"The attacks have been moving to the south of the city—" The speaker from the TV was interrupted as Renjun entered the room and switched it off. Mark tore his eyes off the blank screen and raised his eyebrows at Renjun, who chose to ignore him and started talking about his day.
"Donghyuck's been acting annoying, as per usual," Renjun groaned and then threw his head against the sofa. "You're so lucky to still be in the sweet phase of a friendship where he hasn't revealed his true nature to you."
"Well, he hasn't revealed anything to me," Mark mumbled to himself and Renjun shot him a sympathetic look.
"Listen, Donghyuck isn't the most open about his feelings, or life," Renjun cleared his throat and explained. Truth be told, Mark already knew all about that. He knew that although Donghyuck was loud, his secrets were the most hidden. In the duration of the time he had spent in this new house, Mark came to realise that he knew pretty much everyone else's story and life except for Donghyuck, who hadn't even slipped up once. The only thing Mark really knew was that Donghyuck had an ice ability. Nothing else.
"I know, I know," Mark sat up and made a move for the remote but Renjun was faster than him and leaned away. "Oi, let me watch."
"No," Renjun answered and stuck his tongue up, eliciting a frustrated groan from Mark.
"You sure you're not the annoying one and not Donghyuck?" Mark hissed as Renjun pinched his stomach when he reached over again. "Why aren't you letting me watch the news?"
"You're going to end up getting upset over something that doesn't involve you," Renjun replied and the second he caught sight of Donghyuck in the doorframe, he made a run for it. With a remote tightly grasped in his hand, Renjun dashed past Donghyuck and escaped the living room (and Mark).
"What was that about?" Donghyuck asked, taking a seat besides Mark and then looked around. "Where's the remote?"
"Renjun took it," Mark huffed out and fell back against the sofa.
Donghyuck shuffled closer to him and poked his cheek, causing his frown to deepen. A light tapping began against the window and Donghyuck glanced over to it. He reached his hand over again and dug his finger deeper into Mark's cheek and the rain intensified.
"Stop," Donghyuck chuckled and turned to Mark, who looked at him with confusion. The rain calmed down. "You're going to end up creating another storm over something so simple."
"I don't get it," Mark got up and scratched his head. "When I got upset before, it never rained and neither did any storm form up."
"Maybe you're emotions weren't strong enough, or you had some sort of barrier that was holding them back," Mark nodded along to Donghyuck's hypothesis and then turned his body around to face him.
"Donghyuck," Mark said softly and the younger hummed. "I think I saw my brother."
"Brother?" Donghyuck repeated and pointed at him accusingly. "You don't have a brother."
"I do!" Mark bounced in his seat and clapped his hands. "You see, my brother left our house when I was younger. I have no idea where he went."
"Was he your adopted brother, or did he also come from the orphanage?" Donghyuck asked. Mark narrowed his eyes for a moment, thinking hard on the question before giving up with a sigh. He shrugged his shoulders and Donghyuck continued. "Why did he leave your house?"
"I don't know," Mark muttered and began to bite on his nails. "I used to ask my parents everyday about where my brother was and they cried whenever I would mention him. After a while, however, they kind of just moved on from his disappearance."
Donghyuck furrowed his eyebrows together and was about to say something when Renjun re-entered the room, throwing the remote in his hand towards Mark.
"Nana wanted to check out Mark's abilities," Renjun said as he leaned against the doorframe. He had a smug smile on his face and only after Donghyuck's comment about how lame he looked did he move from his space. "Just hurry up."

"When you're happy," Jaemin pinched the bridge of his nose and sighed deeply. "Does it get warmer or do the clouds just part?"
"I think it'll get warmer?" Mark chewed down on his lips as Jaemin nodded.
"Alright, then be happy," Jaemin commanded and then looked out of the window.
"How do I—" Mark turned to Donghyuck who smiled at him. Mark smiled back and suddenly Jaemin squealed beside him.
"Aha! So the clouds part," Jaemin cheered and slapped Jeno's arm. "Alright, and when you're sad it rains. What about when you're angry?"
"I'm not sure, maybe it just thunders?" Mark answered with a guess and Jaemin tapped his finger against his chin. Just as Jisung was going to point out that it was probably going to be hard to anger Mark, Jaemin spoke up again.
"Mark, I ate all of the groceries you bought," Jaemin hurriedly said with closed eyes. Mark's jaw dropped and immediately the room flashed. Jaemin, who stood by the window, covered himself with his arms and coward away.
"Woah," Chenle uttered his first words around Mark as he stared outside the window. Seconds after the flash, the sound of thunder echoed and Chenle ducked to grab onto Jisung.
