Princess Charming - Sonia Nevermind

Requested by: Me. Because I was inspired by my Tea Party aesthetic to write something with Sonia.

"I'd...I'd like that a lot..."

"Mm, well I look forward to seeing you then, Miss Y/N."

------------------------------------------

You were nothing but a mere florist in the streets of Novoselic. Beautiful yet humble, your shop was one of the finest in the kingdom. For not just your flowers, but for your looks as well.

Forty percent of the time, your customers were not just buyers, but people who wanted to ask for your hand in marriage. Usually buying flowers anyway to try and talk to you longer. It worked...partially, but you had no interest in marrying anyone. At least...that's what you thought...

Your shop's popularity eventually caught the attention of Princess Sonia Nevermind. Who was hosting a grand ball for the kingdom, and needed a large assortment of flowers as soon as possible.

So when she first heard about your shop, she decided to stop by secretly to make an arrangement. Dawning a mysterious black cloak and hood to hide her identity. But when she entered however, she couldn't believe her eyes.

"Ah, hello! Welcome to L/N's Flowers, may I help you with anything?"

Sonia gasped silently, feeling her cold, pale cheeks rise in temperature. Beautiful was an understatement. From the rumors she had heard about you, she thought you were just an ordinary young woman with a beautiful face.

She could never be more wrong.

You were an absolute goddess.

"Ah...h-hello?" you spoke again, confused as to why the mysterious figure stood silent. 'I swear...if this is a robbery...'

You bit your lip, fear starting to rise in the back of your throat. 'Crap...it probably is! I mean, who wears a black hood in the middle of summer?!'

Noticing your change in posture, Sonia froze and began to speak her next words. "O-Oh! My apologies, I was just charmed by your beauty that I forgot what to say...I apologize once again."

Now it was your turn to blush. It was a woman.

Her voice was soothing to hear, and her mannerisms were extremely polite. Sounding exactly like a story-book princess. It was charming, to say the least. Extremely charming.

"Ah, I see. Don't worry, it's alright," you smiled, blushing a little bit. "Now, how can I help--"

"Miss Y/N!" a male voice exclaimed. Cutting you off.

'Oh no...'

You mentally cringed when you saw the door fly open. A man that you knew far too well was standing there, smiling and out of breath. "Y/N! Guess what! Guess, c'mon!"

"David...I'm in the middle of a service, please don't--"

He ignored your pleads and pushed past the mysterious woman. Making her yelp out in surprise. "D-David!" you scolded, about to apologize to the woman before David leaned over the counter-top, an ecstatic grin on his face. "I got the promotion, Y/N! Now I can finally afford that fancy dinner date with you!"

You winced embarrassedly. David was one of the few customers that only came for you. Often he would ask to go out with you, and while you always politely refused, he just wouldn't give up. Believing that the two of you were 'destined' to be with each other.

"David...I already said no..." you sighed, about to ask the woman if she was alright before getting blocked by David.

"Please, Y/N! My new paycheck can take you anywhere you want to go! It'd be so romantic, please!"

What was that word that people used...simping? If that was the case, then this man was 'simping' extremely hard for you.

"I can't, David! You're not my type!" you exclaimed harshly, growing angry when David grabbed your forearm. 'I should've put a brick in my purse...' you thought bitterly, trying to tug your arm away from him.

"That is enough!"

The harsh voice of the mysterious woman echoed throughout your store. Making the both of you freeze up in surprise.

"Unhand her at once! That is not how you court a lady, and it is quite frankly very ungentlemanly." the mysterious woman stood up firm and strong, seemingly glaring at David from under her hood.

"Mind your own business!" David shot back, side-glaring at her before going back to you.

"It is my business when you are clearly bothering the poor woman," the mysterious woman stepped closer, about to pull his arm away from yours when he backed up.

"This has nothing to do with you! So leave my girlfriend and I alone."

"I'm not your girlfriend!" you fired back. Resisting the urge to commit a serious crime in front of a witness. "When are you gonna get it through your thick-ass skull?! God! I swear you're denser than a bowl of molasses! Leave me alone!"

Now, you rarely lashed out. Famously known for being an absolute sweetheart around nice people. But when something pissed you off, and I mean really pissed you off, you could swear like a sailor.

"H-Huh?" needless to say, David was very surprised at your rude outburst. "Wh-Wha..."

The mysterious woman simply put herself between you two. Effectively shielding you from David with her body. "Please evacuate the premises. Or I will have to do it myself."

David furrowed his eyes, frowning. "And how would you do that? It's not like you're a cop or anything--"

The woman threw down her hood, unveiling the princess herself. Stern, strong, and above all...very angry.

