MERRY
▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂

"Oi, Momo-chan!"

Sabito hated it when you called him that.

Sure, it was endearing in every way possible, but he just felt so embarrassed about it.

And, it absolutely did not help with the fact that whenever you used that nickname on him, you tended to raise your voice, sounding way louder than normal.

He was sure that your ultimate intent was to draw attention with the nickname due to your teasing tone, because now, at the shopping mall, random strangers around the area were looking at him.

Sabito felt immensely embarrassed at the stares of amusement he got from the people within hearing proximity. After all, it was not like he could help it that the color of his hair made him look like a peach.

But if he was going to be honest with himself, which he never was, he always grew a little flustered when you called him a peach. It was a cute nickname, but he'd never confess that out loud to you.

"Momo-chan, hurry up!" you called him again, speed walking ahead of him to enter another store at the mall.

"Stop calling me that!" he fussed.

You waved him off with a chuckle, hurriedly walking into the store and leaving him behind to catch up.

It was the end of the third week of December, and Christmas was nearing quickly.

The both of you were out doing some last minute shopping to find some Christmas presents for the others in your friend group, which consisted of other people that attended the same university as the both of you.

You guys were planning on hosting a party at the floor of your dorm during the first weekend of Winter Break, which was just right around the corner.

The other boys of the dormitory floor already seemed to have big plans and preparations for their gifts, so you and Sabito kind of panicked when you found out about it. After all, when Sabito heard that you didn't purchase any gifts, he was sure that the others didn't, either.

And so, the two of you tried to avoid the others finding out that you went to the mall to shop for them.

"What in the world could you possibly buy here?" Sabito asked you incredulously, lowering his voice just a tad so that other customers wouldn't hear him.

You had wandered into the clothing section of Hot Topic—not the anime or band shirts, though. You were at the clearance section with all the dark, miscellaneous clothing on a circular rack.

"My instincts tell me that Tomioka-san would want something from here," you answered thoughtfully.

"Well," Sabito began, practically sweat dropping as he looked towards you, "you have a horrible sense of instinct."

"And that's where you're wrong," you waved off at him. Making a sound of success, you pulled out a shirt from the clothing rack, holding it up for your boyfriend to see. "Do you think he'll like this?"

Sabito sweat dropped once again.

There was absolutely no way that super extra small shirt was going to fit on Giyuu's body. Giyuu was not a small man, and that shirt was definitely not his size.

You were stupid, but Sabito still loved you, anyways.

Sighing, he took the shirt out of your grasp and hung it back on the clothing rack. He then grabbed your hand, pulling you away from it and dragging you out of the store.

"Let's go somewhere else," he decided. "I don't think the boys will like anything from Hot Topic."

You just nodded with a small hum and allowed him to pull you away.

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂

"What is up with your obsession with peaches?" Sabito questioned you.

The two of you sat at a table in the food court of the mall, resting. There were a few shopping bags sitting on top of the table, which were some of the gifts the both of you bought for the boys.

You were currently sipping on a cold, plastic bottle of peach tea from a vending machine—which you made Sabito pay for like a gentleman, of course.

You shrugged at his question, replying, "To be honest, I only started liking peaches more after I began calling you Momo-chan."

"What is that supposed to mean?" he almost scoffed.

"I have no idea," you shrugged once again. You seemed really passive about it, so Sabito just tilted his head in further confusion. "Maybe I just like them, because I like you."

Sabito's face immediately flushed pink—he wasn't sure how you could say something so casually to him like that. Especially when it made him feel this way while you felt nothing at all.

"Ha!" you laughed teasingly at him. "Now your face looks even more like a peach!"

He made a noise of embarrassment, and then hid his blushing face in his hands. Sabito hated it when you say stuff like that to him, but it was not like he was going to tell you to stop, because at the same time, he also loved it.

He wouldn't never admit that out loud to your face, though.

Sabito refused to give you the satisfaction of it, because he was stubborn.

"Let's just get going," he huffed with a small grumble. He tried his absolute best to sound like he was mad at you, but it was very difficult when he was blushing and fighting down a smile. "The other guys at the dorm are probably questioning why we've been here for so long."

"Sure thing, Momo-chan!" you replied as you stood up.

Sabito felt even more embarrassed.

▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂▂

"Really?" Sabito stared at Tengen incredulously. "Your Christmas gift to all of us is alcohol?"

"Yeah!" Tengen exclaimed excitedly. "Rengoku-san finally turned twenty one, so now we can all drink and celebrate together!"

"Yay?" Sabito ended his reply with reluctant, rising intonation. "Just don't do anything stupid."

"No promises," Tengen said with a reckless smile.

Sabito unfortunately didn't get to see you much during the Christmas party.