"I'm so sorry!" Mark quickly said as he rushed to Jaemin's side, who remained shocked at his spot. Right outside the window on the floor there was a dark mark of lightening. "I could've hurt you."
"Don't worry!" Jaemin laughed nervously and then glanced outside the window, quickly getting over his short bit of fear and slapped his face onto the glass. "It's snowing!"
"Snowing?" Mark watched as the snowflakes slowly fell to the ground, but only after a few seconds it dissolved into rain and then clouds returned.
"I'm guessing worry and concern leads to snow," Donghyuck spoke their thoughts out loud and then turned to Mark. "So you got some form of ice like me."
Donghyuck giggled and held a finger gun to Mark, causally shooting a burst of ice at Mark. The ice landed on him and he shivered at the touch. It felt weird. Jeno pointed out how it was getting late and so they should probably get some sleep but then the room began to get colder and colder by the second.
"Donghyuck, it's too cold," Renjun nudged his elbow and covered his bare arms. "Stop that."
"I'm not doing anything!" Donghyuck threw his hands up in defence before looking around the room. "Wait, if I'm not then who—"
"Mark," Chenle said in a quiet voice, his small hand pointing at the floor next to Mark. Their eyes followed his gaze and Donghyuck let out a chuckle.
"No way," He exclaimed as he walked over to Mark, who simply glanced down in confusion before gasping in surprise. He jumped up and tried stepping away from ice gathered around his feet, but it only seemed to make it worse. "Mark, stop moving."
"What?" Mark looked up from the ground and was immediately grabbed by Jaemin, who pulled him closer. "Woah, Jaemin—"
Before Mark could finish his sentence, Jaemin stopped him with his lips. Jeno shrieked in the background and Mark could feel his arm starting to sting but then suddenly everything felt light and better. Mark blinked slowly and looked down at his—well, Jaemin's hands.
"Why?" Mark questioned as Jeno started apologising for causing harm to Marks body. "Why did you—"
Mark felt everything repeat itself as Donghyuck threw himself over Mark and cupped his cheeks tightly. Within seconds, Mark felt another pair of lips on top of his, but this time they were warmer. His eyes fluttered shut and he almost chased the lips as they pulled away. Mark opened his eyes and stared at Jaemin's.
"Wait, Jaemin?" Mark pulled away and looked around the room, finding his body looking at him with a cheeky smile and Jaemin with the same look. "What's going on?"
"No way," Jaemin, in Mark's body, laughed loudly, clapping his hands and clinged onto Jeno's arm.
"Mark," Donghyuck, in Jaemin's body, shook his head in shock and then smiled brightly at him. "Your power seems to be a lot better than what we had though it was."
"What do you mean by that?" Mark stompted his foot on the floor and waited for someone to explain it to him.
"Wait," Jaemin paused the conversation and hurriedly got back into his body before Donghyuck returned to his own. "Alright, now that that's over," Jaemin held his head as he got used to his own body again. "Continue speaking."
"When Jaemin kissed you, you ended up in his body, right?" Donghyuck decided to explain it all from the start. Mark nodded and so he resumed. "Then I kissed you and we switched bodies," Mark nodded again. "But you shouldn't be able to switch bodies, that's Jaemin's power."
"I was in Jaemin body," Mark suggested as an answer, only to get a sigh from Renjun.
"Mark, let's make this simple for you," Renjun said slowly, acting as if Mark was a child. "You managed to go from Jaemin's body to Donghyuck's body and then straight back into your own body through Donghyuck, right?"
"Yeah..." Mark opened his mouth to say more but Renjun interrupted him.
"For god's sake! Mark, that means your power wasn't really weather control," Renjun said and Mark flinched at the words. It wasn't weather control? But how could that be? He was controling the weather only a few moments ago.
"Ha, Mark," Donghyuck walked up to him and placed his hand over his shoulder, a proud smile on his face. "Your real power is better than your fake."
"Is it what I think it is?" Mark looked at Donghyuck with wide eyes and the younger nodded enthusiastically.
"Isn't it great?" Donghyuck clapped his hands. "You can copy other people's powers through direct contact!"
Mark put a hand to his face and rubbed it gently. If copying powers was his ability, then where did he get his weather one from? It didn't make any sense. He had never come across someone who could control weather and had definitely not being directed touched by the weather, so it didn't seem to make much sense.
"Where did his weather control powers come from then?" Jisung spoke his question out and Donghyuck's eyes sparkled with an idea. He turned to Mark but before he could say anything, Renjun stopped him.
"Alright guys, it's getting late. We should held to bed," Renjun quickly started pushing everyone out of the room. Donghyuck glanced over his shoulder and shot Mark a smile.
Mark didn't know what it meant but it had to have something more to it.
