CHIYOKO HAD SHOT AWAKE, BACK INTO REALITY AS HER HEART POUNDED. HER VISION STILL INVADED WITH WHAT SHE SAW IN EHR DREAM. NO, SHE COULD BARELY EVEN CALL IT A DREAM. IT WAS AS IF IT WAS A MEMORY OF HER OWN.

The sunlight delicately painted the blue sky, falling from dark to light blue. Chiyoko softly groaned as she moved herself around in the comfortable bedding of the tree top home she was assigned too, alongside Maki. However, when her eyes opened, she noticed that the nutcracker princess wasn't in sight.

Being too tired to really worry about anything else and wanting to restore as much energy from her vivid dream. She laid back down, her mind wandering and questioning the details of the events. What truly happened and how it came to be, how she knew Maki never truly meant to abandon her twin sister but in the end, Mai was killed sacrificing her life for Maki. She must've felt so much guilt and hearing people's disdain for her was worse the mouse king might've put a big burden of anger, guilt and grief on her shoulders.

Maybe later on, when Maki felt like it, she could talk to Chiyoko about her feelings. Chiyoko always had her ears, eyes, mind and heart open to help those close to her and those truly in need of help.

༄ؘ ✧.* 🩰 ✧.*༄

Eventually later on in the day, the expedition started that Satoru Gojo and Suguru Geto both appointed themselves as the leaders. Maki and Chiyoko followed behind them closely, walking at a fast pace to keep in their lead of the older men.

The soft winds of Parthenia caused Chiyoko to shiver a bit from the chill, besides the casual conversations of Satoru Gojo and the serious conversations of Suguru Getou as they talked about work, about their destroyed home and kingdom. The bristling of the forest, flying leaves and crunching twigs were left in the background, it was quite peaceful for Chiyoko she must admit.

She must admit, the barren land was quite beautiful. Flowers she had never seen before were blooming everywhere, the colors were vibrant and lively and they smelt like rose flavored candy but it had a special trait of not invading your senses.

As Chiyoko's crystal blue hues explored the area around her visually while she still continued on her path with Maki, Satoru and Suguru, suddenly something caught her attention.

She sworn she could've seen a beautiful woman, a woman with short black, or what seemed to be a dark hair color, her body seemed quite slim as it was fit into a dark blue dress that glittered elegantly like the night sky, flaunting her slim yet curvaceous figure. Her eyes held emptiness but her smile was genuine, like she was relieved.

Chiyoko shook her head, her eyes closing for a second to get a clearer vision but as she opened her eyes, the woman disappeared. As if it was only an illusion.

Maki took notice that Chiyoko was behind her and turned her attention to them, "Hey, you okay?", her voice asked, holding calmness but also concern to make sure the white haired human girl was okay.

The white haired girl turned her attention to the princess who was cursed into a Nutcracker, nodding her head in response. "Yeah, don't worry I'm okay", she assured the green haired nutcracker, smiling as she kept on walking with her.

"You two! There's no time for dilly dallying! We're here!", Satoru called out to the two girls.

Suguru sighed softly, "Says the one who goofs off a majority of the time when he's supposed to be working", he recalled, playfully rolling his eyes.

"Awww, but you know you love it when I make all those jokes at work and when I bring you to the garden, Suguru-Sensei", Satoru chuckled softly, his carefree smirk slyly crosses his lips.

"Satoru, what am I ever going to do with you?", the captain sighed softly to his major, his face holding a frown that was a bit forced.

The white haired major playfully put his hand on his waist, playfully poking the spot that he knew was ticklish. "Ah, Satoru!", Suguru playfully pushed him away, a pout falling on his lips.

"Ahhh, Suguru~", Satoru playfully whined, gently pushing Suguru's broad shoulders, making the dark haired man attempt to push him away as he let out a laugh.

"Satoru", the Captain representing the Candy Regions of Parthenia laughed, attempting to scold his husband but to no avail.

"Don't lie, you love when you do this", Satoru laughed as well, the Major representing the Mint Armies and Squadron, playfully poked at his husband.

All that was left in a distance was their laughing and playful prodding at each other, just enjoying their presence instead of worrying about their responsibilities that drained them.

Chiyoko watched the two with a sweet smile, seeing the rings on their fingers of heart shaped diamonds decorated on their hands, shining brightly in the clear blue sky and glimmering in the sunlight. The two truly loved each other, even if they were polar opposites, their differences worked together.

Maki scoffed slightly, "they tell us to get a move on, yet here they are acting all lovey-dovey", she rolled her eyes as she continued walking with the cursed human girl.

Chiyoko walked silently alongside Maki, "Those two are really happy together, it's kinda sweet", the white haired girl admitted, a small smile crawling on her lips as she watched them.

Maki sighed, "Yeah. Ever since they met to train as guards as teenagers, at first they wouldn't stop arguing but then they got buddy buddy and then without a surprise, they got married a few years later. They were even good friends with the first sugar plum princess and her lover", it seemed like whenever she spoke of the first sugar plum princess, her voice softened a bit. She seemed to really admire the first sugar plum princess, looking up to her even. Her death must've really taken a toll on Maki. The guilt and the grief of it all was real for her.

With a few locations left, Maki and Chiyoko alongside Satoru Gojo and Suguru Getou eventually arrived to the floating stepping stones of the forest, that would allow them to reach the Sea Of Storms that have been feared by many. Few were brave enough to travel but not all made it out alive to tell the tale.

Chiyoko sucked in a nervous breath as she turned her attention to the floating rock path.