Both you and David gasped, shock written over your features as David paled. He just pissed off the princess...

"P-Princess...Sonia..." you mumbled, covering your mouth in shock. 'I just cursed in front of the princess...ohmygod...' you blushed in embarrassment, squeezing your eyes shut and wanting to die right there and then.

Before you could however, she turned back to smile at you. Effectively making your blush worsen. "Do not worry...Y/N," she squinted to read your name tag, "I shall have this man vacant the premises! Allow me to ensure your safety!"

'So kind...!' you squealed mentally. Fangirling like a high school student with a crush.

"I-I'm so sorry Princess Sonia! I had no idea it was you-- I-I--"

"Silence, BOTTOM."

Sonia had cut off David's pathetic apology with an insult that made you wheeze. David could only stand there, shell-shocked as he tried comprehending her words. "H-Huh..."

Pointing to the door, she huffed, "Out! Before I call my guards to escort you myself."

Rushing to leave the building, David sped off. High-tailing it out of there before his ass was beat by the Novoselic guards. A service that no one wanted to mess with. No one.

'That just happened...in my store...wow...'

Blinking, you nearly flinched when Sonia turned around to face you. Sighing as her beautiful face twisted into a sympathetic frown. "I am terribly sorry you had to witness that! Gentlemen these days...some just have no respect." She shook her head.

"Ah...yeah... It wasn't the first time, so please don't worry. A-And...I'm sorry for showing you...that..." you winced in referral to your lash out. Remembering how you yelled at David like an angsty teen.

Sonia tilted her head, "That?"

"My yelling," you clarified, "I'm a very gentle person...but when things piss me off, I can't help but yell. I know...it's a bad thing, but--"

"No no! It's not bad! You are merely expressing your feelings!" Sonia assured, "Also...it was pretty fucking badass!"

You almost choked. Did she just say "fucking badass?"

Blinking in shock, you mumbled. "I...I guess you can look at it that way."

Sonia nodded. "Never be afraid to express your feelings, Y/N! Besides...that poor excuse for a man deserved it."

"Ah...yeah..." you started getting more awkward, your situation now finally sinking in to your brain. 'I'm conversing with the princess...as if we were friends!'

"Uhm...Princess Sonia..." you mumbled, rubbing your arm, "I know there must be a reason why you're here. So...do you need help with anything?"

You tried to put on your best customer smile, but it proved to be rather difficult when standing in front of royalty. Especially hot royalty...

"Oh, right! You see, I'm hosting a summer ball later this week and I need a wide arrangement of flowers. I've heard many good reviews about your shop and just had to check it out for myself."

Your eyes widened, "O-Oh! I could pull out some of our finest arrangements and--"

Sonia held her hand up, effectively shutting you up. "There is no need. From what I can tell, your flowers are all beautifully preserved and arranged to fit perfectly. Just from the window stands alone." She smiled and lowered her gaze at you. "Your talent is absolutely breath-taking..."

Your breath hitched. Oh you were definitely blushing now.

"Ah...thank you! Your praise is absolutely appreciated! But uh...when do we start the arrangements?"

Sonia smiled at you and folded her hands. "How does...tomorrow morning sound? I can send a limousine to pick you up and escort you there. And show you the layout of the palace gardens."

You were going to the palace! You could've melted right then and there, but you managed to hold your calm.

"I'd...I'd like that a lot..." you breathed out.

Sonia giggled and reached over the counter-top to grasp your hand. "Mm, well I look forward to seeing you then, Miss Y/N."

And with that, she brought your hand to her lips and lightly kissed the top of your knuckles.

"Have a nice day, my lady."

When she exited the shop, you sunk down to the floor in a panic. A happy panic, that is. Your nerves were all ringing with excitement as giddiness overtook your mind.

'I'm going to the palace...I'm going to meet with Princess Sonia again...!'

The door swung open again and you gasped, standing up.

It was Sonia again.

"Oh, and if anyone else tries to harass you like that again. Tell me, alright? I will personally execute them," she smiled, laughing jokingly.

"Ah, okay!" you laughed, though sweating nervously from her seemingly joking tone. It almost felt fake...

"Well, good day now, Y/N! I look forward to your visit."

When she finally left again, you laughed nervously. A small sinking feeling in your chest mixing with your excitement.

'She's joking...right...?'

She wasn't.

A/N: I feel kind of selfish for posting this since no one requested for it...but I just really like Sonia and wanted to write a one-shot for her.

I'm sorry for keeping you requesters waiting, but I just couldn't resist.

Also...Fun fact: I chose the name, "David" for this fic because I hated a guy in my class named David.

Not all Davids are bad, but I used the name because Y/N was put in a similar situation as me.
