The name Anna is a universal name, known in both French and Japanese (both heritages). Her name in French means full of grace, From Japanese 安 (an) meaning "quiet, peaceful" both contribute to her later on attributes of her personality.

It is revealed that her mother was French and her father Japanese

Her father's name is Katsuro and her mother's Étiennette

Her mother was from French aristocracy being a countess and her father was a late family connection to the Japanese royal family.

Anna didn't have the best family life. Her mother wasn't in the best psychological shape to be around and her father had a cold persona

She is the only one to be called by her first name by her early friend Akashi Seijuro who are both fond of each other.

Anna got into basketball due to Seijuro but grew a passion for it again after meeting Alexandra Garcia and playing streetball with Taiga and Himuro

Anna as quoted "had her innocence and child ruined" when Alex accidentally paid for the wrong movie and instead had the three watch one of the 50 shades of grey movies. Taiga and anna tried to get out but Alex was too amused by their expressions that she made them stay. Himoru weirdly enjoyed it.

She got along with Seijuro the most in her Teiko days
