day off, okay? I don't want you to tire yourself out too much. You've given me a lot over the past years and I was an idiot to not see the effort you put in sooner. If you'll do me a favor and rest, that would be greatly appreciated." He looked at me, silently waging war with himself internally.
"No, I have to go-" I shushed him, placing a finger up to his mouth, smiling a bit.
"Sorry, my orders. Don't want to disappoint me now." His face melted into a small grin, sighing again.
"Alright, you and your charms win this time. But take your bodyguard with you. Don't want you to get hurt, okay kiddo?" I scoffed and crossed my arms.
"I'm literally only a few years younger than you!" He laughed and ruffled my hair a bit, handing me a clipboard and a small card.
"The board is what your schedule is for today. If you need my help at any time, you have my contact on your phone, and on this card. Tell Michael to drive you over to the Hirahara Corporation, and remember, don't get into any trouble." I nodded, waving bye to the male proceeding out of the room. I could've sworn I heard a quiet whoop of relief when he was outside. I wouldn't blame him. I sure was a handful.
I looked down at the clipboard, examining what I had to do today. Okay, first things first, the meeting.
__
"Greetings, (Y/N). I am Mrs. Hirahara, pleasure to meet you." I nodded and shook her hand, tilting my head down a little bit. Her blue eyes were kinda captivating, and I couldn't help but wonder if I had seen her somewhere, but she... wasn't a she.
Before I could speak, the door blew open, revealing a...
A genderbent version of Mrs. Hirahara?
"Oh Kousuke! Meet (Y/N)! They're absolutely a darling!" she gushed, shoving him forwards. I cocked an eyebrow and shifted my weight to one leg, a hand on my hip.
"Sorry, who is this...?" I asked, not certain. This was the guy I've seen buying cake at the local Sunbucks cafe. An exact replica of his mother. Creepy.
"Oh, where are my manners? This is my son, Kousuke Hirahara. You will do doing business with him from now on." I pressed my lips into a thin line, wondering how my position as a musician would be any benefit from a highly functional corporation.
"What... kind of business, may I ask?" She laughed and stood there, looking at us through half-lidded eyes.
"Marriage, of course!"
__
We were alone in the room, awkwardly sitting there moments after Mrs. Hirahara had left. I cleared my throat and crossed both of my legs.
"So, about the marriage thing-" I started, looking forwards at him.
"How about no." Our voices collided, surprising both of us. I shook my head, not believing what I had just heard.
"Come again?"
"I said no." Damn, he really knows how to stand his ground in an argument. Calm and level-headed, but why did he say that? I'm literally the exact opposite of his type, energetic, weird, sassy, and practically in two completely different departments of work. His cold blue eyes finally met mine as he tacked a packet together.
"Why did you say no?" Kousuke emphasized the word "you," referring to my side of the statement. I scratched the back of my head, scrunching up my nose, lost in thought, processing all the words that were about to spill out.
"Well, I guess I'd be kind of awkward, I suppose? Married to a spouse that you're really not compatible with, let alone having no chemistry at all. I was getting kind of suspicious when your mother suggested that we'd conduct business together. I mean, how weird would it be for someone like me to partner up with a corporation like you, no offense, but it's kind of... irregular." My eyes started to get brighter, a smile making its way onto my face, my usual childish charm coming back.
"You're a nice looking guy and all, but I don't know you, let alone what you're like. I don't believe in love at first sight. It has to be built up slowly but surely. I'm a very passionate person, passionate about people in my life and everyone around me; what I do isn't just my standards of living. I mean, it'd be dope to date someone like you, but seriously. Forcing marriage for the sake of a contract isn't good. Love is love, but if there isn't any from both ends, just call it off." I sat, looking at Kousuke for a minute, my face a bit flushed from all the talking. He nodded, thinking for a few moments.
"I will talk to my mother about the matter. Your words are very powerful, I hope you know that. Normally I'd expect someone to be less humble, coming from a platform like yours, and an outlook on life, a personality just as buoyant. I'm glad I was wrong. Now I heard there was a meet and greet you had to attend?" I gasped and groaned, checking my watch.
"Oh god, it's in twenty minutes! Sorry, but I have to go-"
"I can offer to drive you there, if you'd like. I know a quicker route that can get you there in little over ten minutes time." I bit the inside of my cheek, contemplating on whether or not I should take the offer. I nodded, determined.
"I'll do it. Can't disappoint my fans," I laughed, winking. Kousuke huffed a small grin before picking up his coat, while I texted the driver and my bodyguard about the situation.
__
"Thanks Kousuke." I leaned over the seat and gave him a card. "Hopefully we can stay in touch and meet sometime soon! My number's on the card, call me, m'kay?" I winked and got out, putting on sunglasses and a half-face mask, having someone guide me towards the booth.
Meanwhile, in the car Kousuke was looking at the small card the idol had left behind, smiling. Maybe they could develop some chemistry together.