For the most part, he was hanging around Giyuu, and you were drinking with Tengen and Kyoujurou. Sabito really did wish that he was there with you, but he wasn't really into alcohol. Also, he wouldn't admit to anyone here that he just wanted to spend time with you, not even to you yourself.

Eventually, he watched as a slightly tipsy Tengen (who can hold his alcohol pretty well) reach upwards to tape a little piece of fake mistletoe up on the doorway to Sabito and your room. It was quite obvious what his intentions were.

And when he finished taping it down, he turned around to quickly scan the room until his eyes landed on Sabito, who was already watching him.

Tengen threw him the most mischievous smile ever, and Sabito casted a worried glance over to you, but you were still sitting on the side laughing with Kyoujurou.

"Hey!" Tengen called over to you. "(L/N)-san! Come over here!" he waved.

This obviously caught your attention from across the room. And to Sabito, it was clear from your face alone that you were at least a little bit drunk thanks to the other two.

"Sure!"

And so you made your way over to Tengen, whose mischievous grin turned into an evil smirk when his eyes landed back over to Sabito.

"You already know I'm calling you over, Momo-chan," Tengen taunted with a wink.

Sabito immediately blushed heavily from the nickname. If you weren't there, he definitely would've yelled angrily at Tengen for practically mocking him like that. But you were in the room with him, and everyone was also present, so he unfortunately could not.

As much as he had mixed feelings on the nickname, he didn't allow anyone to call him by it other than you.

The pink haired student reluctantly made his way over to where you and Tengen were standing, watching as Tengen grabbed your shoulders with both of his hands so he could position you under the mistletoe.

You, of course, were more than confused. You honestly had not even a single clue as to why Tengen was placing you somewhere like you were a furniture item in a home decorator game, but your alcohol-driven state allowed him to do it.

Sabito let out an annoyed grumble as he smacked away Tengen's hands, which were already reaching to position him. He sighed in defeat, placing himself under the mistletoe with you just so he could get this over with.

It wasn't like he hated kissing you, or anything of the sort.

He certainly loved it when his lips were placed on yours—but what he actually didn't enjoy very much, was kissing you in public.

Sabito wasn't too big on public displays of affection, other than hugging and handholding of course, so it was clear why the other boys would want to tease him with a mistletoe stunt. He normally got too embarrassed and flustered when stuff like this happens, so his face tended to turn shades of red.

"You already know what to do," Tengen grinned.

You gave Tengen a questioning look, tilting your head at him in genuine confusion.

"What do you mean?" you asked him, looking back and forth between him and your boyfriend. "Why are we standing there?"

Sabito looked away out of shyness as the man just laughed at your dumbfounded state.

"Look up!" Tengen told you.

Sabito swore that Tengen's shit-eating grin somehow magically got wider after he said that. Everyone in the room watched as you curiously looked upwards to finally spot the piece of fake mistletoe hanging above both you and your boyfriend.

You then let out a gasp of realization, smiling childishly.

"Hey, look at that!" you exclaimed, pointing excitedly at the little plant hanging from the very top of a doorframe. "A mistlefoe!"

Well, shit, Sabito inwardly cursed. He finally noticed the mistletoe.

Your words then registered in Sabito's head, who did a double take and voiced, "Wait, huh?" He repeated what you said with confusion. "'Mistlefoe'?"

"Yeah!" you confirmed excitedly with a small hiccup. "Those mean you fight the person underneath it, right?"

Your (E/C) eyes suddenly lit up with a spark of newfound excitement. And honestly, Sabito already feared them. He certainly did not like that look of mischief in your eyes and smile.

"No, it does not mean fightin—"

"Watch out, Momo-chan!" you yelled.

Sabito did not even have time to dodge as your fist came into contact with his face.

It wasn't even his cheek, or anything like that. You literally punched him straight on the nose.

"Ow!"

Sabito immediately bent downwards in pain from the impact, the both of his hands covering his nose. He already felt liquid seeping through his fingers, so his nose was clearly bleeding from your punch.

"Oi, (L/N)-san!" Sanemi, who you weren't really close with, began to scold. "That was a pretty hard blow, y'know."

Sabito waved him off in your defense, saying, "No, it's fine." He did his best to fully stand as he groaned. "(L/N)-kun's pretty out of it right now, so give him a pass, please," he excused, gesturing towards your smiling figure.

Sanemi huffed, but passed it off, turning away to talk with the other guys.

"I'll bandage you up, Momo-chan!" you told him merrily, grabbing his hand and leading him towards wherever the first aid kit was.

"Thank you," he sighed. His voice was muffled, for he was still holding and pinching his bleeding nose.

You basically just broke your little peach boy's nose—but hey, at least he seemed to forgive you, right?
