Y/N dropped the sewing kit onto one of the desks while Tomo set down her fabric.
The group of kids started to fill the study hall room as the last class of the day was used mostly just for fun. The regular students found it fun to use their quirks alongside hero course students. Classes such as study halls were the only real times that courses mixed.
The teacher, a man with a rather useful night-vision quirk, knew that most of the kids used the class to play around, so once he did roll call, he left the room and the door locked behind him.

"This stupid jacket will be the death of me," Tomo chuckled, shaking her head as she lied it out onto the table.
"I think Jin is going to be the death of all of us," Y/N pointed to Jin who was already beginning to throw his playing cards at the wall. His fingers were wrapped up rather fresh, so it was obvious how much he had been pushing himself.
Maiko played alongside him as she made portals in and out portals for the card to pass through and make its way to the wall.

Y/N began to help Tomo sew while trying to catch glimpses of the card game. Maiko typically has more fans when it came to the audience, as people liked to watch her unusual style of card-throwing beat the person who does it for a living.
The sounds were rather constant, a long pause of silence before the sharp noise of the wall being impaled.
"Pass me a needle, please," Tomo requested. She blinked for a moment before handing it to her.
Y/N watched Tomo's delicate hands sew a detail into the sleeve.
Tomo always had a gingerly approach to things, perhaps it was just her softer nature or her quirk not at all being useful for fights.

Feeling the warmth of the sun on her neck disappear, Y/N turned around to the open window, which she had thought was previously closed.
Clouds were passing over the sun as the natural light in the room dimmed.
"Hey, Tomo?"
"Hm?"
"Does something feel weird to you?"
Tomo glances up to notice Y/N's gaze at the window. She found it odd.
"What do you mean?"
"It was really hot today. I didn't expect it to get cloudy."
Tomo shrugged, pulling a thread through a needle.
"We can turn on the heater if it's too cold for you."
"Noโ€”it's-its..I'm Fine."

A cheer erupted by the door, bringing Y/N's attention back to the room. Maiko clapped her hands while Jin threw himself on top of a desk in defeat.
She smiled, seeing him pout like that.
Jin and Maiko's game was probably the one thing keeping everyone in the room actually entertained.
"I request another game," Jin pointed at his adversary, who's prideful smile irked him greatly.
"Fine, Fine!" Maiko waved her hands around, "if you think you can-"
A silenced shot rang through the room and sprays of blood splattered over Jin's white shirt.

Maiko's face froze, seeing the empty space on her hand where two of her fingers used to be. Dark red crimson started to run down her arm and all she could do was scream.
Another quick shot burst, so all the kids started to duck for cover.
"The fuck! The fuck!" Tomo cried, her sewing kit falling to the ground, "the fuck is happening?!"
Y/N's eyes darted around as fast as she could, her stomach dropping as she saw her friends on the back wall near the door. Her own fingers trembling as she watched Maiko looked down at her missing digits.

Y/N peered around the room, trying to see any sight of a gunman, but no one was in sight. She couldn't see where the hell the shots had come from.
Jin took off his tie, quickly wrapping it tightly around Maiko's wrist.
"First-aid kit..first aid...where is it?!" He desperately called out to the people surrounding them, but their heads ducked lower as his voice raised. Jin began to crawl towards the teacher's desk and once he was in the line of the open window, another silenced shot sounded and Jin fell backward as it hit him at his chest.
"Jin!" Maiko cried, "fuck! Fuck!"
He held onto his chest, blood seeping out from his wound, and crawled back towards Maiko.

Y/N kept her eyes on him, feeling the weighted fear come down on her as the blood from his chest crawled down his hand.
Jin slid his blazer off, revealing his speckled shirt. He pressed it overtop Maiko's hand, his heavy breathing, making hers worse as he struggled to tighten it.
"Fuck, we're gonna fucking die!"
"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up, Seiso!"
Maiko pressed her head against him, needing something to block her view.

Y/N's stomach churned while she watched her shaking arms lift and her fingers curled around the desk she was under. Carefully getting on her knees, Y/N peered over the desk, trying to get a glimpse of the seemingly dangerous open window.
"Y/N!" Tomo whispered, "get down!"
Y/N watched as a figure faded into vision, his entire body forming on the windowsill as he sat on it.
Her eyes widened and her fingers dug into the desk as his face replayed itself in her memory.
It was the villain that Y/N and her friends had met that night in the warehouse, the one who knew of Jin and Maiko's quirks, the one she had temporarily blinded.

"Got you, portal-girl," he smiled, fiddling with his gun, a silencer attached to the end of it.
Sitting there on the window, he watched for movement among the students. He was waiting for his perfect opportunity to kill every last one of them. He knew most were hero course students, he had specifically checked to see the quirks of the hero kids who were in the room. The others he couldn't really care about, as getting the hero students was his main priority, but he had prepared for them all to suffer the same fate.

