CW// HUMAN GORE

~仕始める~

"What's a pretty lady like you doing all alone~?"

His voice was slurred, and he stunk as if he'd crawled out of some kind of pigsty. I dodged his stumbling figure that swung towards me, with a groan he hit the floor face down. I don't have the time for this bullshit! I gotta eat, it's getting bad! I felt warm saliva invade my mouth as it had begun to water. This isn't good, I can't commit a murder where it's so crowded, it's way too risky! I could make a run for it, but the only thing I could feel was the searing adrenaline rushing through my veins causing me to shake slightly. His stink was disgusting, but that only made my craving stronger.

Control yourself (Y/N)!

You can make it through this (Y/N), just hold in there a little longer!

No. I didn't want to 'hang in there'.

I needed something, anything! Even this intoxicated pig will do, plans didn't work out... So what?

As soon as he got up my body moved completely on its own, my mind fogged by the rushing adrenaline coursing through every inch of my body. Before I could even check if anybody was looking, my hand completely crushed his neck. The warmth of his blood tainted my hand, as soon as his body hit the ground and the smell of blood hit my nose I had completely succumbed to my bloodlust.

I was beyond saving, I'd been starving for too long. Self control was no longer an option at this point. I pulled the body into a pitch black area behind a dumpster before I began my meal. Bite after bite felt sweeter and juicier, leaving the next mouthful more ravishing than the previous one. I hadn't realized how genuinely hungry I was until I started actually eating. My face, hands, and chest were covered in this victim's blood, my mouth was dripping with his gore. Most of the fat and meat off his legs were eaten off, his intestines were half eaten and I could finally feel myself gaining control of my body again. My face was riddled with blood, it's iron taste began to sting my tongue. I was a little proud of myself, normally under these circumstances I would've still been hungry after one person. Instead, I was completely full, and the painful hunger completely dead. All that was left to get back home— without being seen soaked in some strangers blood.

//END OF TW//

Yushiro's talismans weren't useless after all, stick one of those bad boys on my forehead and activate it with my demon arts— I was completely good to go! I threw the unfortunate man by the dumpster after I was done with him, knowing the area it'll be assumed that some aggressive dogs got a hold of him. I don't like knowing the history of my victims, in case I might get guilt tripped. I never really counted on getting guilt tripped at all, but I always felt a little bad. That man probably had a family of his own too, I'm glad I left enough remains for them to at least bury. As weird as that sounds...

I made my way all the way back home, jogging home I was eager to rub all the blood off of me. I had some weird obsession with getting my clothes dirty didn't I? I entered the home, with an excited squeal and stars in my eyes. I felt my energy returning to me and after the last few months of being absolutely drained it felt absolutely heavenly.

"Yushiro~!" I sang out his name, ignoring my menacing appearance.

"Oh, welco- WHAT THE HELL IS ON YOUR CLOTHES?!"

Yushiro was waiting by the doors, it's safe to assume he's been waiting ever since he noticed I was gone. I took a look at my clothes that were still bloodstained from my previous meal, I guess my rush of euphoria distracted me from the mess I had made on myself. Yushiro rushed to me, and did a 360 around my body while looking it up and down.

"I'm assuming that's not your blood, it better not be your blood!" He looked like he was about to throw a mini tantrum.

I had a goofy smile on my face, feeling some kind of high, "Of course! I'd never get hurt, that'd make you worry!"

"All you do is make me worry sometimes, so don't act all innocent." Yushiro had deadpanned.

The rest of the night was a blur, I had put on a colorful kimono and spent the rest of my night giving Chachamaru's fur a trim. I didn't know it, but Yushiro was currently working on a portrait of me, he only ever painted Lady Tamayo or scenery. My face seemed more familiar to him, and maybe painting me seemed like a stress reliever. I'm glad I can give that to him.

Yushiro and my quiet afternoon was interrupted by a soft knocking at the door. Per usual, neither of us took any mind to it, it was daytime and answering the door when the sun was up was suicide for the both of us. The knock became louder, must be a persistent merchant. Sounds annoying.

"Yushiro-san? (Y/N)-san? Are you home?" A familiar and kind voice was muffled by the front door.

The tone had a nostalgic feeling to it, and Yushiro looked up from the novel he was reading to gaze at the front door.

He looked at me next, "Hey, doesn't that sound like that Kamado boy? Did you invite him?"

I shook my head in response, "I've exchanged letters with him, he's invited me over but I don't think I've ever invited him over here."

"Should we ignore him?"

"No! That's bad manners!" I immediately got up and made my way to the entryway with a smile on my face. "Tanjiro?" My face was close to the door,

A soft shuffling was heard behind the thick screen, "Ah! (Y/N)! I've been meaning to come over, but the sun is out and I'd hate you to get hurt, can I come inside somehow?"

"Yes, I'll unlock the door and you can come inside when I go inside a different room. Is that okay?" I advised.

"Of course!"

I did just as I had said, I unlocked the door and scurried around the corner. As soon as I felt his familiar presence and the door closed, I went to greet the boy properly.

"(Y/N)! It's been a long while since I've seen you, is Yushiro here?" Tanjiro took off his shoes, and dug through his straw basket that he must've carried during his travels.

You smiled, "He's here, he's around the corner right now. He's probably wondering when you're going to leave,"

"Eh? Did I come at a bad time?" He pointed to himself, a worried smile on his face. He bowed a full 90 degrees, "I'm so very sorry for the intrusion!"

I laughed it off plainly, egging him on to follow me inside.

"Yushiro hates tea, so we don't keep it here. I can give you chocolates, though," I mentioned, Yushiro himself joined us on our short walk to the living area, "It's no issue! It's my fault for coming unannounced, I should've written something before coming."
The sharp tongued demon piped in, "That's not a good idea, a war is starting up. Lots of mail is being stolen right now."

Japan just went through a nasty war, all we can do is hope that another one doesn't break out.

"Really? I haven't been paying too much attention to politics, I never involved myself in those kinds of issues." Tanjiro commented as he sat down at the low table.

Yushiro took a seat next to him, "I think it's more than just politics at this point, something serious might really break out!"

"Another war sounds tedious, we need to move somewhere else, this house is too rickety and old. When earthquakes hit it's going to tumble down!" I stated, being animated about my movements before I took a seat as well.

"That reminds me-" The burgundy boy started, "I brought something for you two!" He started going through his basket again, "I know that demons can't eat food, so it'd be inconsiderate to bring you something like that. So I decided to bring a couple good quality watercolors."

"Those look expensive Tanjiro!" I had commented.

The watercolors were in a thin wooden palette, but the pads of color looked really high quality. Why would he have these in the first place, he certainly couldn't have bought them, could he? Yushiro pursed his lips together, I don't think he cared for such paints but they were gold to me.

I picked those paints up to look at the pads more, "I got them from a man who lives in a village near us, he was selling things for cheap and he gave me these for free!" The burgundy boy beamed, as if he'd been blessed by the Gods. "Nobody I live with has much interest in paints, and since I made plans to visit you I needed a nice gift," His smile was contagious, I felt the tips of my lips rising as well.

"Thank you, that was really nice of you."

After a few seconds of silence, Tanjiro had spoken up again, "I also have something I wanted to talk to you two about, if that's alright."

I hummed, "Of course," Looking back at the boy.

"I wanted to invite you to my wedding."