Satoru and Suguru were in the front while Maki stepped aside her. "Don't worry, it's not as scary as it looks and once you get the hang of it, you can get through it", the green haired girl made of wood assured her, noticing how she was becoming nervous.

Chiyoko returned a nod of acknowledgment to thank her and let Suguru Getou jump first. The Captain wearing the red suit and had his black hair tied his hair from a half up half down style into a bun to keep it out of the way.

Inhaling and exhaling a breath to consume his fear and nervousness, Suguru took his first step forward on the floating rock. The magic holding the rocks was strong but it still caused the rock to wobble, causing his breath to hitch.

Even if Satoru was braver than him, he also worried about his husband along with safety and well-being.

He nervously watched Suguru, until the dark haired man lifted his head and turned to them. He nodded, "You guys can start crossing, but do it one at a time", he called out to his husband, along with the nutcracker and human girl.

Satoru nodded his head, his hands tightly gripping the bag full of supplies as he took his first leap onto the floating rock. His steps wobbled slightly as he jumped on the next one, a bit too soon even.

Chiyoko almost let out a gasp of fright as she watched the scene; frightened that the Major could fall off but she let out a breath of relief that she didn't realize she was holding in as Satoru managed to regain his balance and kept on going forward.

Once Satoru was far enough, Maki took the next step to go forward. The nutcracker girl carefully took the next step on the floating step as she watched Suguru and Satoru going over, being more experienced in jumping on these rocks than both of the grown men were in front of her.

Chiyoko took the steps forward, being as cautious as possible. It was much harder than it looked, it was beyond her how these three could do it so naturally like it was easy.

As Satoru and Suguru were jumping forward and reaching close to the end, the Captain came forward first to the end but unfortunately the Major felt his feet slip and he fell backwards.

"Satoru!", Suguru screamed his name, turning his head as he noticed that his husband was dangling on the edge, holding his dear life on a tree branch.

Chiyoko gasped as she noticed Satoru's state of danger while Maki leaped forward, not caring about the dangers of the steps as she noticed her old teacher was in danger and hanging to death.

"A little help here please! It's quite high!", the white haired major called out trying his hardest to be as brave as possible, his blue eyes looking down at the frightening height that was below him. If he fell, he knew it would mean certain death for him (where the bag of their bag supplies had fallen as well, blind to everyone else's eyes).

"Hold on! Just take my hand!", the dark haired Captain did his best to help and assure his husband, crouching to his knees and held his hand out to him.

Unfortunately, despite Satoru being very tall in height and arm length, the distance between him and Suguru was too far. He couldn't reach. As the branch started to crack slowly, this furthered the height difference.

Chiyoko jumped further alongside Maki but she noticed the nutcracker girl taking her easily disassembling arm and held it with the arm still attached and handed it over to Satoru. "I hope your palms are not sweaty. Here take this!", she offered to the major her arm.

Satoru's eyes widened at the offering but this was better than nothing, especially when the branch was breaking off.

Chiyoko eyes widened as she watched the scene and jumped to the end. Maki may have a stoic expression and carry herself in a rough exterior but beneath the toughness, truly she held the heart of a noble warrior.

Satoru's hand luckily managed to grab the wooden arm that Satoru offered him. His grasp was tight as possible and Maki started to pull him back with all of her strength as much as she could muster. Unfortunately, Maki's footing unfortunately slipped which caused her to lose focus; seeing this Chiyoko's feet worked faster than her mind and she jumped in the scene; the white haired girl helped the cursed girl as she pulled her back.

Seeing that this was working, Suguru felt relief as he quickly grabbed Satoru's wrist and forearm with each hand and helped pull him up. The major let out loud pants of relief as soon as his body hit the ground.

"Satoru!", Suguru jumped forward and embraced the white haired man in his arms, feeling his heart pound from fear and relief as he held his husband in his arms. "Are you okay? Are you injured?", his hands gently cupped his face and pressed a kiss to his forehead.

Satoru chuckled to relieve himself of the fear and to get past the shock, "Don't worry. I'm okay, just a bit frazzled after that show", he laughed lightly, assuring his husband with a soft peck on his cheek.

Suguru sighed in relief and had his fingers gently tangling in Satoru's Snow White locks. "That's good to hear", he chuckled softly, a sweet smile crossing his defined features.

Chiyoko smiled softly at the genuine romantic scene before she turned her attention to the nutcracker girl. "That was very noble of you, Maki", she complimented the cursed princess, admiring her effort and work.

A small but sincere smile crawled on her face, "Well, just helping an old friend out", she answered plainly, but she felt her heart pounding as Chiyoko's words echoed through her mind. Her sweet smile made herself feel less bitter, less guilty, it was kind of a relief to be around her. Her kindness put a new perspective of everything.

Satoru and Suguru laughed lightly as they finally managed to fully recover from the shocking near disaster; they both looked at the girls in front of them. "You girls doing okay?", he asked both Maki and Chiyoko.

"Mhm", Chiyoko nodded her head and hummed in response, "Yes we're good! I'm glad you're both okay", the white haired human girl called out to the both of them.

Maki nodded her head, agreeing with her statement but eventually noticed something. "Yo, um who was in charge of holding our supplies?", she asked, curiously as she looked at the two adult men and Chiyoko.

Chiyoko shook her head and answered, "Not me" -'d while Suguru did the same.

"I left it to Satoru I believe", as the dark haired man said those words, suddenly Satoru's lips were stuck in a state of paralysis in a goofy dumb founded smile.

The Major let out a nervous chuckle, "I think, I might've lost them", his voice was quiet and sheepish.

They had not even reached the ocean yet and sailed the seas and they already lost their supplies. It was going to be a very long, interesting journey.