Y/N returned to the floor with Tomo and while she took another glance at the back wall, her eyes followed Katsumi as she crawled along the ground, making it to the door.
Katsumi tugged on the handle the best she could, but it wouldn't budge.
Her immediate response was using her quirk, so she whispered into her fingers and prayed it would send to someone, anyone.
Her tears slid down the soft skin of her hand every time she brought it to her face.
Her voice struggled to speak as she tried to send out her distress signal.

Y/N's head whipped around as more kids crawled along the floors. Hero course students wanted to try and get the villain away from everyone else, but that was currently the only plan.
Tomo held her hands to her ears as hero students who attempted to get close to the window were shot down. The shots intentionally aimed to not kill the first hit.
Tomo squeezed her eyes shut, not wanting to look over at the dark, moist spot that was growing on Jin's jacket as it soaked up Maiko's blood. She didn't want to look at the hole in his chest alongside the red spots from the explosion of Maiko's fingers.

Tomo tried to down out the sound of her friend's cries and the cries of the students around her who were already giving up on escaping the room.
"Tomo," Y/N whispered, placing her hand to her cheek, "calm down."
"Don't...don't fucking tell me that," Tomo frantically shook her head, "we're fucked!"
Y/N continued to look around for anything to use as a weapon, but the options were incredibly sparse.

"Y/N," Katsumi messaged, quickly getting her attention, "my voice won't travel. I'm trying and I'm trying and it won't work."
Y/N circled her hand, signifying to her friend to keep trying, as that was the only possible option.
"Y/N, Tomo."
On his hands and knees, Jinji made his way over to the two girls, his tiny ponytail had become undone.
"Did you talk to Kat?" He whispered.
"She's trying to reach someone," Y/N nodded, "but I don't think her quirk is strong enough to reach anyone outside the room."
"I have an idea," he carefully said, "but...I'll need Tomo to help me."
Tomo shook her head as if her mind didn't need any time to process such a request. She pressed her hands firmly against the face, blocking out the world.

"You need to trust me," Jinji told her, resting his hand on her knee, "I can use my quirk to push him out of the window, but I need you to shut it as soon as he's gone."
"No!"
"Tomo."
"No! Don't make me! Please!"
"I can't do it. I'll have to focus entirely on the push."
"No!"
"Closing that window requires someone tall, but the tallest one here is Jin. He's obviously in no condition to move right now. I need you to do this."

Tomo gripped onto Y/N, shoving her head onto her shoulder.
"Please! Oh god, please don't make me do this!"
"Tomo, you'll be okay," Y/N assured, "He'll be more focused on Jinji."
"No! We should just wait! I can't do it!"
"We can't wait. Maiko is losing too much blood. We need to get him out of the room first."
Y/N lifted Tomo and gripped tightly on her shoulders.
"I know you can do this."
She shook her head, her hot tears rolling down her pale face.
"I'm not like Jinji. I'm not like Jin or Maiko. I'm not like you, Y/N!"
Tomo was in love with the eyes in front of her. That's why she believed the words that were to come from her mouth.
"Yes, Tomo, you are like us. I know you. Jinji needs your help. Please help him."

Her tears slid onto Y/N's arms as she slowly nodded. Jinji relayed his plan; afterward, he and Tomo slowly began to get closer to the window, hiding behind desks to avoid the eyes of the villain.
Y/N could feel the heavy beat of her pulse along her skin as she watched Jinji prepare himself to possibly die in the name of everyone in the room.

Shaking out his hands, Jinji held them out, using all his strength to magnetically divert the villain away from himself.
The villain began to fumble at the power of the quirk and they started to tumble out the window, but a shot that hit Jinji straight in the leg made him fall. The magnetic force was lost.
Tomo was slow to react, seeing Jinji's blood-stained pants, and began to shut the window right on the villain's hands.

The older man and his determined, evil soul overpowered her.
Y/N felt her heart stop as the villain raised their gun and Tomo fell back as a bullet shot through her shoulder.
"Tomo!"
The villain pulled himself back up the building and pulled the window back open, fully stepping into the room.
"You little bitches!" He hissed, his opposite hand red where the window had tried to shut down on it.
"You fucking bitch!" He yelled, stepping on Jinji's injured leg, making him cry out. His monstrous eyes darted to Tomo.
"I'll fucking kill you!"

He raised the gun to Tomo who lied on the ground, her blood seeping out of the hole in her shoulder. She whimpered as she tried to crawl away on her elbows.
"No!" Y/N cried out, not hesitating to stand up. "Stop it!"
She ran over to her friend and stood in the line of fire.
"Y/N..." Tomo hushed out.
"Stop it! Get away from her!"
Y/N's throat was strained with the full power of her voice.
The villain smiled as he recognized Y/N's face and her fear.
"You!" his voice full of vengeance, "The one who shined the light in my face!"
"Get away from her! Get out of here!"

His venomous smile was disgusting to look at. He loved the frantic look on her face and her shaking fists that made the lights flicker.
"Y/N, don't," Jin called out to her, his body straining to move. His plea went completely ignored. Katsumi was continuing to try and send out a message while Maiko breathed in and out, the feeling in her hand now gone.
Blood stained the floor under their feet and the splatter from shots sprayed over the walls and desks.
Pools of blood seeping out from legs, chests, and shoulders lied in the rays from the sun, fully able to shine into the room now that the villain was no longer blocking it.

The warmth from the lights outside crawled up Y/N's arms, fully encasing her.
The metallic smell filled the air, leaving a dirty taste in her mouth.
"Get out of here! Leave us alone!"
He cocked the gun as he raised it to meet her head. His pride keeping him from noticing the radiation coming off his victim.
"I'll take great pleasure in killing you," he grinned, making Y/N's hands glow. Her adrenaline had fully taken control over her body and the visions of everyone in the room slowly dying was enough for her to no longer stand by and watch.
She'd do anything to save them.

Raising her hands, faster than any bullet, a large cloud of flames shot out from her palms and engulfed the villain, his screams and cries heard from inside the ball of heat.
She watched him stumble and fall as her flames cooked him, his wails like demons crawling out from hell.
The cracklings off his skin replaced the sound of his cries and the smell of his burning flesh overwhelmed the smell of fresh blood.

Katsumi faced the door, her hands were frozen as the intense heat waved blanketed her back.
Jin's eyes were frozen on her while Maiko kept her face away, unable to acknowledge what was happening.
Tomo, lying beneath the girl she loved with a wound spilling out onto the floor, looked up with complete panic. It felt as if air no longer existed. It felt as if her heart was no longer there. Everything she had feared was coming to life before her. Tomo's skin felt cold, no matter how hot the room had become. Y/N looked utterly terrifying and Tomo couldn't bear the sounds that were resulting from Y/N's decision.

Finally, the fire was gone, and the body of the villain lied on the ground in front of the window, charred and burned. It didn't even look human.
Y/N fell at her feet, her hands red and blistering, the skin peeling back and pulsating with pain.
"Y/N..."
She looked behind at Tomo, whose eyes broke her heart.
"...why...?"
She looked around, those that had been watching were holding a gaze, their bodies still from what they had just seen.

"I...Tomo...I..."
Everyone remained silent, continuing to sit around for minutes on end until finally, the door clicked open and Katsumi fell back as it slid open.
"Kat...?" The teacher called before fully opening the door and becoming frozen at the sight before him. The students were still groaning in pain and Maiko cried harder and harder.
"Holyโ€”fuck. Hey!" He called into the hallway, "I need help in here! Get all teachers! Call an ambulance! I need help in here!"

Y/N sat in the same spot as teachers walked in, escorting injured students outside unless they were unable to walk.
Midnight cautiously entered the room, passing by the girl she remembers adoring. She turned Jinji's body over and began to attend to him, all while keeping her eye on Y/N who continued to stare down at her hands which were still bubbling.

A hand made its way onto her back very carefully as if it were testing the waters. The palm against her still-cooling body made her shiver. When it clicked in her head who it was, Y/N looked over to see his face.
Aizawa bent down beside her and observed the state of her hands. The steam that wafted off her raw, burned skin hit him in the face.
Peering ahead, the body in front of her even made him feel sick.
"L/N," he spoke softly, his deep voice making them meet eyes, "are you alright?"
She nodded slowly.
"Come with me now. You need to be attended to."
He helped stand her up and he escorted her outside where the paramedics had arrived and begun to head inside for other injured students.

Aizawa stood in front of her while someone wrapped up her hands.
"L/N," he called again, her eyes trailing up to meet his face. Aizawa didn't exactly know what to say to her. He didn't want to blame her for the body, but no amount of faith could deny the clear picture.
"Your friends will be alright," he decided to say, although the unchanged expression on her face rubbed him the wrong way.

Y/N still stared down at her now wrapped hands, the warmth still lingered along her arms.
Y/N was disgusted with herself.
She didn't mean to have hurt the villain as badly as she did.
But...a bit of her felt relief. She had saved them. Her friends would be alright, just as Aizawa said. She had stopped the threat.
She rescued them. She protected them. She saved them.

But that didn't matter.
